  1. how many pajama pants do i need grandma!!!'
  2. benjamin was never a president... are we thinking grant? jackson?
  3. well cash is obvious- the posters said and an envelope with cash in it. 🤣 but what else do they need, want?
  4. i have read a few people on here make up "care packages" little token gift bags for their crew members on board. the steward, maybe their waiter, a favorite entertainer, bartenders, etc... i've heard of nail kits, lip balm, etc. what are things you would put into these bags? i would love to do this as well...
  5. i do want to add- i don't feel i deserve any special treatment as a result of tipping more. i don't deserve anything more than anyone else gets. the person who deserves it is the person who receives the tipping. now whatever they do as a result of that tipping is on them. some do nothing extra or special... just like the people who didn't tip extra. some do extra because they appreciate what's done for them. it's what goes around comes around philosophy of life. deserved? nothing really is deserved more than the next person. open hands are receptive to more, closed fists have what they have.
  6. let's not call it bribery. let's call it recognizing those who work hard. whether or not it works as a bribe is debatable. recognition with compensation goes a long way. we are tipping because it makes us feel good to recognize people who deserve the money. do you think extra tipping should be banned? you take care of me, i take care of you. it's pretty simple.
  7. survival? oh yes, you can simply choose to survive or you can choose to thrive. i think calling it a bribe is the issue. do you believe that the people serving you, deserve to be tipped more than they receive? open hands are rewarded, not closed fists. i would never want to just survive.
  8. I have had to talk to a representative 2x regarding various things with my cruise/cruise package. They all ask- if its my first princess cruise. Which the answer is yes... I am sure they do this because they don't see any history of cruising with Princess. Are there any first cruise perks? Anything we should know about? Have you ever had anything "show up?" Anything we should know for our first cruise with Princess?
  9. I am going to chime in here. Tipping is an amazing bribe system that only people who aren't tight with the coin can understand. I tip because I watched my parents and sister tip everyone all the time. The service literally does go up a notch even when you aren't tipping every single time Head waiters- the people who seat you- the bartenders- the room steward- the person who does something extra special for you. A tip is remembered with a "nod", a handshake, a smile. All of this and saying names goes a long way. It's just a nice thing to do for someone making your day better; you make their day better with a little appreciation money. Get about $200 in 5s and $100 in 1s and practice tipping. You will become a celebrity, at least in your own mind. I don't even do it for the treatment or the perks, or anything other than wanting to help those helping me, and making their lives a little better, because I can. The perk does come because i treat them well and they treat me well. I want this to make sense to people. Those who get it, get it. Those who don't don't. I've literally walked into a restaurant and suddenly "my table" appeared because of my past "kindness". I've been on a cruise ship and snacks, and treats, and drinks "show up"... yes I am paying for them... but I'm also reciprocating the kindness. One day on my first cruise ever... this bartender was so kind to me and my wife, so I gave $20 on top of the package we had. You would have thought I was a celebrity the rest of the trip... sometimes none, sometimes a few extra dollars. Kindness and money go a long way. But, don't do it because you feel compelled. Do it because you are a good person.
  10. I will do all (3)... I understand the personal touch. Where is the nearest phone LOL
  11. Just rememeber there are 3 MDR. Davinci and botocceli are served by 1 kitchen and there is a stand alone kitchen (michaelangelo).
  12. We are interested in the Chef's Table. What is the fastest way to book it? People have said that they would have to go to their stateroom and dial DINING. What if your room isn't ready? Is there a faster way or a different way to book the Chef's Table? How many nights does the Chef have a table on a 7 day or 10 day cruise? Please let me know what you know!
  13. Hello, Has anyone had any experience with the Sanctuary packaged during a Glacier Bay cruise? I have a balcony; is it better to be in the Sanctuary or on your own personal balcony? My understanding is there is a higher charge during the scenic day than for regular days in the Sanctuary. What are your experiences with the Sanctuary in general? Thoughts please
  14. where did you locate that on the app?
  15. This is usually OK if you find a bartender that is cool or ok with doing it this way. They sometime let you order 2 drinks, sometimes they don't it really really depends on the attitude of the bartender. They are not supposed to.
  16. Hello, I am writing to ask anyone with experience having the Thermal Suite pass for their cruise to Alaska. Did you find value in this? Was the thermal suite something you would book again? Any other thoughts? An immersive thermal experience. Go solo or relax with friends and family. Unwind in an oasis of heated chambers, featuring warm and cool temperatures to cleanse and recharge the body. Elements of mist, rain, steam and warmth are designed to promote deep relaxation and renewal of vital energies. Pass valid for the entire duration of cruise. Roughly $20/day per person... for a 10 day cruise it would be $400 for a couple. Let me know. Also- we are on an Alaska cruise.
  17. Went on to see when we were going to be allowed to board... there were (3) boarding groups with 0 available time slots. When do you get assigned to a boarding group? Does the app ever open it up and give you opportunity to select your boarding group? When does that typically happen?
  18. What kind of shopping should we expect on board? What are the items that you like to buy? What items are there to buy? What kind of stores/merchandise are available? What are the prices like?
