On our last cruise with Saga from Southampton the driver went via the A35 and the return journey was via the A303. Not much difference in the route mileage wise so it is a case of where the traffic is lightest. Thanks for the tip. I think we stopped closer to Southampton simply because we wanted to allow plenty of time for the pre boarding Covid checks. As it turned out, we were actually on board within an hour of arriving at the port. We cancelled the Black Sea cruise with a heavy heart but felt that the new itinerary didn’t justify the premium price we had paid. A few days after cancelling we saw the new pricing structure and felt that it was too good an opportunity to miss. The saving paid for our forthcoming cruise to Iceland in August and our cruise to France / Spain in September. As you quite rightly said a few weeks ago - there are no bad cabins on the Spirit of Adventure and as there seemed to be about 180 empty cabins we thought it highly unlikely that we would be disappointed. We weren’t !
