  1. We are Platinum but cruising in September with a first time cruising couple. If they get FTTF do they go in the same door as us ? Thx.

The answers so far are correct EXCEPT once you enter the terminal the FTTF people had a separate line from PRIORITY to do actual check-in This was for the BC9 cruise this Feb. Don't know if just this cruise was different but do know PRIORITY went in one line and FTTF in another.

  2. I have been on the Sunshine and will not be sailing her again. Sit on toilet and feet are in the shower, it's OLD and even with the updates I felt it was OLD. While I enjoyed the cruise, I did not enjoy the actual ship. The Lido was crowded most of the time I went through. We were in a 4J on deck 7 and yes, the room is smaller than other Carnival ships. No refrig as it was not one of the added rooms. YES, we did have the sewer smell in various places on the ship, thankfully not in our cabin. I'd take the Magic over Sunshine any day. That's my opinion.

  3. Just off Freedom 7 day. I had the Social package for $25 for the cruise plus the $5 for the cruise chat. Social was so I could post pictures on Facebook. Hubby had the $5 chat only. You can only chat with someone who also has the chat. You do get a notification plus it pops up on the phone screen. I will say that people I knew as well as myself had a problem with the Social portion at times plus the chat was suppose to be instant. Problem was for some reason we would get kicked off and have to sign back in. Overall we enjoyed it and will do the same on our next cruise.

  4. Our time in Roatan was fantastic and I fully give our tour guide, TEX, the credit. He showed us the island and with the activities we wanted to do that covered it from end to end. He loves his island and it shows in how he presents it to others. TEX was very courteous, knowledgeable, did whatever we wanted ,when we wanted and was a very safe driver. Absolutely loved the Mangrove Tunnels and Glass Bottom Boat tours where TEX waited for us to return. When I became extremely tired he arranged for security to take both of us in wheelchairs to the ship.

I highly recommend Victor Bodden Tours and TEX and this is the very best way to tour Roatan.

  5. I've brought my scooter on several cruises. As I have to have someone push me if in a wheelchair, the scooter gives me freedom - as well as hubby. You might wish to check with a local dealer as when I didn't have my own scooter available I found them much cheaper than renting through one of the companies listed with Carnival. ALSO, keep in mind if you use a company instead of bringing one with you, you will have to get Carnival to bring a wheelchair to board.

I don't know if your wife uses a scooter, but just as information, while a 3 wheel is less stable (easier to tip if making a quick turn) it also turns shorter and is easier to maneuver. I've had both kinds,

OK to bring a power strip WITHOUT a built-in serge protector. Serge protector are on the do not bring list.

  7. There should be a place to say when and where you want it delivered. The white cake with strawberry filling is WONDERFUL.

NO, you do not need a color printer. I simply print out, fold as instructed and staple the tag around the luggage handle. I also put a copy of the luggage tag INSIDE on the top so if it is opened, they still have the tag info.

  8. What John Heald actually posted was "Jacksonville on Wednesday for a big press thing about your Carnival Vista". I question why Jacksonville for a big press thing about the Vista as there is no way the Vista can port there UNLESS they are building the port at a new location. Yes, there is a place it could be built but so far Jacksonville hasn't been on board on moving anything. We shall see. Wish he would announce exactly where and what time as there are a lot of us who would be there in person.

  9. Sitting on our balcony waiting to leave Charleston. It is chilly- wearing fleece and jeans. Watching a pod of dolphins swim by and listening to sea gulls. I needed this!

We are in Charleston for an entirely different reason than a cruise. Crossing the bridge I'm on the phone ordering me a Bloggers 9 tee and hubby points out the window. The Carnival cruise ship was at the dock. It did make me wish I was onboard.

  10. Got a good laugh from your post. We don't cruise until 20 FEB yet several nights ago I had an awful dream. In this dream we drove to a port - and not one we've ever been to and no doubt doesn't even exist - driving right up next to the dock with just feet to walking aboard. Have no clue how we were going to do a check-in as there was no building or counters anywhere. As we were about to get out of the car I was looking for our passports and in this dream not only did we NOT have the passports, we didn't have our extra cash and the suitcase was like an overnight bag. Woke up in a sweat and told my sweet hubby about this dream. He assured me that with our checking and double-checking we would have our money and passports.

Funny part is I keep a copy of everything on my phone plus make a notebook with copies of all. Our passports are in the safe and go into my carryon a couple of days prior to packing. Have to say that while I know WHAT I'm taking and have checked that everything is washed, I don't pack until the morning before actually leaving home. The night before we run down our mental list and put our hands on the passports AND the notebook. Never have left something we planned on taking.

Since we live in a smaller town where if Walmart doesn't have it then you can't get it, for our last cruise we did plan on stopping in a big city about 100 miles from home to purchase a spare camera battery rather than make a special trip to get one. Funny thing is I actually took almost all our pictures with my phone camera so could have done without the spare battery. We don't do beaches but for our cruise next month have booked Passion Island so will take the camera and leave the phone in the safe. I could live without the camera but my phone has way too much on it to loose, and yes, I make sure there is a backup on a regular basis and on the night prior to leaving home.

  11. Has anyone had luck finding the carnival cards? I have been looking for about two weeks now in all my local Krogers because with the double fuel points I figured it wasn't a bad deal. I haven't been able to find any around me though, and I have tried 3 of my local Krogers.

I guess I might have to load the coupon and go looking at a couple of other locations.

Look no further. Go to Customer Service (I'd deal with a supervisor) and have them ORDER THE CARDS from their warehouse. That is what I ended up having to do. They WILL honor the extra fuel points. I was looking when they offered 4X fuel points. Cards came in the following Wednesday and yes, they honored the 4X fuel points.

  12. I booked this past FEB while on the Sunshine. Went EARLY in the cruise and had no problems. The agent was very pleasant and knew what he was doing. Am planning on booking again this FEB while on the Freedom but would really rather have the certificates come back. I know John Heald has asked about them being brought back so that may happen.

  13. Guests who are part of our Priority Program (Diamond, Platinum and suites), have purchased transfers with Carnival or 'Faster to the Fun' must still select a window online, but are invited to come at their leisure, up to one (1) hour prior to sailing. Departure times can be found on your boarding pass.

Guests who arrive prior to their check-in window will not be permitted to enter the cruise terminal and will be asked to return at their scheduled check-in time. This will be strictly enforced so we can achieve the desired guest experience. Guests who arrive after their designated check-in time will be accommodated

  14. Did you print your luggage tags AFTER you purchased FTTF? If so, they should be marked as such. When you turn over your luggage be sure they put the orange tag on it to show the FTTF. Not sure why you want to arrive at 11 but you should be able to go to a different checkin line for FTTF. ENJOY YOUR CRUISE and wish I were going tomorrow instead of FEB.

  15. Only had FTTF last cruise. I did have several questions at various times and always had the next available CS person step over and wait on me.

One cruise I had an ice pack that I dropped off each morning and picked up each night. Will say they took very good care of me and without that ice pack my cruise experience would have been very different.
