I just get my Chauffer to drop me off at the Suite entrance and let my staff deal with trifling things like luggage 😎

This cruise already has a Monster thread here

As proud as I am to be British two weeks of hearing Rule Britannia after every anouncement on Britannia was certainly hard work!
Well that's changed then. We have done 3 P&O cruises and there was certainly no music after announcements. Only the odd Sailaway and you could avoid that by going inside

We have today been told by our T/A in UK that because our Indy cancelled cruise was a " group booking " by them, RCI will not be giving the 25% compensation via them to us.We understood that the compensation was to be given to all affected cruisers on the cruise element of their booking, Our refunded deposit arrived without problem.
Anyone else told no compensation ?
Same here. I spoke to my TA who blamed Royal Caribbean. He said the FCC did not apply for the Transatlantic cruise because it was already at a subsidised rate.
I suspect because the TA has grouped us all together, Royal Caribbean had no idea who had booked - we certainly hadn't received an RC booking reference.
Basically we are being shrugged off by both Cruise 1st and RCI.
Another nail in the coffin of Royal Caribbean in the UK in my opinion. We have worked hard to get to Diamond Status but I can't foresee many more trips after the ones already booked next year are sailed and done with.
Shame. We enjoyed their product before it's hard nosed dollar driven side took over everything else 😞

Are there any Cruise 1st customers out there who booked the Halloween Transatlantic cruise on Indy? This was booked as a group booking so we hadn't had our RC reference number yet. I've asked about the future cruise credit and they gave a "yeah, sure" response but I've still not heard a word from Royal Caribbean or seen confirmation of my FCC. Anyone else in the same boat?

Good luck.
Usually a good captain will avoid any bad weather unlike the captain who sailed into the storm that
DJLDRUMS is describing.
Thanks
They have already cancelled a scheduled call at Halifax Nova Scotia, citing the need for an extra sea day so as to allow for a due more southerly route across the Atlantic, so the potential weather is obviously already in their thoughts

but never again would we travel on a Quantum Class ship.
As someone on Anthem on the TA next April for the first time that's cheered me up no end 😮

Thank you.
The crowds of people show how popular it is.
The cruise director and his entertainment team always put on a nostalgic show.
Can you post any of the pomp and ceremony music?
Sorry I didn't film the Rule Britannia bit.

Knees up songs as well

Things that would make me never sail on P&O - waving Union Jacks and playing Rule Britannia as they leave port <cringe>. We call it Brexit-on-Sea
Look on the positive side. The downstairs bar is line free 👍

We were booked on the Transatlantic from Southampton.
Awaiting a call from our TA to confirm they have re booked us on Alure from Barcelona.
Bit gutted though because we love Indy and have sailed on her many times

We stayed on the ship at Salalah, Oman and after hearing the reports of scamming taxi drivers and the town being a dusty hole from our fellow passengers on their return, im glad we did.
Muscat, Oman, on the other hand was superb.

My wife Joanne is 50 whilst on Explorer this October and we primed the celebration by booking the Deluxe drinks package for the 11 days.
It's going to be messy 😁

We are already booked on that cruise Jules. We thoroughly enjoyed 2017 and was keen to repeat the experience.
Reccommended

I don't recall too many lectures. It was mainly progressive trivia, pub quizes and dance lessons. The cruise director was excellent though. Kept people entertained.
I'll picture some compasses and post them for you

It takes me 15 minutes to walk up the gangplank 😁

Always found CPS excellent convenience wise but a bit pricey.
Worth it though

Codeine isn't banned. Did you not read the information in the PDF? While certain drugs are absolutely banned, most of the drugs listed are allowed if the necessary steps are followed. The lists are mostly concerned with narcotics and psychotropic drugs, but certain stimulants and steroids are also listed.
Seriously, what is the likelihood that you would get off the ship in Dubai for a day trip and end up having to get a blood test? Yeah, you might get run over by a taxi and end up in the hospital, but the likelihood is pretty remote. And FYI: a "blood test for any reason" would not show drugs in your blood stream unless it was specifically testing for drugs. A CBC isn't going to show a drug profile. Scaremongering isn't helpful
The last thing I intend to do is scaremonger - apologies if that's how it comes across. I have seen a couple of updated lists on other posts and codeine in on the banned list but providing you have a doctor's letter and copies of your prescription you will be fine.
I have read several reports of people falling foul of the UAE approach to prescription drugs one of which included someone who fell ill and was arrested following blood tests in hospital.
You are correct of course. Follow the steps required and you will be fine

Glad you have raised that because I rattle when I jump with all my prescribed medicine.
Aware of Codeine ban but will need to check all my tablet. Beware going ashore but still taking your tablets because if you end up having a blood test for any reason and barred drugs are in you system you are in trouble with the law

Was in Chops on Indy 3 weeks ago.
1st time we had tried it.
Both well impressed. Look forward to the next time
