Ha! We just had this same debate in our household for The November 5th on the Caribbean or the November 6th on the Regal. Same scenario - obstructed OV on the Caribbean or balcony on Regal. We had been on the Regal before, and while it was a nice ship, we weren't in love with it. We do really love having a balcony, but the extra day and the better itinerary for the Caribbean made us go with it over the Regal. Good luck.

BTW, we're hoping for a last minute upsell offer for a balcony, but I won't be disappointed if we don't get it.

The one we got was a handicapped room. I wonder if it had something to do with them having to hold it open until a certain amount of time before the cruise?

Yeah, I booked on the spot when she said $300! She offered us the other for $1000, which was more than I could spend.

Were you able to get a good deal? We booked a balcony guarantee for the 9/10 Escape sailing. Just called the up-sell number this morning and got a Haven Courtyard Penthouse for $300 a person. Seemed too good to pass up!

I see almost everyone says that they got their vibe passes early in the morning. We're flying in and won't arrive at the airport till almost 1 (for a 7 pm Escape sailing), so I'm thinking we don't have much chance to get them. Has anyone had success getting them in the afternoon? I saw someone posted they got on a waiting list and did get them - anyone else able to get passes this way?

If you liked the service on Celebrity, you should love HAL. We're about to do our second HAL cruise and it's mostly because of the service and experience we had. There wasn't a lot of nightlife, and the LGBT meetings were not well attended (ie, one other couple showed up twice), but overall we really enjoyed it. We unexpectedly really enjoyed the high tea service in the afternoon. When on a whim on day and we loved it. You'll have a great time!

Thanks guys. We've been to Key West before as a cruise stop. We have a couple of sea days and a stop in Cozumel where we probably won't get off the ship, so we'll be enjoying the ship's pool and areas on those days. I'm thinking we may go explore Key West in the morning and play it by ear if we want to do the island house.

Hey guys - have any of you done a day pass at the island house? We're going to be in key west from 8-5 on a Saturday and we're wondering if it's worth it to get one. Let me know what you thought if you've been there. Thanks!

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: It's the last balcony on the starboard side, so it juts out a bit on one side giving it a few extra square feet. Very handy if you want to get the foot stools out of the way and have a meal on the table. No real aft views, just out of the side of the ship. Completely covered, so not much sun exposure.

We're coming from Charleston, SC, but Jeffrey is originally from western NY.

We usually don't do a whole lot with excursions. Last time we were in Cozumel, we did the ruins at Tulum, which was really good. Not sure what we'll do this time. We usually take a taxi bus on Grand Cayman to Seven Mile Beach. We probably won't get off the ship in Jamaica, or if we do, we most likely will only be in the port area. What about you?

Yeah, we tried at first using the name, and then when that didn't work. For those wanting to use the app, go to the "my contacts" part of it and in the search box, it says "enter a folio number". This is the four digit number on your card. As soon as you put it in there, it adds that person's name to your list of contacts, as long as they've created an account.

We are just back from the Regal and used the messenger as part of the web based application since it didn't look like there was a downloadable app available. It works as long as you know the folio number of the person. You set them up as a contact and can then send them a message. The problem is that in its current state as a web based application, there is no notification when you get a new message. The other person has to periodically check. Not great for messages that need an immediate response, but great for things like "let's meet at Crooners at 7". Hopefully if they get an app, it will give you some kind of alert.

I think we will do St. John. We looked at doing the princess excursion, but they're on a wait list. They also seem pretty expensive compared to taking the ferry. Any experience with doing this? There appears to be two different ones.
