Makes no difference if it a buffet, regular restaurant. No matter were. There will always be filth. Eating at home does not change that. Food at the store you bring home can have plenty of germs on it. Washing does not always prevent contamination. People touch everything. We all just live with it every day. If you see something that needs to be replaced or corrected. Simply tell whomever is in charge what you saw and it will be taken care of immediately. I have and it was. I was in the service. At times, seeing what I saw and eating what I had to was far worse than any buffet on any cruise line. I am still healthy. Do not like what you see in the buffet. Simple, do not eat there. No one is forcing you.

This is one of the most sensible common sense things I’ve read in the past 16 months.

  2. Speaking of Ridiculousness, good show! However, I do feel bad for folks that are allergic/sensitive to cigarette smoke that have to go through the casino to get to dinner. I honestly hate the smell of it as an ex smoker. Yes, I do vape, but I feel like it’s definitely different, at least the odor and it’s ability to permeate everything it touches. However, I won’t judge folks for smoking nor shy away from them. An addiction doesn’t make them a bad person.

That is the beauty of the casino bar. Lots of nonsmokers also hangout and kibitz. That bond you mention is usually reserved for those in smoking section purgatory (wherever that may be) but the casino bar went beyond that and had a wider cast of inclusion. Friends/spouses/significant others/family members etc of smokers, even plenty of singles or solo travelers, many whom don't even smoke, can come together with smokers, drinkers , gamblers, sports bettors  etc and have a good and lively time with great conversation over drinks and smokes (for those who partake) without being shunned. It's inclusive and you get a bit of that Vegas vibe. Good times!

Man, I hope we cruise together some time. I’d love to buy you a drink and hear your story.

Breaking Carnival rules is not a problem? That's a problem.

Breaking what rule? There isn’t a rule that you cannot sit at that bar. You cannot sit at the slots and smoke and not play. If you’d like to show me a direct quote of the rule then you can go around accusing people of rule breaking. Otherwise you’re spouting incorrect information.

It's not a problem. The casino bar is full of smokers, non-smokers, gamblers, drinkers and any combination of those individuals/couples/groups. It was the one free place on the ship where people could come together and socialize and those who wanted to self-segregate could stay away. It always has the most outgoing and unpretentious people (both smokers and non-smokers alike). Then funnest passengers frequent the casino bar, it's a real shame if this is really true. It was the last refuge where everyone is welcomed.

Heck yeah! Met some great people at that bar! I know Carnival started having issues with people that would go and sit at the slots just to smoke, that’s why carnival started implementing rules, like you gotta play to stay. But it had nothing to do with the bar.

And that's the problem. People weren't supposed to smoke in the casino if they weren't gambling. Removing the bar and replacing with machines solves the problem.

Enforcement of no non-gamblers smoking is also supposed to be better.

The bar literally had a smoking side and a non-smoking side. I would plop my butt down in the smoking section of the bar, cause there were signs every where, order a beer, and chat with folks. The bar doesn’t have slots/card-tables or any sort of gambling thing. Not sure why it’s for “gamblers” only, just because it’s in the casino. I’ve been on a crap ton of cruises and this is the first time I’ve ever heard the bar is for gamblers only. I’m sure carnival was happy to have my money in any fashion I provided, whether it was through the casino or through booze.

Good question. My guess is the early slots get snapped up first.

Most likely right. Makes things complicated for those that are platinum/diamond sailing with folks that are not. Well, not exactly complicated, but tense. Cause I’m sure as heck getting on that ship at 10:30 or close to it. The in-laws will have to deal with whatever time they get.

I had times starting at 10:30 up to 2:00 (in 30 minute increments), this was a few hours after the option was available for July 3rd sailing.

Yes to the question about 16 days

I wonder if folks that had the 14 days out checkin got the 10:30 option as well.

I never said lunch only, only that (IMO) they will offer the included limited lunch menu at dinner ad an inclusion. I don't think it will be the regular full dinner menus at the restaurants. They'd run out of items quickly with people ordering like hogs because "it's free" and wasting food. I just don't see it happening.

Ah, I misunderstood, my apologies. Thanks for clarifying. Thought you meant it was just the same lunch stuff but served at dinner time. My bad!

As I recall (it HAS been nearly a year and a half since we've cruised), last call to leave the ship is around 3 hours after the published arrival time.

On one of our cruises (and it happened to be the one time I splurged for a suite because it was a great deal - so we had the option of being among the first groups off) we had something scheduled for later in the day so we just found a table and played cards until last call to leave.

The big question mark is going to be any new Covid related procedures for disembarking.

I know this is the Carnival forums, but it seems they are adapting some of RCCL Covid protocol methods in certain aspects. So, on the AoS, they had people wait in their cabins and watch the T.V to be notified it was their time to debark. There’s a few vlogs out there detailing the process much better then I can explain. Not saying Carnival is going to do this, but it is possible they may do something similar.

Correct. I believe it will simply be an extension of the included lunch menu to dinner time as well. Pig and Anchor, Cucina Capitano and JiJi's are all included in lunch but not dinner. All require an up-charge and have a different menu. Pig and Anchor is an A la carte menu for dinner actually.

Why would they announce a new restaurant and keep it lunch only? They even released the menu. No idea why they’d tease the dinner menu but keep it lunch.

Ooops. Sorry about that, I obvs read your ? incorrectly... I'm sure they'll also do that still, as we've also had a couple of connecting balcony cabins that we just had him unlock. Connecting should be the same tho on any cabin...

It’s not the same for every cabin. Cove balconies only open on one side. Other cabins have various reasons as to why the partition can not be opened as well, the website I provided will tell them specifically which cabins can be opened and which cannot be, as well as to which neighboring cabin the balcony will connect to.
