  1. Hopefully soon someone will be able to answer this.  My hubby and I are going to do a helicopter tour in Kauai but have others on the ship with us that wont be going.  I would love to be able to tell them they can jump on a shuttle and go to town.

When you click on Summary, it'll be listed right under Pre-Pay service charges on the left hand side.  You can also scroll down to Air, Hotel, Transfers at the bottom of the summary page and it'll be there as well.  Just note, it will show cities but not the flight numbers or record locators.

Thanks for the description of how to find it.  Im a ways out but now I know to be looking

Not true at all. There are plenty of great hotels in Waikiki for the budget traveler.

The Waikiki Sand Villa, Hotel Ilima, Aqua Aloha Surf, Royal Grove, White Sands Hotel, Queen Kapiolani, Princess Kaiulani, Courtyard Waikiki, Coconut Hotel Waikiki, Shoreline Waikiki and more. These are all usually under $150; peak times (Christmas & Thanksgiving) would be exceptions.

Thank you for this list.  We have a group of 10 rooms going next year and not everyone on the trip can afford $350.00 per night.  After looking at all of these, I think we should be able to find one that everyone will be happy with

  4. I love this thread.  I had almost given up on reading the boards as it was getting to depressing after cancelling cruises.  A few days ago we decided to book a Hawaii cruise for 2023.  Figuring by then this Covid mess would be over with and it would not be cancelled.  If it opens up before that we can always book another.  At least this one seems plausible.

What I miss most is the time away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.  That I can leave all stress at my front door the minute I pull out of the driveway and not think about it again until I walk back in.  I miss the smiles of the people on the ship (staff and cruisers).  I miss that 1st drink by the pool the day we embark and of course all the places we get to see.

Favorite menu items I miss are...Oh who am I kidding, the fact that I dont have to cook makes everything a favorite.

Keep up the positive posts and soon we will all be sailing again

This cannot be a blanket policy. My next cruise will go only in my own state and country, and I have little wish or budget to go on excursions, but rather just walk around ports in a couple mile radius. If I have to pay $100's every day in ransom money just to get off the ship and be herded into dumb touristy outings, that makes the cruise pointless and doubles the cost. I know the ports well, and just want a casual saunter around.

There was a European cruise line that started back up several months ago and they had this same policy.  A couple decided not to go on that excursion and to just tour the town.  They got to find themselves a way home because the cruise line banned them from getting back on.

I dont want to do ship excursions either but if I have to in order to sail, I will.

  6. You sure can give them to some one else.  You will need their Latitudes number so they can be switched.  Once switched they can email CruiseNext@ncl.com with their latitudes number and have it extended.  I did that this week and my certificate extended for 2 years from the time it was due to expire which was November 2021.

  7. If you upgrade on your own and the airfare is not being offered you most likely will lose it.  When we have wanted to upgrade ourselves, we just call and ask them to look at it before we make up our mind.  At that point they will tell you for sure.

As for biding on an upgrade, you wont lose anything if you win.  You keep your original perks, no new ones though

  8. We were on the Escape 3 yrs ago and the first thing our cabin steward asked us was if we wanted the partition opened since we had adjoining cabins with our friends.  He opened them and left them open the entire cruise.  We were then on the Pearl last year and the steward refused.  I think it all depends on your steward.  They made them to open but then say you can not.  So never hearts to ask.  Just do not get upset if they say no

While on Jade TA last week I booked another TA for April 2020 and inadvertently took NCL insurance, being as our trip will not end with cruise as we plan on traveling on to Amsterdam I need insurance to cover entire trip. Can I just call NCL to remove it or will I have to cancel and rebook? Thanks

Yes you can remove the insurance at any time without having to cancel the cruise and rebook it.  We have done it many times.

My daughter died before the ship reached Jueno. I’m sorry her death inconvenienced you and disrupted your trip.  However my life has changed forever. I hate reading all this about my poor baby girl. Please be kind

Rhonda J - I am so sorry for your loss.  I hope you get some answers soon.  I know it wont take your pain away but it might help easy your mind.

Since you are new here, you might try looking under the roll call for your daughters sailing.  Maybe someone there saw or heard something that would help.

Yes it was announced on October 15th and the ship is sailing Jan 20th. I purchased the Luxury insurance on the 25th of September 🙂

Sweet.  Just keep everything until after you get back.    Make sure you have the original itinerary printed and then the email that the cruise line sent saying the itinerary had changed and to what.  We used our final ship bill as proof that we actually took the cruise and we were able to fax all the documents to them once we got back home.
