  1. Hello all,

I plan to be in Hong Kong in Jan 2014. According to various cruise websites the Costa Victoria will be doing a 4 day roundtrip cruise out of HK on Jan 19th. However, this sailing is not on the Costa web site. Googling yielded limited information. I assumed it's chartered to local travel agency to sell? Anyone have any ideas how to get pricing and booking information on this cruise?

Also, what languages are spoken onboard this cruise (announcements, crew members, passengers)?

  2. For natural scenery...

    1. South America around the horn (Rio to Santiago): Pretty scenery + penguins!

    2. Norwegian Fjords (rountrip from London): sweeping landscape

    3. Norway + Iceland (roundtrip from London): two of the most scenic countries

    For history/culture...

    1. Easter Med (with athens, istanbul) (Rome to Venice): for ancient history

    2. Asia (Beijing to Singapore): So many awesome ports

    3. Baltic (roundtrip Copenhagen): just cuz I heard good reviews.

For warm weather and nice beaches..

    1) Tahiti! (roundtrip Papeete/Hawaii to Papeete)

    2) Queensland (roundtrip Sydney or Brisbane): Great barrier reef/coral sea

    3) Eastern Caribbean 10-Day (Roundtrip Ft lauderdale): the best islands usually start with "St." :)

  3. Thanks!

Do you think if I contacted corporate or one of the various email addresses I could get through to someone to purchase one from Princess directly?

The guys in the gift shop seemed bewildered when I asked where the "bigger models were". All he pointed out was a small one and an ornament. I'll poke around and see if anyone answers me. That, or I can drive across town to headquarters and literally walk into the Princess building. :p

Emily, I doubt that corporate headquarter will have inventory of ship souvenirs. I will be going on the Caribbean Princess in August. I can go to gift shop to look for you if you let me know what exactly you are looking for. P.S. great review of your British Isles cruise!

  4. Dont get me wrong, I love sea days too. But 4 sea days + 1 scenic cruising on a 10 day trip is perfect to me. When I'm retired, then I would prefer the 3 sea days at the end and save on the one way flight. If the 10day Alaska cruise straddles over two weekends, us working professionals will only need to take 6 vacation days !

With two more ships joining the fleet in the next two years, the company should add both the 14 LA roundtrip and the 10 days LA-Vanc Alaska itineraries!!
