  1. Looking to maybe upgrade to a PH Spa Suite on an upcoming cruise on the Odyssey, but a couple of questions:

On the side-facing suites (1090&1093) it's stated that the bedroom has its own window, where is the window? From the floorplans the bedroom is either bordered by the living area, bathroom, walk-in closet or the foajé. Is the layout different or is the walk-in relocated?

We're on a port-intensive Mediterranean cruise, meaning potential "fallout problems" for both breakfast and sailaways, is the soot problem now FINALLY resolved?

Ship movement in the Eastern Med in August; a potential problem?

    Thanks!

  2. For clarification. I luv Seabourn for a variety of reasons, the crew being on top of the list. Re: the comments above..the Asst Maître D might be an officer, they don't and shouldn't accept gratuities. ( though I did see one accepting gladly ).

For the record: She was not an officer.

Secondly: We did commen on her positive and up and beyond efforts to the Hotel Manager. I will not be surprised if we on an upcoming cruise find her in a more senior position.

  3. I have no issue being irresponsible in this way. No staff I've ever extended a gratuity to at SB has put their hand up and asked me to stop being irresponsible either.

    Actually I have:

On our 15 day Amazon-FLL cruise one of the assistant Maitre D's went out way and beyond at every venue we encountered her, and resolved a lot of problematic situations for others with ease and elegance. At the end we commended her on her performance and (a one-only and extremely discreetly) wanted to reward her with a tip, which she flat-out refused. As she put it; to her this was enjoying the challenges in a rewarding job, and she would much more appreciate a positive guest comment evaluation to SB rather than any financial contribution.

And in general: SB IS my cruiseline of choice because of and NOT in spite of their non-tipping policy. ;P

  4. I was in Continental Europe this weekend and found a price for a 7-day cruise this fall for €1,999.-

Was well into making the booking, but alas when logging in to my Seabourn account to finalize the booking I was told to restart the booking procedure and quoted a price of €2,799.-?

Tried multiple times, and happened on every occasion...

    Any good explanation?

  5. Hope to book our first Seabourn cruise shortly (on Quest). Curious if anyone can tell me if we book one of the more aft of the A1 cabins on Deck 4, what will be below us on Deck 3? I'm pretty sensitive to noise and never book a cabin without knowing what's above, below, and next to me but for the price difference, we're going to have to go with an OV this cruise.

    Thanks!

If choosing one of the aftmost cabins you MIGHT have some noise from the tender station/bay, otherwise (From what some friends of mine that were in a similar cabin) there was no noise.

  6. We've got an early August booking on the Odyssey, and just outside the 90-day window the price of Our OB guarantee dropped by € 400.-/pp, and Seabourn reduced Our booking equivalently, no hazzle. Final payment isnt due for another five weeks.

Now the price has dropped a further €400/pp.

We've booked directly through SB website, Our 3rd cruise With SB and Silver members.

Does anyone have any experience with getting further reductions in such a situation?

Should I wait out for an even further drop in price before contacting them, particularly if the drop is so big that it'll even be profitable forfeiting my current booking as to make a completely new one?
