  1. I searched the boards and can't find any recent posts regarding the advantages of FTTF in tendered ports.  I know what the website says, which is vague...

Does anyone have actual experience recently in Belize and Grand Cayman using FTTF "priority tender"?  I know in the past, you'd walk up to the customer service desk and be escorted to the front of the line.  Is that still the case?

  2. I went on the Dream last year the week after Thanksgiving - They had the lobby decorated with a tree and garland. They had a few events that I attended. They had a tree lighting ceremony, a Christmas carol sing along (that was poorly done... Hopefully you get a better entertainment crew) and they had a Christmas show with Santa (at the end you could get your picture taken with Santa).

It was nice, but not overdone. Because I love Christmas, I packed battery operated lights for my room to kind of cheer it up a little...

  3. I surfed around... looks like it disbanded some time ago.

I may have to start something like it in it's place... Like many of you have pointed out... we love the memories that our cocnunt monkey heads give us long after the smell of the drink of the day it held passed.

Hmmm... how about "The Coconut Monkey Head Lover's Club"? For those of us that forget about complaining on our cruises and just have a great time!

  4. I've been to Cozumel several times on cruises. I always go to Chankanaab Park. I've pasted the link to their website below. They have an admission fee to get in. When there, you can snorkel, swim in a pool or on the beach, they have a nature path that has replicas of ruins, they have a couple bars, restaurant. The beach is huge and I have always find a thatched hut to relax under. Take a look. It may meet your needs...

  5. I take a nightlight for the bathroom. The bright fluorescent lighting in the bathrooms make midnight potty trips a BLINDING experience. This may also help with the kids if you have an inside room as those can get quite dark.

Buy lanyards for the kids with the sleeves that can hold their key cards. It makes them harder to lose :)

Download the Carnival Hub app or pay attention to your Fun Times schedule. It'll help you see what all is happening on the ship. try some new things! More fun to be had on these ships for sure!

    Have a great time!!! :ship:

  6. 11:00 am they start calling Diamond, Platinum and FTTF to board. Terminal doors open at 9:30 am to priority boarding people. (Diamond, Platinum and FTTF). We just did a cruise on Glory last month and that was the times we noticed. We had FTTF and were in line at priority boarding on the side of the terminal and they opened doors at 9:30 am. We were checked in and DONE waiting to board by 10:00 am and thats because of the fiasco of doing the gift cards onto your sail & sign card. First they tried telling us we had to have the physical gift card and they do not accept emailed E-Gift cards. I said B*** S*** get a supervisor over here now because I know damn well 80% or better the gift cards that people bring are the printed E-Gift cards. Super comes over and asks whats going on, I explain and she turns and looks at the lady behind the counter and "MOVE" the super put ALL of our E-Gift cards onto our S&S cards. ignored the 3 card limit because 1 couple in our group had 5 of them. We sat in the FTTF lounge for maybe an hour and they called priority boarding (Diamond, Platinum and FTTF) We were on the ship at 11:15am. Went straight to our room and dropped off our carry ons camera bag, 12 packs of pop into fridge, emptied my pockets of wallet, change, keys, passports and other crap into the safe and out on deck with drink of the day in hands by 11:45 am.

THANKS! This was the info I needed. You did the right thing on getting the supervisor over there. I can't stand it when the frontline people tell you something that you know is wrong.

  7. I've used a PVP and a TA in the past. I booked my next cruise directly on the Carnival website. I got a $50 OBC. Like other on here say - I feel like I get more control by booking directly with the cruiseline. I travel a lot, though. If you are new to cruising, I would suggest a PVP or a TA. They will help you with deciding on your cabin style, etc...

  8. Hello fellow cruisers! I have booked room 2473 on the Carnival Glory. Normally, I cruise in a balcony room but, after much thought, realized that I don't spend enough time on the balcony to justify the additional cost. I have heard the comments about rattles which don't concern me. I travel for work a lot and have earplugs, just in case the hotels are noisy... And, I'm actually looking forward to the thrusters vibration/noise in port to wake me up (haha).

My main question is the temperature of the room. I like a colder room when I sleep. That being said, I don't mind the temps of regular sized rooms on the Carnival ships. On this cruise, I will be packing a fan to help with air flow in the bigger room. For those that have stayed in the larger outside rooms, di you think that the room was warmer because of the size of the room? Like, uncomfortably warm? Will a fan be enough to keep the air circulating?

Also - Can anyone confirm that the only outlet in the room is in the desk? I am guessing so, in which case, I'll pack an extension cord for the fan so it's closer to the bed. Ideally, there'd be an outlet on one of the nightstands.

    Thanks for your help!

  9. What a perfect thread for me! I booked on the 11/24 sailing on the Glory. I booked 2465 and my sister booked 2470. I can't wait to see the rooms. I was concerned that being backed up to a crew-member stairway might be a noise issue, but it sounds like it's more of an engine issue. It'll be nice to have the 2 windows and I think that the vibration while docking will be a forced alarm clock for me.
