Thanks for the heads up!

I agree with Keith, Long Beach is a good choice. In the downtown area there are normally good deals on some of the bigger chain hotels unless there is a convention in town. The area around Pine Ave/Ocean Blvd is full of great restaurants, and the Rainbow Pier area south of Ocean Blvd (which is where the Long Beach Grand Prix is held) has the Aquarium and a nice shopping/dining area, as well, called Shoreline Village. And don't forget the Queen Mary! Feel free to email me if you have any questions, as I have lived and worked in Long Beach most of my life. :D

That's what the grandboys called it when I took them on a cruise a few years ago. It stuck and we have always called it the mustard drill since. 4 yr old was wondering when they brought the hotdogs..... Maybe it will become a cruise critic term like Stewart.
That is cute. 25 years ago when my son saw the Statue of Liberty for the first time he yelled out, "Look, its the Statue Delivery!". Needless to say, to this day we still refer to it as that. :D

We usually use the train to the port from YVR and the $15.00 shuttle when going back to YVR from the port. Has always worked well for us since we pack pretty light.

Both of my last 2 cruises on Princess had upsell offers. In both cases I had booked a mini suite and I received the upsell offer within a week of my booking. I accepted both and now it is hard to think of not being in a suite. Both cruises were booked within 45 days of sailing. Im not holding my breath but I just booked a mini for a Coastal in November. Hope I hit the trifecta! :D

I re-booked today for an extra $70.00 from my original casino rate with no freebies, moved to an aft Balcony from Forward, got the tips and 2 dinners. I'm happy as is my wife - Happy wife = Happy Life! :D

We went for the Aloha Deck and have two great balconies and are already thinking about the cool breezes next December. Thanks for all the tips and information.
Aloha!:)

DO NOT get 219. It is right under the weighs. Not only is there noise, the entire cabin vibrates. We were moved to the port side for the next cruise in 239, I think. It was fantastic!!!!! We have been under the gym before and it wasn't a bother. This time was horrible.
Cheers, Denise
Thanks for the information!

Hi All
I am ready to book the Christmas LA - Hawaii cruise for 2016 and want to get 2 balconies. Normally my wife and I tend to cruise in the aft section but my sons like the Forward cabins. Anyone have information on the Balcony Cabins on Lido Deck in the forward area? I have looked at pictures of the ship and the balcony appears to be covered - anyone know for sure? With the fitness center above on the Sun Deck, could there be a lot of noise?
Thanks in advance for your help!:D

Don't forget afternoon tea! Sometimes the line for the Afternoon Tea gets very long, and as a Suite Guest you can have it delivered to your Suite. It was amazing sitting on our Balcony having tea and sailing through Glacier Bay. It is presented beautifully in the Suite and is very relaxing.

Just finished unpacking from the 3 day. Overall it was great cruise, but many more young children than I would normally expect. I guess that was because of Spring Break for a lot of schools, but I do wish parents would pay a little more attention to their kids. The piazza area was often a makeshift kindercare with children running, jumping and screaming while other cruisers were trying to enjoys piano music or just relax and enjoy a treat from the IC. Weather was great and the Golden's crew once again provided great service. We tried the All Inclusive drink package and, at least with the short 3 days, the price was reasonable and we definitely got our monies worth!

Is an upgrade offer of $79 per person from a oceanview to a balcony for a 7 night cruise a good deal?
A great deal. I am always on pins and needles waiting for that upgrade email. I upgraded from a mini-suite to a full suite on my upcoming coastal for 159.00 pp and am very excited! Have a great cruise!

We do the Coastal often and since we live very close to San Pedro, the LA Cruise Terminal, we either cruise out of LA or use it as the debarkation port. There is plenty for you to do in the LA/Orange County area if you fly in early, but I have to admit that SF is a beautiful city and you would have some great things to see there, too. We have never had a bad time on the Coastals and find them very relaxing. In fact, we are booked for one in November and one in May!
