  1. NCL Getaway - February 26, 2017...first solo trip....forever in the future...but happy I'm booked!! - Erica

I went the other end of the spectrum and booked just over 2 months out for the Breakaway on 2/26, maybe we'll run into each other!

  2. I've only solo'd twice (third time coming this February), both on NCL ships with the Studios. It's a step in the right direction that NCL and other lines are offering solo cabins, but I think their efforts early on in the trip to get people staying in those cabins to mingle are a bit lacking. Maybe it was just the two cruise staff members I experienced, but when you have a room full of strangers who willingly show up to a meet-n-greet, have something to get a conversation or activity going! I'm normally a very social person once I warm up, and when I first meet people I tend to keep my mouth shut for a bit but warm up quickly. Not on these trips, it just all felt forced and awkward.

  3. I'll be going solo on Breakaway on the February 26 Bahamas sailing. Not staying in the Studios though. Liked them when I went to Bermuda but it seems like they're efforting to fill Inside, OV's and Balconies, because they're all currently cheaper than a studio with all the Free at Sea perks.

  4. Hi all, I'm Rob (27), cruising solo on Breakaway on 7/20/14. I've cruised quite a bit with my family growing up, but this will be my first solo cruise. Is anyone else going to be on this sailing? Anyone who has cruised Breakaway in the past have any advice for solo cruisers or must-do's on the ship or in Bermuda?

  5. Hi Everyone, I know it's a long-shot with the number of people on here, but I'm sailing on NCL Breakaway on 7/20/14, just wondering if there'll be any other younger solo travelers. The studio cabins all appear to be sold out, so I'm hoping for a chance to connect with some new people!

  6. Apologies, I made a random reference to a dated movie (Wayne's World) and my point didn't come across. I'm well aware of the differences between champagne and sparkling whites (I'm a big Moet drinker on-shore), and while I didn't answer your question, I wanted to share the one bit of helpful information I had found on the subject with that link.

  7. I apologize if this has been asked before or is over specific, but does anyone have experience with where the NCL coach bus service picks up at Union Station in Hartford? Is it where the rest of the buses stop there (between the actual building where Amtrak sells tickets and the parking lots) or is there some spot I've never seen in there before?

I'm sailing on the Breakaway on July 20, and my gut tells me that what I consider the front door is what NCL considers the back door, but I don't want to be the guy who holds up or (knock on wood that I don't) misses the bus because I was in the wrong spot, so any guidance is much appreciated!
