  1. I will follow up with my TA for a definitive answer but was curious what people's thoughts/experiences may have been

I booked with my DH under the Sip and Sail promo as did my friend . She is traveling as a solo cruiser in a balcony and is receiving the promo . Since she is essentially paying the price of 2 fares, but obviously is only one person, (and hence only drinking for one person) ...is she entitled to any OBC (similar to what one person would get back if he/she opted out of the sip and sail AIBP?

It was just a fleeting thought I had as I was reading this. Thanks

  2. Odd follow up question.... I believe there is an outlet underneath the bed when configured in a Queen?? Does anyone know what type of outlet this is. I know in the past, when in an inside cabin(if it makes a difference) I have wanted to plug in my noise machine close to the nightstand, and the only option I found was under the bed but it was not compatible with the US plug of the machine. Thanks!!

  3. I have only done the winemakers. We loved it and have done it twice. I felt like it was a great experience at a great value. As other's have said, alot of food, so I was not wanting for more. It was an intimate elegant setting. We felt special while doing it. I certainly don't feel like we were missing out on anything by doing that instead of the CT.

  4. To reinforce the answers already provided... I too take a generic bonine daily and drink while doing so. I do find that I often feel tired and a tad bit drowsy, but think it is a combination of sun, ocean movement, the medication, a few cocktails... it's my escape completely feeling:D... true relaxation

  5. I can't imagine there actually being a "traditional sail-away drink". People drink different things. The "traditional" drink could be anything from a Strawberry Daiquiri to Gin and Tonic to Bourbon to Budweiser to Diet Coke. People drink different things.

I have sailed a twice on Carnival many years ago, and since have sailed on Princess over 15 times... I do recall Carnival really hyping their drink of the day, and they would walk around with them pre-prepared in a souvenir cup. While Princess has a drink of the day, it does not seem they push it as much. I do recall on my recent several sail always, the wait staff were walking around with trays of a mango madness type cocktail. So I guess that could be the equivalent of a "traditional sail-away drink."

Thrak, I had to raise an eyebrow at your "less people sailing on Princess with tattoos" sentiment as both my DH and I each have several and feel quite at home on the Princess line (and I have NEVER vomited on a cruise and don't curse) but I think I get where you were trying to go with it.

  6. Happy to hear it has been reinstated... I too figured it would, so was not concerned to the point of cancelling my medallion cruise for Feb 2018. I would prefer to wait until onboard to purchase it so that I can use OBC, but part of me wants to err on the side of caution and purchase it now "just in case" those in the offices at Princess decide to change their minds.

  7. I will echo the sentiment; we have watched it at MUTS and it was a great time, like a giant super bowl party, but picture the caribbean breeze, sunsets, and lots and lots of people. We really enjoyed it! There was a little buffet set up on the deck.

  8. Thanks so much everyone for the replies... I forgot the fact that the coffee cards work on the punch system for specialty coffees and in turn don't expire, that might be the route we go and save them for future cruises where we won't be purchasing the AIBP. I see several mini bottles of liquor just sitting around the house if we brought them home. So it will be coffee or a bottle of wine (for those moments when are just feeling a bit lazy and don't want to go walk alllllll the way to a bar for a drink ;)).

  9. Hello everyone, I have just reached elite status and have a question regarding making changes to the mini bar setup. I realize there are many options including switching types of liquors, coffee cards, bottle of wine, etc.

My question is, as we will likely be purchasing the AIBP, is there any way to get the value of the perk as an onboard credit? I doubt it, and don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, so will likely just replace it with a bottle of wine but just thought I would ask. Thanks!!!

  10. This cruise was a last minute vacation since we had to cancel our all inclusive Mexico vacation due to an illness. This will be our 13 th cruise and my husband and I decided to make it a no stress vacation. No excursions planned and no dressing for formal night. I am still very excited to go casual. Eat at the buffet or Alfredos at night. I think this will be my most relaxing cruise. Anyone else ever do this?

I LOVE the act of planning a cruise. But I have done a last minute cruise, where we skipped formal night, didn't plan for anything and just went with the flow. While it was a drastically different experience we enjoyed it... although my husband does now like the buffet for dinner, while I LOVE the MDR experience. I have had to sacrifice one night on each cruise we have done since that to do the buffet for dinner.

  11. I just purchased the package ahead of time for my Caribbean sailing and it was $99 jumping up to $199 on board. It was certainly worth it. We too asked to take multiple shots so that we would have plenty of prints, didnt try to ask for an additional copy but feel like some photographers would have, some would not. We really enjoyed it, especially taking lots of silly shots that we never would have purchased if not for the package (they wound up being our favorites).

  12. On a cruise last year on the Royal, we did not eat in the dining room on the formal night they served one of the Norman Love desserts i was dying to try. I called room service later in the night to inquire if there was any way to get one of the desserts. They were able to deliver one to my room. Nice touch

  13. I actual do recall a white night on one of my cruises several years ago. It was the deck party, but was certainly hyped as a white party... It was a very young cruise director, not sure of his name, but perhaps that was why. It was fun, and a great deal of people did in fact wear white

  14. Thanks for the replies... didnt think my acronym would be so controversial ;) I didn't even make that connection. I thought I had seen that abbreviation used for winemakers dinner before. I guess I was really wondering is what dchip suggested. Could it be turned into OBC then applied to the winemakers. I do realize that it osts more. I have done it before and really enjoy it. Just thought since I would be on Regal I would try for that over the crown grill.

  15. I agree with the options of an excursion post cruise or doing EZ check and then taking the water taxi around town. I have done both for later flights. The water taxi is great because it is more than a transportation means, it is a nice relaxing tour/cruise around the area. You can literally just sit and relax and check out the sites. A great way to wind down a cruise in my opinion. We just did that a couple months ago, along with EZ check. We got off at the stop for the hilton marina, grabbed a cab and were in the airport with enough, but not too much, time to spare.

  16. I have a couple of bottles of the lotion left and use it sparingly.. the scent totally takes me away to a cruise ship!! This thread made me laugh knowing that I am not alone.. my DH thinks I am crazy cause when I put it on, I will ask him if the smell makes him happy.

  17. I did the 10 day partial and enjoyed it. Based on Bill B48's advice, we did the excursion on the ferry through the additional locks and agree this was a GREAT way to get different perspective on the canal. I too read about the building of the canal before we went. I truly don't feel like I missed out on anything and would not hesitate to do the 10 day again.

  18. I was so excited to see your review; it was me and my DH who shared the cab to VCB with you! I forgot about Dr Sal:D. I agree with all of your impressions and it is always fun reading a review of a cruise you were on to bring back the memories. We also went to Nikky beach and was very skeptical at first, but wound up really enjoying ourselves. We walked there too an boy was it hot. We took the free beverage instead of the ride back; we took the drink to go and walked along the water as far as we good, stopping at a couple of cute waterfront bars along the way, it made the walk much more enjoyable.

Glad to see you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did!!

  19. On the regal last month they were not allowing anyone to take unopened beers. All beers that were purchased as part of the promotion were opened right then and there.
