  1. I always bring a power bar for all the devices for hotel stays.  We went on a long vacation that happened to include a short cruise and I never even thought about the power bar.  They took it and left me a ticket.  I thought for sure that thing was gone, but there it was at the end of the cruise waiting for me!  We were not in any hurry to get off the boat so I was one of the last few off the ship, but there were a lot of items still there.  I think the biggest issue is remembering to go pick it up!

  2. Hello Everyone

I am heading on my second RC cruise this summer (did a short one to test the waters last summer) and I didn't realize for some cruises on RC you made reservations for the shows.  I came across it here and then set an alert.  Sure enough - I did not receive any communication from RC but the booking opened up on the app and I happened to be looking.

Thank you Cruise Critic.  You always learn something here!

  3. Thanks for the Live Sid- I don't think we will ever cruise Virgin, but I like your Live's so much I always follow them!  We had to make an unexpected drive to Miami due to plane cancelations in December so I never did get to see that airport!  Good luck with your travels home.  I hope you are not delayed too much!

  4. Great post and I have to agree.  We are yearly - or every other year cruiser (Live in Canada so its a bigger commitment!) I have cruised both lines and really do not have loyalty to either.  I do not cruise enough for "status" to ever become a deciding factor.  For me and my family it is more dates (we often cannot be flexible), and ports.

We find the crowds to be very similar - around the pool bar it is louder and more of a party atmosphere - in other areas not at all.  We have never seen any type of fights  - - however this past New Years on the Celebration we thought there might be a riot!!!  I do not know how Carnival didn't realize that the National Football Semi-Finals would be a highly demanded viewing option on the ship, but somehow they missed it.  So when a crowd of about 100 angry football fans had no game showing in the sports lounge it got ugly!  Carnival was quick to make some phone calls and make it happen!  We were cheering for Michigan - but it was the rowdy Georgia fans (who weren't even playing in the first game but knew it meant theirs wouldn't be showing either!) who made it happen. Guest services is right beside the sports bar on the Celebration, so there were some pretty high-ups that were on the scene!  It was fun (and never felt unsafe) to watch US college football fans get what they wanted!

I am back on RCL this summer, and it is the first time I have cruised this close together.  I am eager to try a new ship for us the Wonder.

Was down at the rink this morning.  I wanna head and been on the ice for about a week so I thought it was time to lace up some skates. He wished he had actually brought his skates from home for this.

My daughter loved this on our cruise (Canadian hockey player so she can skate!), She also wished she had brought her own skated!  I had to tell her skates don't travel well in airports!

  6. We stayed there last summer.  Very friendly staff - gave us lots of information about the area - food options - Ron Jon coupons.  The room itself is very much a 2 or 3 star motel.  You are not getting anything fancy - but was close to beach - had large kitchenette space - big room.  We took an uber everywhere so I cannot comment on shuttle costs.  We stayed there post cruise only.  I would stay there again if I was doing the same sort of beach/cruise trip.

  7. So interesting to hear how many people hate Port Canaveral. I always look there first because I have so many flight options into Orlando and driving it’s way easier for me versus Miami. Also ate at the Kelsey’s last year. Lots of food and we liked it but it’s just a normal pizza/pub type food.

looking forward to another great live!

    Good morning.

Slept until my alarm went off telling me it was time for the diamond lunch. I let M sleep since the alarm didn't even cause her to stir.

I haven't really been able to see the sea conditions all cruise which I guess is a byproduct of such a large ship but we are rocking every time we are sailing.

This morning we are REALLY rocking and the ship is making creaking noises like you wouldn't believe.

I'll try to get outside and take a look to see if the ocean is rough or if the gal is just unstable but it's been like this pretty much all week.

That makes me nervous.  We are on there in three weeks and picked that ship because I figured that because it was so big we would barely feel it.

This fancy machine dispenses soda for the low low price of only 21¢ per ounce... :0

A cup could easily end up running you a few dollars. I'm glad that I don't touch the stuff.

I bought the bottomless bubbles for my hubby (he is a pop drinker not beer drinker so its cheaper!) do you bring your own cups now?  We havent been on Carnival since pandemic and this summer we were on RCL and they gave us a cup to use through the whole cruise.
