  1. I'm very confused, I have travelled to Dubai three times, once on a cruise. In Dubai airport there is a duty free selling the usual alcohol as well as crates of beer, cider etc which you can consume in your hotel & apartment. Obviously alcohol isn't readily available in super markets like the U.K. however it is in bars and restaurants. From what I've read this incident seems to be about Visa's and maybe as she had been drinking she kicked off..

  2. We are flying out to Barbados on TUI then back with Thomas Cook, just a few questions

Do both journeys become available to book seats at 14 weeks. Or do I have to wait a further 2 weeks to book return?

Read about higher grades being able to book earlier, what is this grade?

Is there a difference in cost for seats between TUI & Thomas Cook?

How do people cope booking seats when they have 5 cabins all on separate booking references 🙄

  3. New to p&o I'm looking at Azura for 2/3rd Nov18 should I book now or wait ?

We need several inside cabins, however don't need to be together, should I wait and see saver rate, when would this be

Also on saver rate would all parties be on same sitting if cabins linked? If given early dining can we switch to anytime dining?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. We've stayed in D735 on Emerald Princess, we loved it, however you do get vibration noises when docking so if you're normally up at that time you have no worries :)

On the deck plan its next to large staff area, never heard a thing

I will say if you need to use euro socket bring a extension lead as they only have them behind/underneath the bed

Little vid from my YouTube channel

  5. One 24-hour period can be purchased for $20.

You can still take two 750ml bottles of wine onboard.

Fleetwide wine packages are gone, however the ship may offer their own wine package. Check with your dining staff.

Thanks, hope the wifi is half as good as Carnivals social package which was £5 a day

  6. The onboard price for Surf only is $13 per day for one device.

Thanks Bob, can the onboard one be purchased per 24 hours? Otherwise it's as cheap to buy the one offered.

Just off topic can you still take your own wine on? Also can only see alcohol package but no just wine packages

  7. I've just booked Vision of the Seas in Dubai, I'm only getting offered

Voom Surf & Stream, £9.71 per day I only really want Internet for FB & emails is there a Voom only package I can buy when I get onboard

My other question seems to have been answered about using iPhone/iPad on one package, I'll just log off one and log into the other

  8. Can anyone tell me if cabin 2306 is noisy? I can't tell if it is under the Lobby or the Galley.

I was in 2302 & my friend in 2306 no noise issues at all. My cabin was just under lobby reckon 2306 wasn't quite under galley, you'll be fine. Your cabin is the first one on right with white cage on top

  9. The issue I have is I purchased my drinks package at the same time as I purchased the food I ate and the cabin I slept in & the lemonade I drank by the pool, Carnival even state VAT is on most 'shipboard purchases' they've lost the plot!! and we've all paid the price..

What is the Value Added Tax (VAT)?

The Value Added Tax, also known as VAT, is an indirect tax that applies on cruises sailing within the European Union (EU) only. All intra-European Union voyages will be subject to VAT on most shipboard purchases. We are required by law to charge VAT.

  10. Can I just ask have there been any cruises since Aug 6th which sailed from Barcelona and visited any Greek ports, if so can you tell me what VAT was charged

We pre-purchased ( no shipboard purchase ) but was still charge 10% then 24% whilst in Greek waters. Thanks

  11. great videos, looks it going to be very crowded trying to walk around the ship on deck 5 with the bbq joint on the side...:(

This was a sea day on the only 12 day cruise in peak UK kids holidays, don't think you'll find it fuller again. Didn't ruin our cruise, it was fantastic.

  12. The point is our 12 day cruise was never going to Turkey and has always been going to Greece, Carnival have known this for at least a year and maybe 2.

They have sold these drinks packages and not bothered to amend the T&C's to reflect the VAT via their US portal in US$ and think it's ok to put a letter in cabins amoung all the paper work you get on the first day and expect people to be OK about it!! We Are Not, they even had the cheek to charge me VAT on my free cocktail as I achieved Gold 🍸 Cheers Carnival....

One of our teens was refused a drink as she never had any funds on her account to charge the 15cent vat too, she was very embarrassed.

I think Carnival should refund all VAT charged to people who pre-purchased drinks packages

  13. Is there a mini bar/fridge in the cabin, if so is it large enough to store bottle/s wine, and a few beers ?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Fridge wasn't big enough to to get a large bottle of water in stood up straight, however it fitted in on an angle and other small bottles too, it has a little wire shelf at the top which I presume was originally for mini spirits laying flat..
