Should have warned you of the demise of Wairu River Odd. Sorry 😢

We knew. But putting up the Honig as replacement is only positive. It is a good wine and equal in value, if not better. The expression is obviously different.

Rather funny to present oneself as an expert on Italian cuisine while misspelling cannoli.😉

My two grandmothers, one from Piemonte and the other from Basilicata, served spaghetti and meatballs often.  I suppose they might have learned it at Ellis Island.

Thanks. I stand corrected on the cannoli. Meatballs are up to the jury🤣☺️

  3. On the Journey. Midway in cruise. Someone is running this ship, but they are nowhere to be seen. Haven't seen any senior officers since captains welcome first night. Drinks and wines are acceptable with Ultimate package. Haven't tried the included items. No Schweppes for the first part, but a new stash came on board yesterday. They did have diet Fever Tree, but main serve is Club Tonic.

Wairrau River Sauvignon Blanc is not in stock so they are serving Honig as replacement. Totally different, but acceptable.

Some ups and downs with kitchens. Had a great night at Aqualina. A few new items on the menu.

Discovery is touch and go, but I guess we are asking for it when ordering fish all the time. Last nights Grouper was dry and sent back, - then perfect on second try.

Authentic Italian in Windows had its silly mistakes. Spaghetti with meatballs is not an Italian dish, but American. Cacio e Pepe is not made with Parmeggiano but Pecorino.

The head chef is half italian🤯.

We are certainly happy and satisfied as some tiny hickups is of no concern to us.

    Taormina tomorrow. Canolli. Yumm😁

Confusing - it definitely says ”Transfer Pick Up Location  Tronchetto,  People Mover Final Stop”  but then says the address is Piazzale Roma. May be worth forwarding these instructions to Azamara Circle & explaining that it is confusing, could they please help you to determine which end of the people mover is the pickup point. The other thing you could do is message TrumpyTours via the contact page on their website  https://www.trumpytours.it/contact/

If the drop-off is at the People Mover station on Piazzale Roma it makes more sense. No reason to transport people over to Tronchetto just for them to make their way back.

Hope you are OK.  I think we are in the same boat (pardon the pun) in Dublin.  Just concerned we pick up positive there but its an easy flight home

So far so good. I am without symptoms today (day 5), but Synnøve still has a bad cough. We should be OK for boarding in 51 days. There is a new wave coming…..

  6. Just saying: Using free nights is a gamble. If you can benefit from it and really get a good deal, lucky you. We have just had our 4 free nights being eaten up by the current promotion and everybody is getting the same price.

Azamara should look at another way of honouring loyalty.

  7. Just received mail that they will continue with same testing requirements. We are going thru Covid as we speak and obviously cannot go for the PCR-test( it is too expensive as well), and our solution will be either an Antigen test at a pharmacy in Nice or a boarding test at $59 USD. Back to square one. We can accept that. It will probably be no problem.

Hmmm we’ve not received that offer for the July 30th cruise

We haven’t received any mail regarding FCC either. If it is correct it will cover some of the costs with regards to possible rebooking of flights.

    Thanks for your answers.

Do you remember approximately how much your taxi cost?

The taxi was 25€ each way. No problem. If you need "no problem", just stay on board for a sea day. Many choices. We might even go for s beach day in Giardini and psy fot the sun beds

  10. It is either taxi or Azamara excursion. We tried to plan for public transport options the last time and we ended up waving off a taxi after a long walk thru Giardini. There was supposed to be a bus, but it never came. We are planning on Azamara shore ex next time.

  11. I wouldn't worry too much. The author is probably the same as the one who posted a terrible video on YouTube and slaughtered the cabin defects before the ship had sailed more than a day.

Surely the poster had reason to e disappointed, but the first thing you do is to contact the Hotel Director on board and then you probably will get the help which is possible to get. Everybody on the inaugural sailing got a full refund because of deficiencies on board. The ship was not really ready to sail.

Besides of that, the review is real and marks one persons experience. On this board there have been also many critical voices about Onwards first sailings. It should get better as they keep fixing things that should have been done in the dock.

  12. Today marks the first time ever that Azamara has four ships sailing simultaneously. When Azamara Journey departs Athens at 18:00 today all of the four ship fleet is operational for the first time ever. Truly a new era for Azamara.

  13. When Onwards first itineraries came up with the full winter season 22/23 in Mediterranean Europe I figured there would have to be a change. After a while the season was moved to the Caribbean and that was maybe the safest move, but it was not a bold one.

Living in Ålesund we see how cruise traffic along the Norwegian coast has increased significantly the last winter and the Northern Lights cruises are more popular than ever.

Viking, Cunard, Hurtigruten Expeditions, AIDA, HAL, TUI (Mein Schiff) are all wedging in on this market. Just a suggestion for Azamara. Staying in the Caribbean for the winter is not very profitable and the Azmara demographic is maybe looking for something else....

  14. What are the possibilities for disembarking passengers in Ravenna?

We are not eligible for Complimentary Azamara transport to Venice or Marco Polo, but are planning on getting from the ship to Ravenna railway station. Are there any transport by Azamara for disembarking passengers into the station or do we rely on taxis?

  15. Thanks, again, Ivi, for the «live»-thread from Pursuit. We love these ports and are repeating them on Journey in august. It is nice to be reminded of things,- like the lift in Sorrento. Have a lovely day in Civittavecchia. We probably will stay on board when we get there next time. Another nice thing to do there is to take the train or a taxi to Santa Marinella just 10 km down the shoreline. There are some nice beaches and restaurants there. Maybe Azamara should make this a beach excursion from Civi…😎😎

  16. Try calling your local Royal Caribbean office. They still have direct access to Azamaras booking system. At least they will be able to see your booking and make any amendments in the system that may have gone wrong.
