  1. Previously booked with our wonderful TA. She got the new promo and kept our cabin. She dis mention she had to call Princess to give us the new promo so maybe that's why we were able to keep the same cabin.

Thanks. Princess would give us the new promotion, but I was told we would have to change our cabin. I don't understand, so I may try again.

  2. Already had a 7 day booking with a non-refundable promo on a coastal cruise April 2016. This morning, TA changed old promo to Sun-drenched promo and now we have an extra $150 OBC. I'm happy!

We also had already booked a non-refundable promo on a coastal cruise in April 2016. Were you able to keep the cabin you had originally booked? When I called Princess, I could get the new promotion (only $25 OBC each for us because of the inside cabin), but I would not be able to keep the same cabin. I declined for now.

  3. Congrats! Be sure to keep checking for price drops.:)

I'm really looking forward to the coastal cruise. It will be very different from what we have done before.

    Enjoy!

This will be different for us as well! I checked the fare this morning and it went up $50 (we booked an interior). Not a huge increase, but it did increase. Oceanview went up $150. Yes, will keep watching for price drops!

  4. We are on the 3/26 coastal cruise out of LA, had it booked since January.

There are three of us in a mini suite, I called last week and saved $625.00 total so I think the fares will go back up after today.

Thank you. That is good to know. Is this the first fare decrease since you have booked last January?

  5. My husband and I are looking at the April 30, 2016 Pacific Coastal Cruise from LA to Vancouver. The sale ends tonight. From what I understand, it is a reduced deposit of $100 each, but the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. The fares seem great for a 6 day cruise, but I'm wondering if it's just a deal for the free bottle of California wine or if these fares will go up tomorrow? I don't care as much about getting the free bottle of wine as I am about the fare.

Any insight on these types of sales?

  6. We were on the Grand for 30 days and had brown water for 2 weeks out of the 4. Complained to front desk the first day, after we just walked 1 hour and were definitely in need of bathing before dinner and I told her this and she said, honey, don't worry, you can still go to the dining room! Our room steward told us this happens and you have to run the water a long time for it to clear.

That's horrible! We didn't have to run the water too long for it to clear, but it still made me wonder how clean the water is!

  7. Which of these has a better obstructed view on Caribbean Princess, E710 or E718?

My husband and I were in E718 3 years ago and we liked the cabin. Club Fusion is below the cabin and we did hear some noise from that at times, but it wasn't anything that would keep us up.

Here are some pics showing the view. I don't know anything about E710.

  8. My husband and I were on the Caribbean Princess last week to the W. Caribbean. We had a fantastic week!

This was our 2nd time on the Caribbean Princess and having read other posts on likes/dislikes I have not seen this one and wondered if anyone else experienced this. We had brown water in our cabin every day until we ran the water for a bit to move it out of the lines. We asked our cabin steward about it right away and we were told that they clean out the lines with bleach and that this is common and to just run the water for awhile until it's clear. Well, this happened every day! I also noticed a smell from the shower on the first few days, but either it disappeared or I got used to the smell. We have never had this before on prior cruises.

Other than that, we felt the ship was in great shape and no complaints otherwise.

Anyone else experience brown water? Our cabin was an interior cabin on Deck 10.

  9. We are on this cruise and paid $349 for an inside room. I do not see a balcony room for $549 when I log in. I do not see any OBC's available either. Balcony shows $599 and Ocean view at $549. They have been at these prices for awhile as I have been checking everyday since we booked the cruise last month. Great price still and we do live in Florida. I am really hoping for an upgrade!

  10. Your cruise card will have your assigned dining room name and table number on it.

If you are unable to check that table otherwise, you should meet with the Matre d' (or designated person) at the time and place listed in the Patter.

On our last Princess cruise the information was in small print on the back page of the Patter where it said "Dining Guide". The small print said "Dining Room Inquiry Desk 1:00pm-3:00pm, xxxx Dining Room, Deck x." The information might be in a different place when you cruise.

If you can do so, go before the starting time as the line (and thus the wait) can be long.

    By the way, sometimes

o they will assign passengers who want a table for two to a table for four with nobody else assigned to the table.

o they may put a divider on a table for four and assign two couples there

o regular tables for two may be only about 12 inches from the next table.

Thank you for the info. I was not aware of this and probably never paid attention since we chose anytime dining on our last 2 Princess cruises.

We were on the Diamond Princess in 2008 and had no problems getting a table for just the 2 of us, so when we sailed the Caribbean Princess 3 years ago, we thought it would be the same. It was not. The wait was long and it was difficult to ever sit on our own. I don't care if we are at a table for 4 and are the only ones and I don't mind the tables being close together. We did experience the close tables when we had the table for 2 on the one and only night on the CB.

  11. On our first cruise we went traditional and asked for a table for 2 .....got a table for 8! However by the 3rd night there was only us and another couple...we must have frightened the others off. The last cruise we went anytime and were able to get a table for 2 every night which was brilliant. You can always see what they offer you the first night and if they cant change it to a table for 2 I'm sure you will be able to change to anytime dining. Someone out there will correct me if I've given you the wrong info. Enjoy your cruise :)

Were you on the Caribbean Princess when you had a table for 2 every night in Anytime dining? This was not our experience in the past. It was so difficult to get one.

  12. From what I saw of the Palm Dining Room (TR Dining Room on CB), the tables are split in an appoximate ratio of:

    40% 8-person tables

    20% 6-person tables

    30% 4-person tables

    10% 2-person tables.

My ratio may be a little off, but that is about right.

That gives me an idea of what is available, but there is no way to know how have requested a table for 2 on this cruise. I wonder if it's on a first requested basis?

  13. Yes you can switch onboard, but I would suggest you see the MD at the time/place listed in the Patter on embarkation day. Its usually in one of the DR's around 2pm. He oversees the seating plan for the DR's and any other seating issue someone may have.

What am I looking for on the Patter for the time/place? I do no follow as we have not dined Traditional in the past.

Do you mean that we can find out then if we have a table for 2?

  14. My husband and I are sailing on the Caribbean Princess on 9/6.

This is our 2nd cruise on the Caribbean Princess. The first time was 3 years ago to Canada/New England.

On the Canada/New England cruise we chose Anytime dining and we tried most nights to get a table for 2, but it was only possible on one night. We just prefer to dine alone.

On our upcoming cruise we requested Traditional Dining for 2. We were told there are some available, but we weren't guaranteed a table for 2.

Does anyone know how much availability there is for this?

Is it possible to switch to Anytime dining once you are on the ship?

  15. It's been 3 years since we were on the Caribbean Princess and we are going on the ship in Sept. Do you still need quarters for the self service laundry? Or can it now be charged to your account?
