Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks everyone for your responses. When I started this topic I also emailed Virgin but did not expect to get a response before I leave in two days time. Well, I was surprised to get an email this morning stating in part: 'If you want to BYO wine to enjoy on board, we allow two (2) 750ml bottles per cabin in carry-on luggage.' So I will bring two bottles of wine in my carry-on and see how things work out. Thanks again.
  2. I'll be a solo traveller when I board the Resilient Lady in Melbourne this Saturday for a 5 day trip to Hobart. Can I bring on two bottles of wine (as I think two bottles per cabin are allowed) or is it one bottle per passenger? Also, do I pack the wine in my bag or in my carry-on?
  3. Thanks jon81uk. The range on the drinks menu is mindboggling! I'll stick to beer ($5 for Heineken and more reasonably priced wines) but obviously many other explore a wider variety drinks.
  4. Thanks Luvbooks, I'll contact VV to check if I can bring a second bottle. While I'm on the topic, does anyone have a Resilient Lady wine list in Australian dollars? Cheers
  5. Fantastic news Luvsbooks if this applies to Australian sailings. Do I need to bring the 2 bottles of wine in my carry on luggage and show it before boarding or can I put it in my checked in luggage? Also, I'm a solo cruiser so maybe I can only bring one bottle? What do you think? Cheers!!
  6. Can I bring a bottle of wine on board the Resilient Lady when I depart Melbourne for Hobart on 27 January 2024 for a five night cruise?
  7. I had no idea that the deck plan was 'unavailable' to others. I struggle as it is so thanks arxcards for asking that the matter be looked into.
  8. Thanks Relaxing Robbies. Seems like the layout has not changed since earlier this year. We board this Sunday.
  9. The current Luminosa 9th level deck map (attached) shows the Ol' Fashioned BBQ is now located inside the Lido near the pizza where the seafood corner was when I cruised earlier this year. Is that right? I can't see any reference to a new location for seafood. Can anyone who is on or has cruised on the Luminosa recently clarify this? Thanks. carnival-luminosa-deck-plan-pdf.pdf
  10. Thanks for your response rkmw. I thought that was the case but wondered if the tagging of the cruises made a difference.
  11. I've cruised a number of times with Carnival in Australia in the last two years and will have 75 nights with Carnival (reaching Platinum status) on the second leg of two back-to-back cruises on the Luminosa in February 2024. I know that it is Carnival policy to grant the level to be obtained on a specific cruise at the start of that cruise, but as my two cruises are tagged as back-to-back can I expect to be granted Platinum at the start of the first cruise? Or am I being too ambitious?
  12. Hi Windsor26 A number of months ago I submitted the details of my holdings from my equiniti account but this was REJECTED by Carnival as it did not have my name in full on the downloaded page. I now email equiniti every three months or so and they send me a statement by POST from the UK. This takes a number of weeks so I need to make sure I request the statement in good time to submit to Carnival. While a bit of a hassle I have had no problems since.
  13. I've noticed that the Carnival Luminosa offers 'Faster to the Fun' as an add-on expense to give priority boarding and tendering for those who do not qualify for those benefits (ie not in a suite or platinum level or more). Has anyone tried it and, if so, was it worth the extra expense?
