  1.

I pay the gratuity if my service is good. If it is not, I have the RIGHT and OPTION to change it.

There's no obligation other than paying for the cruise. That is the fact.

They will never make it a mandatory service charge because they want to keep their price down.

It's all business. Business and profit.

Gratuities have been, are, and will always be DISCRETIONARY!

They can't make you pay them- it's your choice. It's your money.

  2. Oh, and by the way, why is there such focus on the fact that the bartenders actually measure the ingredients when they make cocktails? When I drink a cocktail, I want it to taste good, not be overpowered by the taste of booze.

Are people complaining about the strength of their drinks because they only want to get drunk? If so, skip the mixer and just order double shots, and maybe start with a beer or 2 from your mini-fridge before you leave your stateroom, just to get the buzz started.

    Just sayin'.

    How RUDE!!

    Just sayin'.

  3. Thank you so much for the replies. We are also in 4034 on Regatta. The pictures were very helpful. I do see a small table and at least one additional chair. Maybe I don't have to bring folding chairs as my carry-on! I'm sure we will have a lovely trip and if nothing else some great stories to tell! Thanks to all of you for your prompt replies!

Hoooray!! Have a fantastic cruise! a040.gif

  4. Yikes!! Surely this cannot be the way we have to live for 28 days! No sofa or table and only one desk chair? I know the online pictures do not depict the actual cabins exactly, but I believe that anyone's expectations would surely include a table of some sort and at least seating for two people. Can I request a table and chair as would be found in any other room to be brought into the empty space? I do not want to go chair shopping instead of local wine shopping on shore! Suggestions, as I am really questioning my choice of this cruise line at the present time.

Hi ! :D I found these 2 pics online. It's on the Regatta, though. Room 4034. Hope it helps!

  5. We are still trying to decide between the Oceania Riviera and Celebrity Reflection for our Eastern Mediterranean Cruise.

Mid-30's? Take Celebrity Reflection. I believe you'll be bored silly on O.

However, if you're a "Foodie", take O. You will lose your mind!! (In a good way) ;p

  6. Hi all,

We thought transfers were included in our cruise package on Regatta coming up soon, but they are not. How far is it to the cruise terminal from the Miami airport, and is a cab the only reasonable way to travel? How much time does this trip usually take? We should get in after morning rush hour.

    Thanks for your help.

  7. We found Terrace to be crowded and noisy, but not annoyingly so. What was disappointing was the lack of good service and clearing of tables. I believe there is a a training issue that needs to be addressed.

Hi Denise! :) Pat & I also found the Terrace Café to be VERY crowded. That's why we only ate there twice. We attributed it to the cold weather. The outside seating was always closed! There was no place else to sit. And to sit in the 'Waves' area would have been suicide it was so cold!

We'll be going on Insignia 8/20/2017 - 8/31/2017. It'll be thunderstorm season. Hopefully we'll make it to Bermuda this time. It was wonderful meeting you & Allan!! :D

  8. We've been very pleased with the results. In fact, the cheeseburger I ordered one afternoon on SIRENA last month was the best one I've ever had on ANY Oceania ship.

    Mura

Tell me about it, Mura!! I also had the black angus cheeseburger AND the fettuccine. They were both 'out of this world'. The Int'l cheese plate was another 'winner' and could have fed an army. It was HUGE!! :D

  9. I am currently on the Sirena; 10-day New York to New York. In spite of having to miss Bermuda due to weather, our experience onboard is very positive. The ship is beautiful, the crew friendly and competent and the food outstanding!

We were on the same cruise and I absolutely agree w/ you!! Although we froze our buns off @ the new ports character0080.gif The Sirena is now our favorite ship. EVER!! The crew was EXCEPTIONAL. The ship was GORGEOUS and the food was BEYOND BELIEF!! We never thought we would find a ship better than Seabourn Legend. Sirena NAILED IT!! a041.gif
