  1. On the June 1 Glory cruise, the Captain and the Hotel Director explained why they reversed the aft pool and hot tubs policy at the Diamond Captain's party . It's now back to adults only.

Great when a company tries something and when it doesn't work, it can go back to the way it was. When the change is for the better, wonderful, when it's not, go back to what was working. Adult only hot tubs make perfect sense.

I am so glad to hear this, will be there in september and we chose this ship in part because of the adult only pool area.

  2. You will find out the posters here only care when something doesn't go their way so its no use to even attempt to explain your point. I agree, the 25% off next cruise is ridiculous. We had some similar happenings our last cruise including urine soaked carpet when we checked into our room and ended our last days with water logged carpet from them cleaning the deck and the room next to us flooded. We also had several other things happen including missing ports (which they should always have an alternate in my opinion) and the big screen wasn't working some of the time so no movies etc

    Congrats on getting married.

  3. I just received a notice of a change of itinerary for our sailing this Sunday. There will be no port stop in Freeport because of the hurricane damage so they will be staying overnight in Nassau. I really wish that Carnival could have come up with something better because I love port day. The ship is empty and we seldom get off since we've been to all the ports several times. Now, the second day no one will be getting off since they will have gone to Nassau the first and only port stop. Oh well, we will still have fun, after all, we'll be on a cruise.

  4. I was on the Victory in November and have now booked it again for October. I love that ship. I did get the drink package this time since it includes the cappucinos and waters, flavored teas etc now. Wasn't thrilled with my room steward but overall the food was good, entertainment fun. Love the adult pool and Serenity.

  5. I am really disappointed too. You actually pay more per day for the lesser days on sailings so don't tell me that they make less profit so they can't serve Lobster. They keep cutting and cutting back. It all keeps adding up. With the cost of fuel so cheap now, less than a half of what they were paying 2 years ago, you don't see them adding anything back in or lowering their rates. Eventually, people will get tired of it and try other lines. Since they've taken away so many incentives and its harder to get to another level now, I think its time for me to investigate other companies.

  6. **********************************************************************************************************************************

What deck was that steward on? My wife and I are sailing in 4 weeks on the Liberty. First time on the Liberty for us but my daughter has sailed with her and is so far her favorite ship. They both are currently sailing on the Breeze and spending the day in Curacao. I got to stay home with the dog. :D

Deck 8, aft. It use to be my favorite, in fact, last September it was fabulous. if your daughter goes again she will notice the differences for sure.

  7. Didn't do the slot pull...though I did plenty of slots while there, lost it all.

Went to Deck party thinking the Mexican buffet would be there, but it wasn't. In Sept last year they had the Sushi bar, they also had a chocolate bar that was huge one day and they had chocolate stands one evening everywhere. The Salad bar was right inside where they use to have the BBQ's, which they didn't have either.

Did you do the caves to Devils Bay....scary but so worth it.

  8. I was also on the Liberty last week and while we had a good time, because there were 11 of us, and the ports were gorgeous, the ship was not nearly as good as it was when we sailed in September plus our room steward was horrible. Old cereal boxes left over in room, refrig with broken shelf and exploded pop he never did clean. He didn't leave the breakfast order forms we had to keep asking for them and we never did get the snooze/cruise hanger. Also, he replaced beach towels once only.

I am disappointed in the CL cutbacks. The ship did not have the mexican midnight buffet, the chocolate buffet, and Deck BBQ, the sushi bar or the salad bar on Deck 3 like in the past. They comedians were good, the other shows just so so. I loved the ports.

We did the Baths in Tortola, would not miss that. We used Egbert to get there which is a whole different story. In St Kitts we had a fabulous Taxi driver, she took us to cockelshell beach and we did a little site seeing with her (including Robert Redfords house). St Kitts is beautiful. In St Thomas we used Godfrey Tours and it was awesome, though we didn't have much beach time but the Banana daquiri and rum punches were great and the narrator was very interesting. Last but not least was St Marteen and we just did a little shopping on our own and then walked into town, less then a mile, no need to pay a taxi or water ferry. That is certainly the place to shop.

I think I may have some phone numbers if anyone wants them.

  9. We just got off the Carnival Liberty yesterday and I am still disappointed in it. We were on her in September and it was fabulous, so we went back with 11 people for her relocation cruise last week. Our cabin steward was horrible, they cut back on so much, no midnite buffet, no chocolate buffet, no sushi, no BBQ, no bathroom amentities, food on buffet not good and just so so in MDR and same old shows. We are looking at another cruise in November but I think we will try a different CL. We've been on RCL twice and not real impressed but it was pretty long ago.

  10. Normally I would say deck 7. I would go deck 8, ONLY if you can get either room 8450 or 8457, they are right next to the wrap and they are bigger than the other aft balconies. So much more room.

Wow, thats good to hear. I'll be in 8457 in 12 days!!

  11. We were on the same cruise and I posted about it in a different thread (here's the link)... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2107196

We had a helluva time trying to locate the internet cafe as well. It took a couple of trips back and forth on that deck before we found it tucked away behind an unused lounge room.

What was really disappointing was that after we finally found it, the internet was spotty at best. I couldn't accomplish what I set out to do. Oh well. Maybe the vacation gods were telling me to relax and stay disconnected for the week! :D

After initially finding it, I opted to use my tablet in my room instead of their computers and it was much quicker so next time I'll know. Though it wasnt really speedy, I was able to accomplish on my tablet what I needed to in half the time of theirs so you might want to keep that in mind for the future.

  12. We just got off the same cruise, in fact, the OP must have been beside us at Half Moon cause we were right in front of the ship also. Good music...till the rains came. Water was gorgeous. The Casino was not kind to us, took all of our money on the slots which were at times hard to even find a seat.

However, I have to say, I LOVED the food every night in the MDR. I love the new American Fare menu. No complaints at all. The Chocolate bar one afternoon was over the top delicious. I don't eat Burgers, but the fries at Guy Burgers rock. Loved the fish and chips but hated that they put it on paper and with the malt vinegar it all ripped up while trying to eat it. The ceviche was good albeit a bit tart. I thought the buffet lines were really decent most of the time and the food much better then any Carnival Cruise I have been on. Did not get to eat the breakfast burrito but my friend didn't like it.

Loved the adult pool in the back with the retractable roof. Sat there most of the time which is strange for me because I am normally at the Serenity deck. Saw some good movies on the big screen though I was disappointed no MNF on it like on the other ships.

Room service was a joke. Minimum 1 hr wait every time i called so unfortunately I only had it once.

Loved the Martini bar. Anna the manager is a hoot. Just don't take your drink before she finishes it up or she will smack your hand.

The adult comedy was also good, but the room gets packed so show up early.

Great band outside the Casino too. They had it rockin, and I liked the music played by the DJ on deck too. Everyone was so pleasant and eager to please. Must be some new employees because some of them didn't know where the internet cafe was when I asked and there were no directions or signs for it.

Stayed on the Panorama Deck, balcony room, was awesome location. Will stay there again for sure.

I truly loved this ship and the entire cruise, even with losing my pants in the Casino. I can say this was one of the best cruises I have had on Carnival. Best food, service (except room service) and cleanliness. Passengers were very friendly, and very few kids.

I am looking at doing her final cruise out of Port Canaveral to San Juan in March and looking at room 1066, Panorama deck. The room looks a bit bigger but not sure, does anyone know?

  13. Yes 4 players signed multiple towels. The same 4. And I did say thank you to the girl that brought them, though she stuck it in my hand and ran. 4 of the older players signed everything. You guys can blame the fans for all of your short comings on this trip, we know how rude and unprofessional you were. I heard stories from fans about being accused of things they didn't do, having staff pushing fans, putting hands in front of cameras. It's in my emails too as a large group of us promised to keep in touch and have emailed each other several times. You were rude, unethical and unprofessional when dealing with us fans. From what I heard from others, nothing was ever your fault. Poor customer service for sure. Oh well you lied to get everyone on board, then didn't deliver on promises once we got going. You can't change that and as for the group that wants to sue, more power to them! My father in law is a lawyer and he thinks it's a sound case. We were lied to plain and simple.

I am totally with you. I filed a complaint with the BBB as well as a Ripoff report....however, the Rooneys are also part owners of the League so I don't think anything will be done. They should be ashamed of the way they let this get advertised.....7000.00 for this trip and not worth even half of that. The lies, deception to get people to sign up for the trip and the poor service from the League on the ship is beyond what I would have ever expected from this cruise. I'm in for a class action suit. Annie lied her face off to me.

  14. Just came back from the Steelers cruise and have to say I was somewhat disappointed! I had a chief junior suite and the perks as advertised were no where to be found. The special gift was a joke and access to the private lounge where you were supposed to meet steelers players - well they accessed a totally different lounge (diamond lounge) where we didn't have access. Hines Ward, Mel Blount, Donnie Shell, Antonio Brown among other got off in the Bahamas and didn't get back on and Franco Harris, well he got on in the Bahamas but got back off before the ship left port................so meeting and mingling with Franco was not even a possibility....................the most appalling thing I witnessed with my 11 yr old daughter was an incident which occurred after the Super Bowl Rewind of the Super Bowl IX show where a young boy approached Franco who was on stage for an autograph and as Franco reached for the pen an employee for the company organizing the steelers end of the cruise pushed the kid back and then the mother when she stepped in.............it was appalling and embarrassing and you could see that Franco was taken aback from the incident, maybe that is why he left the ship...................in another incident a California fan asked Antonio Brown for an autograph and the fan was asked to dance for the autograph (which he refused) and then Brown asked the fan to do a "crib walk"!which resulted in the fan threatening to punch Brown out - maybe that's why he left in the Bahamas..............the cruise was definitely not as advertised!!! Enough though cannot be said about Moon Mullins, Chris Hoke, Dermonti Dawson, Andy Russell and Hines Ward (when he was there) if every player was as approachable as these players were then the would be nothing to complain about.

It's pretty bad when the headliners of the cruise Ward, Blount and Harris are not signing and notice of this is provided about a month before we set sail.

In regards to the Royal Carribbean the service was lets just "Immaculate"

So, if there is another cruise, my advice, save your money as in this case it will not turn out to be as advertised!

I was on that cruise also in a Chief Suite and paid 6500.00 for my room. Huge disappointment. About 3/4 of the people on that cruise were complaining. Adding to what you said, Heath Miller refusing to sign until his autograph session, Mel Blount claiming he couldn't sign jerseys/helmets/footballs as part of his contract was a lie, and the autograph sessions being set at the same time, as well as the lie about the fast pass (which they told me applied to every autograph session like in Disney) and so much more. I will be contacting the horrible travel agency and filing a complaint with the BBB as well as a ripoff report. I would also like very much to get in touch with the Rooneys and let them know how their loyal fans were treated. Louis Lipps, Shamarko and some others were awesome, and the old timers had some great stories and actually talked with you. Larry Foote is a hoot, as is Chris Hoke. Mingling with the Steelers just wasn't there like promised, and oh ya, the private room was a joke, they had the Diamond Lounge, they weren't coming into the Conceirge lounge. Many people were talking about a class action lawsuit against them, and I for one would totally be in.
