  1. I just now checked and discovered if you are purchasing the cheers program online pre cruise you now can use gift cards as a form of payment! I couldn't get the system to work using firefox browser, so I opened up IE and went through the motions like I was going to purchase Cheers and walla, just like magic, option appeared to "use gift card"!!! :D

I didn't continue yet because I'm waiting on gift cards to come in the mail, but I wanted to post this experience. I know it's been a real issue for some to pay once on board using gift cards and receiving the pre cruise discounted price. Happy cruising everyone!!!

  2. Thanks for the replies. Looks like taxi will likely be our choice. I like the idea of not having to plan ahead. Looking forward to not having to be among the first to get off the ship this time. The last cruise I think our flight was AA at like 10:50 am. We were off the ship very early, walked up to a taxi and headed to MIA before 8 am.

Last cruise we flew out of MIA on the same AA flight then went separate ways at DFW. This cruise we'll go separate ways at MIA, so will be nice to not be so rushed getting off the ship and getting to the airport :)

  3. Sailing the glory in November, hoping they don't take out the fish and chips place, it's a hidden gem!

Totally agree with you on the fish and chips! Have been looking forward to revisiting it when we cruise April 29, 2017. Was a favorite for the bouillabaisse when we cruised on the Glory April of 2015.

  4. Good morning! Finally have everything falling in place for an upcoming cruise late April into May. I am cruising with my sister who lives in Colorado, flying from and back to Denver. I live in Kansas and will fly from and back to Wichita.

On return we fly out of MIA on the day we get off the cruise. My sister will be flying on Frontier 1:35 pm and I will be flying on American Airlines 2:00 pm. Looking at the MIA map, it looks like American uses terminal D and Frontier uses terminal G.

Here's my question. Would it be best to use taxi, shuttle service, or Carnival's shuttle for the transfer from POM to MIA? Or maybe someone out there has other suggestions for transfer. I'm guessing we'll need to be dropped off at separate terminals to check in for our flights??? We do have FTF and have in the past kept our luggage and gotten off early doing the self assist debark, but this time our flights are not so early that we will feel a need to be in the first group off the ship. One time we walked off and right up to a shuttle service, waited just a bit for the van to fill up and were whisked off to the airport. Last cruise we had flights leaving before noon, so we opted for a taxi to get to the airport.

Just wanting to dot the final i and cross the last t on this cruise ;) Any input and/or suggestions are appreciated.

  5. Hi,

I've only cruised with Carnival once quite a long time ago, but we've now booked a Mediterranean cruise on the new Vista ship September 2016. We booked a premium vista aft balcony (9C), cabin #8470. We really like aft cabins and the wrap around balcony sounds wonderful.

I'm hoping you'll tell me what other ship is most like this new Vista, and which ship's premium vista balcony cabins are most like what will be on the new Vista so I can go look at some pictures. Any other info on that type of cabin would be much appreciated. Is this 9C cabin bigger than a regular balcony cabin or is it just the balcony itself? I know the lay-out of the cabin is different for obvious reasons. We're excited to go to the Med for the 1st time and excited to try this new ship and Carnival again.

This is amazing... I am in the exact same cabin 8/06!!

We are in the exact same cabin for the 12/31 sailing from Miami. The more "real" pictures I see of the aft - the more concern i am having. The balcony looks small to non existent and there are fewer windows than shown on the different mock up sites. :( Hoping for little or no music noise from the Havana area - do you think that will be an issue?

I have the exact same cabin booked for 12/10/17, plus my sister and brother-in-law have the premium balcony next to it and two nieces in the interior cabin across the hall. I'm anxious to see photos and reviews in the near future!

  6. I am looking at the Southern Caribbean cruise out of San Juan quite a ways into the future, April 2017. It will be me and my sister going on our 4th Sisters Cruise. She lives in Colorado and I live in Kansas. She will fly out of Denver and I will fly out of Wichita. We previously have cruised out of Miami and fly in the day before. Is it still best to fly in to San Juan the day before cruise? And where is a good place to stay in Old San Juan near the Port? Thanks in advance for your replies.

  7. We absolutely LOVED 8428! The balcony is IMHO the best on the ship - you have a short aft portion, the diagonal, and a long port covered balcony. The cabin had a lot of room - they'll tell you it's the same size as regular balcony cabins, but it certainly felt larger.

Glad to hear how much you loved the cabin. It's me and my sister who cruise. Only seem to be able to swing it every 2 years. Definitely think the aft wrap cabins are worth the extra!

  8. I ordered one back in March and realized I never got a receipt/email confirming the purchase. The charge does appear on my credit card bill' date=' of course! I just hope it shows up when we sail in 9 days.

This was my first purchase from the online fun shops. Can I expect it to be waiting in my cabin or will it be delivered later in the cruise?[/quote']

I just got back from a cruise last Saturday. Mine was in my cabin waiting for me. Also I had never gotten a receipt or email confirming the purchase and like you said the charge was on my credit card. I did call the fun shops before I left on the cruise and they did email me a receipt. Enjoy your cruise and your high seas tote package. :)

  9. Thinking about booking one of the Premium Vista View balcony cabins on Carnival Victory and just wondering if anyone knows if they have a mini fridge in the cabin. In 2013 I was on the Victory in a regular balcony and there was not a mini fridge in the cabin back then. Just wondering if Carnival has added mini fridge since dry dock and 2.0 upgrade. In fact, if anyone has any first had knowledge of exactly what was added in the most recent dry dock, I would be so appreciative. Thanks in advance for replies! :)

  10. I purchased this also, but never got an e-mail confirmation from Carnival. Charge has shown up on credit card. Is this the norm? Or should I be contacting Carnival for some sort of receipt/confirmation the package will be in our cabin? First time I've ever purchased anything through Fun Shops.

Thanks in advance for replies, and thank you to OP for letting us all know about this deal.

  11. From what I have heard, they are a little different because the American Table has a special "Port of Call" section, which is a drink, app, and entree specific to the Port of Call of the day. So, for example, Cozumel would have a Mexican specific selection, while Nassau would have more a Bahamian selection.

Thank you! That totally makes sense! :D

  12. My sister and I are doing a private jeep tour when we go to Cozumel in April on our next cruise. The private jeep tour is only $12 more than the bar hop price and includes entrance fee for Punta Sur, beer, soda, bottled water and lunch. We can pick where we want to go on the other side of the island and anywhere else on the island we want to go. The tour is 5-5 1/2 hours long. You can check it out at "cozumel cruise excursions dot net"

  13. jpm1073,

What a great review! Truly enjoy every sentence I read. I will be on the Glory late April, 2015 on the Western Caribbean itinerary. It's the 3rd sisters cruise for me and my sister, and literally our 3rd cruise too! Our 2nd sisters cruise we were on the Victory which ported at Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk. We both loved both of those ports and would go back in a heart beat, but have chosen the Western itinerary since we have only been to one of the ports (Cozumel) previously, but not during a cruise. We too rented the cabana at Half Moon Cay and fully enjoyed it.

Anyway, love reading what you have to say about the Glory and all of your experiences. My sister and I have splurged and booked an aft wrap balcony. :D

Congrats on winning the slot tourney! Love the fact that you cruised with your Mom! My sister and I also live in different states which seems to make these special sisters cruises even more special. We will be flying in to MIA the day before our cruise, and have a hotel reservation near POM. ;)

Anxious to read what's yet to come in your review. It helps satisfy my undying "can't wait" feeling! :)

  14. Thanks for the responses. Got it booked! Serene56, thanks for the idea to check FLL. The only flights out of there that were less expensive were all early morning which wouldn't be doable.

Thrilled everything is totally done! All excursions booked and hotel in Miami for the night before :D And now both flights!!! Gonna be a great cruise!!!

  15. Everything bought and paid for except for my return flight at the end of my April 25, 2015 cruise. We cruise on the Glory out of Port of Miami. Looking right now and can get a decent rate with departure at 10:52 AM. I know Carnival's site recommends earliest flights out of MIA 11:30. I have FTTF and have always done self assist. I know last cruise we were off the Victory before 8 and I think we got to the Miami airport around 8:30.

    Any thoughts and/or past experiences?
