We just got off the Ruby and had R515. Have booked A515 on the Star. These cabins have more room and, set up as twins, are super!! Also, the closets have doors.

 

I can wholeheartedly recommend the sideways rooms.

My daughter and I will be in R515 on the Ruby next May in Alaska, thanks for posting the pictures! How was the noise from the hallway, having the bed on that outside wall?

I found out the Cruise Director on our upcoming cruise will be Sammi Baker. I have read some very nice things about her sounds like she will be very good too.

Will be on the Golden in June in Alaska. Anyone know who that CD is?

I would be thrilled if it was Billy Hygate! He was great!

Just heard back from my agent on this, she said they have been fighting this for 6 months and she said go at your regular time, it will be fine. So that is what I intend to do

I definitely do not like their new rule. One of things I liked about the cruise experience was having lunch the day of the cruise up at the Horizon court, we are on dolphin deck for this next cruse, which means it will be way past lunch time when we are even allowed to board. But yet someone who is on Caribe or Lido deck will get this experience. I really don't think that is fair, all cruises should be created equal. What about the person who is on Caribe but has a 1pm flight, they certainly are not going to adhere to this rule. If this is going to be a standard practice I see a lot of people purposely booking cabins on Caribe and Lido deck. I know for my next cruise I will certainly consider it. Check out time at most hotels is 11 am, now we have to kill time for 3 hours.

He was probably my favorite CD of the 4 Princess cruises I have taken. He was very personable and did a great job. I have hoped we would get him again. We are booked on the Emerald Princess in Oct of 08, but sounds like he will be on the Golden for awhile. I am not sure how often they switch.

I have been watching the mailbox for our passports, but from what I am reading when they expedite them, they go fedex is that right? I am wondering if they could also UPS overnight or second day.......

My nerves can't take this, think I will just bite the bullet and open up the checkbook and get a duplicate BC. I didn't want to spend the extra money if I didn't have to, but I need to request mine from California which they say takes 7-10 days, I am waiting for the mail to come today, if no passport then will order the BC.

Generally how long has it taken from the point you have been told they would expedite your application did you actually receive it?

I am 57 and love to cruise. I have been on 5 so far, and looking forward to

number 6 in March. I have always went as the 3rd person, but at some

point I am sure I will book solo. This is a great board to meet someone

to share expenses with. I too will come back often and check this

thread.

Is Billy still on the Diamond?

Our first cruise was on the Sea Princess in 2001. Billy Hygate was

our cruise director. Is he still around?
