  1. I survived a car accident that killed my DH. It was then that I realized just how precious our family and our lives are. I have since remarried and we have cruised together, taken our kids and grandkids too. To the poster who takes their kids out of school - good for you. We sailed with our 4 grandchildren to Mexico and the memories are so vivid. We were on Pride, eating dinner next to a big window at the very aft. The sun was going down and as it disappeared "under the sea" my 7 year old grandson said "Wow, this is way better than Disneyland". Life is so short. I wish every "too hard working person" would realize that and get out and enjoy.

  2. Went to Samana in 1980 and took the tour to Cayo Levantado. I thought it was the most beautiful place on earth. The white sand beach and the beautiful clear water was great. I promised myself I would go back there sometime - have not made it yet but will. I am sure things have changed a lot since then but the beauty must still be there.

  3. Adam,

Do plan another cruise - you will be amazed at the differences. My girlfriends and I were at the lowest of low staterooms on Carnivale (inside) but we had so much fun and that was the beginning of my cruise history. I waited 13 years to cruise again on Nordic Prince and that is small by todays standards. I guess it is not the size of the ship but the whole experience and we are hooked.

  4. I don't understand why Princess gives out these handicap staterooms in the first place. With so few of them couldn't they wait until after the final payment to release these (or upgrade). I agree with previous poster also. The OP waited until there was only 1 balcony available?? If they can't book earlier, then they take what is left.

  5. BenBilly, that bathroom sounds like the one we had on Carnivale! We also had an inside quad (if you can believe that). I don't think 2 people could have been in that bathroom at the same time. Could use the toilet AND take a shower at the same time. You had a chair??? You were lucky. We sat on the bottom bunks and at one point my girlfriend opened the closet and sat in there. We had a description of our cruise - "Stand in line, climb stairs, change clothes, and eat". We could not dry our hair or use curling irons either. We had to go to the room provided on each level for things like that. But we were 4 recently divorced 30 something's and we had so much fun. Will remember that trip forever.

  6. Oh the memories sailing on Carnivale with my 3 single girlfriends. Getting lost in the hallways. Our waiter feeding my friend her dessert because she said she was full. Going to the "room" to dry our hair and use our curling irons because we could not do that in the stateroom (even if there was room). I love the new modern cruise ships but I will never forget that sailing and all the fun we had. I thought we just just the luckiest girls to be able to afford that ($750.00 inluding air to Miami).

  7. We have all of Iz's CD's - his voice is truly amazing. We have them in our car and play them all the time. He also did a video of his songs which he sang at different locations in the Islands. My DH is Hawaiian and he introduced me the Hawaiian music - I love it.
