We have used Gold Coast Parking for the past several years and have been highly satisfied.
Gold Coast is slightly more than Park n Go for the dates we are looking at.
-
You can also check your hotel. At times they offer cheaper parking but naturally you have to look at the whole package to figure if you will actually save money.
The cheapest off-sites nowadays seem to be: ex for a 7 night cruise

Park by the Ports – $63.92 + taxes = $80.87
-
Self Park FLL – Select BOOK NOW on the website. $55.93 + taxes = $70.47
Park by the ports has a nice location at the Dania casino (not valet parking)
Thanks. We just live across the state and not staying at a hotel. Is Self Park FLL, airport parking?

Well, I went to book today and the price is now $12/day! The rate goes up the closer you are to your reservation date. I've always booked way in advance in the past, so this is a lesson learned.

You can go to studio B as soon as you board and get any time you want for all shows except the comedy. There you'll have to get in standby line an hr before showtime to be sure you get in
Thank you. That is very helpful information.
-
You can get in the wait line and about 10 minutes before the shows they open it up.
Or you could just get in the main line and complain and complain and complain to the girl manning to door that you didn't know you needed reservations while your little hellions were running around and the girl just said fine, go in.
There were plenty of seats for that show so was no big deal, but man that lady was annoying.
We sat far away from them.
Thank you!

We are going on the Harmony in few weeks. We booked the cruise just last month and most of the shows were only available for the late showing to reserve. We did reserve all of the shows, but would prefer if would could see an earlier show. How do they handle "walk ins" if we want to try to go to an earlier show?

We have used Park "N Go for our last 3 cruises out of Ft. Lauderdale. They have excellent service and were always priced reasonable. Last March we paid $7.99/day and now I see they have increased to $10.50/day! It's still cheaper than parking at the cruise port, but are there any other cheaper off-site options?

They were offering discounts the entire cruise. Last night it wasn't even half full.

What were the discounts? I was planning on buying it as a gift pre-boarding, so I am not sure I could obtain a discount once they are on-board.

Thank you for the information regarding booking the restaurant.
Does anyone know if it's common for pre-cruise discounts to be offered for Chops on the Empress?
-
I'm looking to purchase Chops Grill for my daughter and her husband on an upcoming cruise on Empress of the Seas in May. Are there any per-cruise discounts on the specialty restaurant? Right now I'm seeing $35/pp. If I booked it now for them and a discount shows up later, would I get a credit back? Or do I cancel and re-book?
Thanks in advance!

Has anyone been in Cabin 8405 on Freedom of the Seas? It's a category M interior tucked at very back of the ship along the outside. What are your likes/dislikes?
My husband and I just booked this cabin on the 3/26/17 W. Caribbean sailing.
Thanks in advance.

My husband and I were on the Caribbean Princess in Sept. 2014. While we had no complaints regarding the ship in general, we had brown water in our cabin every day until we ran the water for a bit to move it out of the lines. We asked our cabin steward about it right away and we were told that they clean out the lines with bleach and that this is common and to just run the water for awhile until it's clear. This happened every day. I also noticed a smell from the shower on the first few days, but either it disappeared or I got used to the smell. We have never had this before on prior cruises.
I posted this after the cruise and others on the ship did not experience the "brown water". It did concern me that we had to deal with it the entire cruise.
We did sail on the Caribbean Princess on a Canada/New England cruise in 2011 with no problems though. We were on the Crown Princess in April and our water dripped in the bathroom sink the entire cruise. We just seem to have a "water" issue on Princess! :)

Was your suitcase locked when you gave it to the porter?
If so, was it still locked when it reached your cabin?
We did not lock our suitcases.

I wanted to follow up on my post in that we did received a check for the full amount of the laptop we claimed on the Princess Travel Insurance. It took some time for the claim to process but we are happy that they came through.
We did not submit to our homeowner's insurance but provided our coverage information to Princess showing that we would not have met our deductible if we filed with our homeowner's insurance.
-
Just curious, did your husband put the laptop into the bag at a place where one or more dock workers could have seen him?
No, he put it in the luggage before we got to the port.
-
I hope your husband listens to you next time!
Oh yes, he says he will never do that again!

Hi
When my luggage was stolon, Princess accepted liability and paid in full value
of all items, we were insured but did not make a claim.
yours Shogun
I believe it's only electronics that Princess claims they are not responsible for...laptops, cameras, phones, etc. Did you have any of those items on your claim?
-
Yes. A few years ago we had our carry-on bags stolen from our rental car on our way to the ship. We had Princess Platinum insurance as well. We filed a police report before we got on the ship, and upon our return we filed a claim with Princess travel insurance. We also had to start a claim with our homeowners as there was some question about coverage due to a theft from a vehicle in route to the ship, but this wasn't necessary in the end. The travel insurance through Princess covered our losses, including a camera, without question.
The insurance carrier was Berkely and they were very easy to deal with. Anything we purchased and had a receipt for was covered fully. Any items that we didn't have receipts for was covered at a reduced percentage.
It must not be Berkely anymore. It now says Aon Affinity.
On the claim form FAQ, it states the plan is secondary to any other valid or collectable insurance or indemnity and it is necessary to submit to them the final response from the primary/secondary carrier or the party responsible for the loss to allow them to determine the covered amount reimbursable under the plan.

IF your deductible is higher than the cost of the laptop with your homeowners insurance DO NOT file a claim with your homeowners insurance. You don't want your premiums to increase due to a claim that they are not going to pay on. All you need to do IF your deductible is higher than the cost of the laptop is provide a copy to Princess Vacation Protection insurance of your declarations page from your homeowners policy showing the higher deductible and then the Princess insurance will pay. When you call to initiate the claim with Princess Vacation Protection insurance be sure to tell them your deductible is higher than the cost of the laptop. If the laptop is higher in cost than your deductible then you would have to file with your homeowners first. Good luck.
Thank you. We will do that. The deductible is definitely higher than the cost of the laptop.

We hesitate to file the claim with our homeowner's insurance fearing they will drop us when we file a claim. This has been known to happen with our company and we do not want to be dropped over a claim they most likely aren't going to pay due to our deductible. In this case, I don't know if the insurance through Princess will help us.

My husband and I were on the Crown Princess for the Pacific Coastal cruise 4/30 – 5/6.
I preface the following by saying that this is a warning to others to think twice about putting anything valuable you would not want to lose in your luggage at embarkation. If you don’t want to lose an item, whatever it may be, don’t put it in your luggage.
Before embarkation at San Pedro, my husband decided to place his laptop in his luggage instead of lugging it around in his backpack for a few hours. I asked him not to, but he simply didn’t want to carry it (it is heavy) and figured it would be fine in our luggage. Well, when our luggage was delivered to our cabin, the laptop was not in his luggage and was apparently stolen somewhere along the way to our cabin. The power cord was still in our luggage though. Thankfully, we did not store any personal data on this laptop and we quickly changed all passwords in the event an email or anything was not logged out on the laptop. We reported the missing laptop the same day at the customer service desk and was questioned as to when we last saw the laptop. They simply wanted to verify that we did not lose it anywhere else. My husband filled out a report and they said they would start the process. They gave us a number to call when we return home.
We contacted Princess when we returned home and was informed that Princess is not liable for any electronics lost or stolen as stated in the Passage Contract and they deny any responsibility. They stated that the actual loading on and off the ship is handled by stevedore personnel who are not Princess employees, and therefore, not under the control or supervision of Princess.
We did purchase the Princess Vacation Protection (Platinum) and Princess stated that we will have to file through them. However, they require us to file a claim through our homeowner’s insurance first as the Princess Vacation Protection is secondary on baggage claims.
We don’t plan on filing this through our homeowner’s (I believe our deductible is higher than the cost of the laptop), so most likely we will be at a loss in the end.
Has anyone else filed a claim through the Princess Vacation Protection for a stolen item with any success in reimbursement?

My DH and I would like to run the Golden Gate Bridge when in port. We are looking for the cheapest transportation to get to the bridge from Pier 27. We don't want to run from the pier - which would be cheapest:). We are just looking to get there and do the run over the bridge and back, and then transportation back to the pier.
The ship gets in port at 7:00 AM and we plan to head out as soon as possible.

Thank you for the info! I believe we did use the Renaissance parking before but I could not remember where I found it. I already booked on Park n Go. I will have to decide if it's worth cancelling and waiting for a refund. Parking at the Renassance would be about $23 cheaper for the week. How was the shuttle? I seem to remember it took longer to wait for a shuttle on both ends compared to Park n Go.
