  1. I had a guarantee cabin booked for a March cruise and received my cabin assignment about a week before the cruise. It was the most forward cabin on the deck. We were traveling with another couple who got a guarantee midship on the same deck. There were still unassigned cabins closer to our friends and I called the generic 800 number on the princess website and asked for a cabin change and the person who answered was so nice and changed my cabin to one of the unassigned cabins closer to my friends and It took all of 5 minutes. All documents were immediately updated with the new info.

  2. My last two cruises on carnival the food was much better than RCI. I love the RCI ships and you can always find something to eat but during my 8 day cruise the MDR food was not very good. The one exception was the MDR lunch and tutti salad which was very good. I read conflicting reviews on cruise line food so this was only my opinion.

  3. I have not done a Med cruise but have been multiple times to Spain. I would recommend that in Vigo you take an excursion to Santiago de Compostela rather than walk around Vigo. Barcelona is definitely a place where you should take an excursion there is so much to see. Malaga is a beach town with lots of condos so I would either stay on the ship or take an excursion to Granada to see the Alhambra Palace. Seville is pretty interesting for an excursion. These are my don't miss places in Spain. I'll be interested to hear what others have to say and I would love to be on this cruise. I know this is the opposite of what you asked but hope it helps.

  4. The demographics of any ship including the Glory depends on when you cruise. We just got off the Glory February 13 and the majority of cruisers were of retirement age. If you are going during Spring break you can expect more families, children and college students. Give it a try. There was one bar by the main pool that got kind of rowdy at times but you can just move to a different area. We had a great time in the Glory and she was one of the cleanest ships I have been on. Also the MDR food was good if not better than our RCI Freedom of the Seas trip in November. The buffet was not great and if you eat lunch late the food was warm to cold. But hey there is pizza, burgers, sandwiches and Mexican food available everyday.

  5. Just got off Glory on Saturday and had a cabin on Riviera deck. Everyone on Riviera deck who did not have an early flight before 12 got debarkation number 30 to 35. I just went to the Guest Services desk and asked for an earlier debarkation number. We wanted to be in Fll airport by 12 and got off the ship with number 20 at 9:30 after eating one more breakfast, breezed through customs in 20 minutes and took the Carnival shuttle and was in FLL by 11:30. Our cabin steward said we should be out of the cabin by 8:30. So you should not have a problem with either of your time lines. I thought the Glory debarkation was one of the best and most organized we ever had. Have fun. We hated to leave the ship.

  6. I just got off the Glory on Feb 13 and I have to agree that the entertainment was lacking. The playlist production singers were not that great and sometimes off key. On the final Epic Rock show I thought there was some lip syncing. One guitar player Eric was excellent but I believe he is leaving the ship and the band Glory Days was good but everything else was not worth listening to. We did have a great cruise, the crew was fantastic as were our waiters. But I have definitely seen better entertainment.

  7. I am going on Carnival Glory in a few days and in my online booking under The Fun Shops (not beverages) you can order caffeine free Diet Coke to be delivered to your room. It is expensive at 10.00 for a six pack but if you don't want to carry on diet drinks the caffeine free ones are at least available on my cruise.

  8. Have stayed multiple times on Riviera deck on conquest ships with no problems. With cabins above you its quiet and the cabins are larger because the sides of the ship curve out. On one cruise In rough seas our friends were in a balcony cabin higher up and were quite sick from the motion. We had no problems. You might hear some noise when the ship is coming into ports and docking but this never bothered us.

  9. The same thing happened to us on our November cruise on Freedom. Our reservations were linked with my brother and his wife but we were assigned different levels of the dining rooms. I went directly to the dining room and spoke to the maitre d as soon as I got on the ship and the maitre d assigned us a table together. It was easy and the maitre d was very agreeable.

  10. I have to agree with the poster who said the MDR dinner food was hit or miss. I was on the same cruise as part of a group of 6. We all were disappointed with the food in the MDR. Some nights it was ok but other nights the meals we selected were terrible. I could give some specific examples of what we did not care for and possibly if we ordered a different entree it would have been ok. We did enjoy lunch in the MDR on sea days and thought that was very good. By the last cruise day we just no longer wanted to eat In the MDR and instead went to the Windjammer. On that night the food in the Windjammer was excellent. And more to our liking than some of our MDR meals. We all had a fantastic cruise and think the ship is beautiful. We especially enjoyed the Solarium and never had a problem finding a table. And I would definitely cruise Freedom again. But I would probably eat dinners in the Windjammer. I have only posted a few times but these previous comments made me want to add my opinion. I have cruised Princess, Carnival, Holland America, NCL and RCI.

  11. We have stayed at the Radisson by the Port several times and thought it was very nice. We would definitely go back. I have never seen a bug. The rooms are clean and the pool area is very pretty and a nice place to sit and enjoy a coffee while waiting for the free shuttle. The breakfast buffet is ok but we prefer eating dinner at one of the restaurants that is located about 15 minutes from the hotel on the water. We ate seafood at Fishlips but there are about four different restaurants in the same area. The hotel staff gave us directions to the restaurants. Enjoy your cruise.

  12. We cruised Carnival from Port Canaveral in October on Carnival Liberty. The embarkation was so efficient that we arrived at the port at 12:00 noon and were on the ship in 30 minutes. We stayed at the Radisson by the Port and used their free shuttle. We did not have fttf.

  13. My husband and I stayed in an ocean view room on Riviera deck on the carnival Liberty and we loved it. There are only cabins above you and it was very quiet. Also looking out the window you are very close to the ocean so you get a good view of the ocean every time you look out. The ocean view cabins on the deck above riviera deck are under areas that could cause noise in the cabin. We have stayed in balcony, interior and mini suite cabins as well as ocean view. We would definitely stay in the Riviera deck again. Oh it was so quiet and there was never an issue getting an elevator. Have fun and don't worry about your cabin location.

  14. We were in the Island Princess last year and had a wonderful cruise. When considering which deck to select I would consider if you want a covered balcony, a partial covered balcony or a completely covered balcony. Not sure how to post a link but there is a website that has this information or Princess can tell you which decks have which type of balcony. I always get a covered balcony because I have had a melanoma but lots of cruisers like the uncovered ones.

  15. We were just in cabin 1237 on the Rivera deck. This was the first time we ever stayed on a lower deck and we loved it. When you looked out the window the ocean was right there as if you were just floating across the waves. The window was even washed during our cruise. I don't mind staying forward and consider all the walking to be my exercise. And we had a great cruise.

  16. We also had a fantastic Southern Caribbean cruise on the Liberty over Halloween. Our waiters in the upper Golden restaurant were among the best we have had on any cruise. The ship was clean and the staff very friendly. The only issue was the smoke from the casino. Carnival definitely does need to figure out a way to vent the cigarette smoke away from the promenade area.
