  1. WINE QUESTIONS

We got a good deal on the 'Have it All' option which includes 15 daily beverages. Is that per person or per stateroom? I looked at the wine list and it looks like that will be OK for us. But does that mean we will just have to order wines by the glass for dinner instead of just getting a bottle? And what is current corkage policy? I've always brought enough for a trip but only may need to bring a few for use in our cabin. I think that corkage was $18 last time I checked.

  2. We are booking an independent tour for 110GBP to Volunteer Point and more with Edgar of Estancia Tours (who comes highly recommended here) and he insists on GPB cash only. Probably saves himself a trip to the bank, and well, you know, cash is king! Plus the same ship shore excursion is probably triple that price. Thanks for all of the answers, I think that I'll go ahead and get some GPBs at home before we leave..

  3. We are going to the Falklands Islands as part of our upcoming South America cruise and apparently they have no ATMs there. We will be needing some a couple hundred British Pounds while there to pay for a tour and was wondering about exchanging currency onboard. I would never exchange money at a hotel front desk as the rates are normally pathetic but was curious if shipboard rates are similarly pathetic. Heck, I have a problem exchanging at airports too as they are nearly as bad. :)

  4. I have always just brought lots of wine (750ml) on board and paid corkage at dinner. Haven't cruised since the newer policy of paying corkage on boarding but I'm OK with that too. I pay corkage at restaurants all the time and always come out ahead. Pricing and availability of wines on board has always been awful.

Not sure why someone would tote wine from Canada to FLL Florida when there is a TOTAL WINE store near the port that you can get wine cheaper than most any other venue. They have excellent pricing and you can put as much as you want in a case box and easily take it to the ship. Just have your taxi driver stop and wait. If you've already made transport arrangements to the ship, I'd grab a taxi when I got to the ship and head over to Total. It's not far.
