    FYI for those who use a CPAP

    Chances are 98% all bags will be in your by bedtime. (percentage is my WAG).

     

    Personally, I carry mine in our roll aboard carryon. We roll that to lunch and by then we can go to the room. Yea, they have a place to check it, but it is so easy to just drag it with me. Bag also has ipads, change of clothes and important meds. Actually - on last two cruises, we each had just one carry on - TOTAL. Expect to the same on next cruise. Hopefully you saw my earlier post about dropping the humidifier part of cpap.

    I'm a proud owner of my new CPAP as of 2 days ago so very interested in this post. Mine has a humidifier but am curious about not needing it. Is there a special part i need to cover the opening? Might try it before I leave to see if I tolerate it

    I'm curious if anyone has booked an inside cabin under this promo?

    I've sent a request to see about transferring our existing booking (made under the $1 deposit promo). According to the site, the 3 day sale includes free gratuities for all cabins... so a good deal as well if we can keep the cabin we want.

    I started off booking an inside for our 15 day return from Vancouver to Hawaii in Oct. Free grats..I then ended up changing it to obstructed OV (since 10 days is just water anyway) so got the free grats, 2 coupon books $25 OBC or a package of wine, choc strawberries photo and travel mugs. 100% refundable deposit. If i booked a balcony the AIBP was incl. 3rd and 4th got the non alcoholic package (sodas and more?) Mini suite added the dining. Also had $200 for military. This is all for cruises between may 2018 and April 2019. AT the presentation I went to in Victoria BC, new cruises booked between now and may 2018 was non refundable $100 US deposit and second person 50%off.

    UBP - Must try cocktail/drink list!

    I'll be leaving on the Jade soon for a transatlantic - just wondering if you remember if the "Rebellious Fish" and the "Dark and Stormy" and some of the other classics were above the UBP threshold.

     

    Also, wondering if the drinks you posted (like the rum cake or Espresso Martini) could be "brought under the threshold" by requesting a lower quality Vodka or rum.

     

    Any more pics out there?

    Rebellious Fish was on the UBP. didn't try the D&S. at one bar I asked for a 1/2 size and they obliged but at another, it was sorry no can do. Quite a few drinks came in under $15

    Just off the Pearl and was somewhat dissapointed in the NCL experience this time. Food was blah at best and that ship is tired. So that being said, I decided i wont cruise NCL until i can travel on one of the larger newer ships. Living in BC though, there are not the mega ships on the pacific...till now! Heres hoping they have indoor pools and extra viewing spaces. I am also secretly hoping for go carts as in the Joy. With the Pearl doing many charters, they removed the slide, and on our last cruise, covered one of the pools 2 days before the end to set up the stage

    I don't suppose there's any chance it could do the inside passage?

    According to a write up i just saw, inside passage is a yes! Cant find it now but did see this....

    charter sailings

    Good to know if the next cruise is a charter as well. I just completed a cruise on NCL where the next cruise was a rock band charter. A large portion of the pool deck had equipment stored and cordoned off the entire cruise with many deck chairs also stored away. Then the last 2 days, they covered one of the pools to set up the stage. The remaining pool was ice cold, the same pool they use for the polar bear swim in Alaska.

    Ship - Norwegian Pearl

     

    Deck - 8

    Stateroom # - 8042

    Stateroom Category – balcony forward starboard side right at the elevators

     

    Quiet Stateroom? – yes

     

    Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

     

    Balcony View - not obstructed but enclosed hull. Not as open but very private and not as windy

    Was wind a problem? - no unless you had both room and balcony doors open at same time

     

    If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

     

    Any specific problems with this cabin? - limited drawers (3 small next to closet.) There are 3 shelves under safe. One outlet. No night stands with drawers, just a tiny table that the phone took up most of the space. When pull out sofa converts to a bed, very cramped and only way to balcony is to climb over foot of it. There is a coffee maker.

     

    Any other comments: one pool was covered 2 days before disembarking in preparation for a charter to set up the stage. Very inconvenient as it was a hot sea day and other pool is extremely cold. Half the deck was blocked off to store the scaffolding and equipment with many deck chairs stored away as well so lounging was at a premium. Food on last day very poor. Also same food offered in O sheehans at breakfast as in buffet. O sheenhans has a very limited menu after 10pm with no appies such as the dip or mozza sticks.
