Hardly anyone uses a passport for 3/4 day cruises at PC, from our experiences seeing the lines
No lines at passport (facial recognition at 7:15am today)
As Mike says, takes 2 mins tops
But a long line at the birth certificate line
(not sure how long that takes)
People were walking off self assist before 7am
From stepping off ship to leaving terminal
9 minutes 😎
Oh wow. I’ll be using my passport so good to know this.

Keep in mind the facial recognition software occasionally has issues. When that happens, they revert to personally checking everyone’s passport like the “old” days, which leads to long lines in the terminal. I don’t think it happens too often, but I have been lucky enough to experience it three times in the last year (twice at Port Everglades and once at Port Canaveral). Thanks

I agree with better safe than sorry, but since you haven't cruised in a while, if you're not aware...
As long as you sailed with a Passport, going through customs now just means showing your face to a facial recognition screen for 2 seconds and then walking right through. I disembarked Allure on 10/30 and was out of the terminal in minutes. It goes very smoothly.
Really, that’s interesting. It’s been a while so yes this is new . Good to know, thanks

Yes, go for 7:30, better safe than sorry.
Okay thank you

I have an 8:30 shuttle that leaves by 8:30 when I depart Allure. I’m walking off with my luggage. How much time should I allow to get off and through customs ? I’m thinking 7:30? Haven’t cruised in a long while so I’m really unsure.
thanks in advance

Water purchased pre-cruise is standard bottled (plastic) water. Not sure of the brand but it is not Evian. We did have a one glass liter bottle of Evian in our room but we were in a suite .
It’s Evian water as I almost pre ordered it, look at the website for yourself.
-
I know if I pre- order water for my cabin they have Evian water and I’m not a fan .
the bottles of water in the Bain are the also Evian? -

We are on Allure next month.
my question is, am I able to book entertainment for the other couple I’m cruising with? We have the cruises linked for dining and I have their booking number, will I be able to book shows together?
or will I need to log onto their Royal account and do it ?
thanks in advance.

Take another test in a few days. If it’s still negative I wouldn’t worry about it.

Home test won’t cut it. Needs to be a lab test so they can see the positive result, need proof.
Anybody can say they tested positive to get a claim.
wont get a refund from Royal either, need a positive test result from a lab not home test- 2

Unfortunately mine is gone. It’s was only a $200.00 deposit so not a big deal. My TA sent them an email to double check and if they reinstate it great , if not no biggie.
No it wasn’t anything to do with Covid . -
I received an email from Royal stating they decide to change the FCC and it will no longer expire.
Thats cool even though mine did on April 30th. I did send my TA the email and he’s got in touch with RC so I’m hoping they reinstate my FCC. If they do it’s a plus but if not I’m okay with it , I’ll book something at some point regardless.

Perhaps, He already ordered strawberries? Perhaps, the particular ship has had issues sourcing strawberries? Perhaps, computers don’t always work?
who knows? Apparently not me or Royal.
You would think the person in the gift department who know something….oh well it was a nice thought
-
I have a question if anyone would know why this is.
I went online to order strawberries to my brothers cabin as he is cruising for his birthday. I got through the whole process until it was time to submit order, it won’t let me , the submit button is a light color and can’t be clicked.
I then called the Royal gifts department and the gal proceeded to do it for me but then said her system won’t let her. I have their reservation number and all the information as I’ve done this many times for people. I asked why is this, she said maybe talk to them because she can’t discuss their reservation……what? I did tell her that I’m not asking you to discuss their reservation at all just want to know why it’s unable to be done. Is there something people put on their account that forbids others to send gifts?
I want this to be a surprise and will have to ask my sister in law if need be.
anyone know why this would be?
thanks.

I got a free cruise on Breeze in 2014 . They were picking random people to give a free cabin to and I was one of them . You got to choose what ship and itinerary….made me happy!

No one missed the point. What's going on now is a sh***show with covid issues affecting performers, staff, etc. You've been on Oasis before, you know the kind of entertainment under "normal" conditions. Will it be normal in April/May, who knows?
OMG , well the ONE post might not have missed my point but I was referring to what’s being offered now due to Covid not bad weather issues. I know weather and other non Covid things can effect show and other activities.
thanks!

I think the point that was being made is that even with COVID not being a factor, there are always chances of extenuating circumstances... weather, technical problems, performer or crew illness or injury, etc.
There are no guarantees on any ship at any time -- book what you can live with and get on with your life.I get that , it’s not my first rodeo . Im familiar with cruising and how it works. I was wanting to know for Covid reason are they not in full swing yet and limiting certain amenities.
thanks -

Unfortunately, the aqua shows can cancel for lots of reasons, even weather
I’m aware of that as I’ve been a the Oasis class before. I’m speaking of what’s going on now . I guess you missed my point but thanks
-
I had read somewhere on here about aqua theater and many other forms of entertainment were not going on .
I’m looking to book and wanted to do an Oasis class or newer for these amenities.
Can anyone confirm that there is limited activities and shows ?
If that is indeed the case I might as well just take a super cheap cruise and just enjoy the sea and beach day. Just wanted to hear from people who’ve been on these ships before I choose. Looking at an April or May cruise and I do know things can change.thanks

Is Royal doing a limited amount of test at the terminal?

I buy a twin memory foam 1 1/2 inch topper from Target ,take it out of the box and put it in a bag and it goes in the overhead. If I fly in early I try and buy it there.
I always leave it behind for my cabin stew and they are always happy to take it for themselves. The bags from Marshals, Home Goods or TJ Max that they sell up by the registers for a buck work great. The topper is rolled up so it fits fine. I’ve only bought a twin so not sure about anything bigger.
I need a soft bed so it’s a priority for me. Might cost me $50.00 but I don’t care ….I want to sleep well.
