  1. It seems to be quite the crap-shoot.

I'll just view it as Christmas morning - either it's there and it's a huge bonus! or it's not, and oh well, next time... (but I'll have my fingers crossed really really tight as I look for it on the ship!)

  2. I just found this review when googling for the funtimes.

I cannot say enough HOW GREAT THIS REVIEW IS!!!! I'm going on the Paradise on 9/2/2013 with my parents, my husband and my daughter, and you covered everything I'd need to know!!!!

Of course, now I'll anxious because I'm already trying to figure out how to do everything I want to do!!! LOL!!!

Thank you for taking the time to do this!

  3. Would you be so kind as to come back and let us know if this works out for you? I will be platinum on my next cruise, too, but I was thinking that they would look at (1) Did you book with a Mastercard (check) and (2) are you applying for the correct level of OBC (gold vs platinum vs diamond). Since my current VIFP says "gold," I didn't know if trying to claim the platinum $200 would just have them kick my registration out. DH will still will be gold on this cruise, so I decided to register under his name for the $50. Then, I thought, what the heck, maybe they will approve platinum $200 for me since my documents already say "priority" and "platinum," so I re-submitted under my name. I know it says one per cabin. I'm just hoping to get one or the other. Fifty would be good, but $200, of course, would be better.

My cruise is 9/2, which is my first platinum cruise.

If I get the $200 OBC, I will definitely come back here and shout it from the rooftops!!!

  4. I went ahead and filled out the registration form and saw the "Thank you" confirmation.

Just went into my sailing and added my Mastercard for my onboard account.

Hoping to receive some sort of real confirmation.

Last time they did this, I was indeed able to see my OBC before I sailed. So hoping to see it this time!!! And I'm REALLY hoping that because I will be platinum, that I get the platinum $200!!

  5. From the US Customs and Border Patrol website

Lawful Permanent Residents of the U.S. must present a Permanent Resident Card ("Green Card", INS Form I-551), a Reentry Permit (if gone for more than 1 year), or a Returning Resident Visa (if gone for 2 years or more) to reenter the United States. U.S. LPRs do not need a passport to enter the United States as per (8 CFR 211.1(a)), however, they may need a passport to enter another country. Please contact the embassy of the foreign country you will be traveling to for their requirements. While CBP does not require the passport as noted above, the airlines may have their own requirements, please check with your airlines prior to travel. Also, travel documents for LPRs do not need to be valid for any certain amount of time. Your LPR card only needs to be valid on the day that you are entering the US.

    [emphasis mine]

So it does indeed sound as if he can cruise,,, but what I take from this is that OP, you would need to find out the requirements of each of the countries the ship is visiting. I believe that if he wouldn't be allowed in one of those countries, he wouldn't be allowed to board.

Now, I would wager a bet, that because so many people have cruised with just a green card, is that probably the majority of the Caribbean ports would allow passage. Just a thought.

  6. In 25 years here in Nassau.. I've never seen a route map.

From Bay Street (George Street) to Cable Beach and return -- Bus Numbers: 10, 10A

I have a question - looking for the #10 Jitney at Bay & George street - at that point, isnt' Bay Street one way, towards the cruise port?

Where exactly do we pick up the #10 going inthe right direction out towards the Fish Fry?

    Thanks!

  7. I found out the answer, so I'm going to post in case anyone else ever wondered.

For the Stingray & snorkel, we took a boat, pulled up to the beach, and got into the water there.

For the SNUBA, I was told we take a ten minute van ride, and enter the water right from the beach.

  8. I have searched, and have tried to find this answer, but can't.

Can anyone tell me if, on the SNUBA excursion, you take a boat out, and then if you enter the water from the beach, or if you drop into the water from the boat?

Anyone who has done the SNUBA, and ALSO the Gibbs Cay Stingray, are the logistics similar in nature? (aside from the obvious difference between snorkel and snuba).

    Thank you for any info!

  9. I created this thread for all your questions, comments, stories, pics etc about the Carnival Breeze.

Btw don't you think the interior designers did a great job with the ship?

I have to tell you - I smile every time I see your signature - Nordic Prince was my very first cruise in 1992. I never wanted to cruise, but I won a free one so my best friend and I went, and had an amazing time! (and we thought that ship was big - LOL!!!)

  10. That "Village Bar" in 2007 was totally vacant in September 2007, and in 2010 it was still vacant and overgrown with grass and weeds, and then much to my suprise in February 2011 it was a fixed up and it was a bar!!!!!

Thank you for that - we were there in September of 2010, and as people are talking about this place, I"m like "Where the heck was that???"

Definitely looks like a place to try out!
