  1. HI there! Thanks for your review. We sail next week and I was wondering which terminal the Breeze went out of? Was it terminal 1 or terminal 2? We've sailed out of Galveston 6 times and last summer was the first time we sailed out of terminal 2 and it was terrible.

Thanks for the tip on which waiter to request. We are doing anytime dining for the first time this sailing. ;)

  2. Hello everyone! I have a question about FTTF and the Galveston port. I've sailed on Carnival from Galveston 6 times, but never with FTTF. The first 5 sailings, we departed from Terminal 1, and last summer we departed from Terminal 2.

I remember seeing FTTF signage once past security, but my question is about leaving luggage with the porters. Is there a specific FTTF luggage area or do we just leave it with porters as usual, since it lists F2F on the tag, and hope it gets sorted correctly?

    Thanks in advance :)

  3. Good morning! I am a frequent Uber user, and I travel often for business and pleasure. On my trip to Vegas 2 weeks ago, my friend and I used Uber for airport pickup and return. The vehicle that picked us up, a Hyundai, had a large trunk that easily accommodated our 2 suitcases and 2 backpacks. The vehicle that arrived for the ride from the hotel back the airport was a Honda. Our 2 suitcases barely fit in the back, as the driver also had a small tool box and smaller cooler in his trunk. We had to sit with our backpacks in the back seat.

I've had every size of car pick me up, from very small compact cars, to midsize SUV. I would that any Uber X vehicle I've been in would be able to accommodate 4 people, but NOT 4 people, each with their respective carry-on bags, and 2 additional suitcases. I agree with the Uber XL recommendation. I've always found Uber pricing to be less than cabs (both charge airport pickup fees) Uber only charges a "waiting" fee if they have to wait on you, thus, I only request a car once I have picked up my baggage and headed to the exit. I hope this helps.

  4. dI can't believe you got flamed. That's terrible and that type of response to people's honest opinion is something that keeps me from posting more on here.

That being said, I LOVE Mr. Sancho's and will be going there for the SIXTH time in June;) I tried Nachi back in 2011 but I found it a bit boring. It was nice, don't get me wrong. My husband a teens were not fans of the food. It was very quiet and serene. The beach wasn't as clean as I expected it would be. The bathroom had little bugs everywhere. I chalked it up to being in a tropical climate, but once I tried Mr. Sancho's the following year, there was NO going back! I love the TRUE all inclusive food and drinks at Sancho's. The beach is fantastic, the waiters are wonderful!! The food is great, and they have some self serve options, as well as menu items. The fish tacos, coconut shrimp, and ceviche are some of my faves. The drinks are STRONG. I'm not a lightweight when it comes to alcohol and definitely feel like I gets my money's worth. I always reserve online in advance. Whatever you choose, enjoy!!

We've been to Nachi twice. The first time, in April 2014, was amazing. Beautiful beach, good food, great pool. Went back in October 2015, there was so much rotting seaweed on the beach, that not only could we not get in the water, we were gagging from the smell. I did a review and got flamed so bad here on CC that I'm reluctant to share this, but just be aware. Guess it depends on the time of year you go.
  5. I've emailed the maitre d' every year, for the past 5 or 6 years, before our annual cruise, and requests have always been granted. 3 different ships and success every time. I know they are not required to respond to email, but I've always received a cordial reply back. Enjoy your cruise! ;)

  6. haha...I think I explain things very clearly. It seems that listening comprehension is fleeting in this day and age. When I called both times I gave them my booking numbers and explained I wanted to add a person to each room, etc. Nothing difficult, I thought.

I will be calling in the morning and hope third time is a charm;) There used to be a PVP that called and emailed me frequently, but I never utilized his services because I always book myself online. Thank you all for taking the tie to reply with your suggestions! It is appreciated.

  7. I need some assistance, please. I have called the Carnival CS line twice today and have not spoken to what I believe to be reliable reps that will not screw up my booking.

I currently have 2 cabins booked for a July sailing on the Triumph. We have decided to allow our kids (19 & 16) to bring a friend, so I need to adjust my cabins.

    Current booking is as follows:

1 balcony cabin for daughter and me (Lido)

1 inside cabin for son and husband (Lido)

    I will need:

1 balcony cabin for daughter, friend and me

1 balcony cabin for husband, son and friend

I called customer service and first rep could not understand what I wanted to do and kept saying we could book another 2 person cabin. Second call, the rep had to keep placing me on hold to answer basic questions.

Has anyone ever had to add someone to their booking and change from a 2 person to 3 person cabin? Will I just pay the rate difference? The original bookings (just booked and paid on May 19th) each have a $50 OBC – but my new special rate available has a $109 casino credit.

I need to get this done quickly, as we sail in July. Any recommendations on how to get this accomplished with a competent rep that won’t screw it up? I even have the cabin numbers I want, lol. Why is this hard for them? When I call I am pressing 4 when prompted for “already booked cruise.” Should I press 5 for “ready to book cruise?” Are the reps the same for both of these options? Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide me!

  8. I booked us on June 9th for tomorrow's sailing! I was trying to book online, like I have always done, but the website was being weird. I noticed the price was almost the same for 4 ppl in a balcony and 2 balcony/2 inside. The prices kept fluctuating wildly and wouldn't show me cabins available. I called in and a sweet pvp (I think it was a pvp, as there was a dog barking in the background, was definitely not a call center) found me a balcony on the spa deck with an inside across. Awesome! We got a great rate, as well.

I've never waited that far out to book and have been traveling for work the past3 weeks and just got in last evening. Went on a shopping spree today and in the process of laundry and packing now. We booked cavetubing dot bz for Belize and Our usual Mr. Sancho's for Cozumel. I didn't book anything for Roatan, I guess wel are doing the free beach. ;) What did you book for excursions?

Exciting, huh??? Can't wait to board in the morning! We are planning to leave the house @ 9:30 so should be in Galveston by 11!

  9. Thanks for the nice review. It's always good to get multiple perspectives. I have a couple questions if you don't mind. You mentioned you were on the ship by 11:00AM (outstanding by the way), what time did you arrive at the port? You also mentioned you parked at a lot across from the terminal, do you mind telling us what company you parked with? We're debating our parking options and keep hearing how great Galveston Park n Cruise is so close you can walk to the ships.

Glad to hear FTTF was worth it for you. We have already purchased our FTTF and am excited we may be on the ship that early.

    Thanks!

regarding parking : We have used Galveston Park n Cruise exclusively and love it. We have it booked for the 4th time when we sail out in 18 days! It is directly across the street from the terminal. Yes, you will have to cross the road. There is a crosswalk at the red light and people DO let you cross. I've never had an issue. It is a trek with luggage, as the parking lot is quite expansive, but has never been strenuous for us. We are late 30's with two teenagers. They offer covered parking and there is no waiting for a shuttle bus. :D

  10. We are a family of 4 and were thinking about just cabbing it to Doctor's Cave Beach. Is there set cab rates at the port to certain locations?

I am now thinking that this Hop On / Hop Off may be better? But would the cost be much more versus a cab for 4? This is the one port I do not have an excursion booked at, as of yet.

Poseidon Patty - We are from just north of Houston & will be on the Magic next week, as well :D I am hoping the weather turns out ok, the news said there are 2 storms forming. Boo!!

  11. Well, they don't actually serve brewed tea but tea made from some sort on mix. I only remember unsweetened but then that's what I drink. It's not going to resemble freshly brewed tea in any way, shape, form, or fashion. Sometimes I'm not even sure it resembles tea at all.

Very well said, I agree 100%. The only way I can drink the "tea" is with a glass full of ice, 1/4 glass of tea & 3/4 glass of water. It tastes like the awful instant tea that my Aunt used to drink, yuck! :p
