  1. We are booked on AOS for June 1, 2018 out of Cape Liberty NJ to Portland, Bar Harbor, St. John and Halifax. In JUNE does anyone know what the weather will be like and what clothes we should be prepared to take? I know about the winter months, but it's the JUNE weather that we are inquiring about.

Also, anyone have excursions at any of this ports of calls that you would highly recommend or highly NOT recommend?

    Appreciate you guys! Thank you!

  2. We are sailing to Halifax in June 2018. Reading the reviews on the Maritime Museam and Titanic display, people complain they were rushed and didn't have as much time there are they wanted to. Does the Hop on Hop off tours make better since to see what you want and stay as long as you like? That is versus booking an specific excursion. Looking for suggestion that will allow us to make the most of the day.

  3. See a bottled water package on the Celebrity Cruise website but it's description is specific for in restaurants, lounges, etc. On other cruise lines, we can pre-order 12 bottles of bottled water to be delivered to the cabin for use during the cruise. I don't see an option like this for Celebrity. Anyone know how to get bottled water in your cabin to put in the refridgerator for daily use?

  4. Well, our last cruise was in May on Eclipse. I can tell you for sure it was 11 $ per glass then. I have no idea what it was before, but I suspect it is another one of the outdated informations on the infamous website.

If you are interested contact me by email (oliver at travelandcruise.net) and I can dend you a PDF of the wine list and the lounge drink menu. The wine list is from Blu. However, it should not be too different in other venues.

Thank you so much for your reply. I will email you.

  5. Wine is included in the Classic Beverage Package up to 11 $ per glass.

On our last cruise we travelled with parents and friend who all liked their wines - and always found something within the price of the package.

If you are above the included price, things are handled differently from time to time. Theory is that you have to pay the full price, not just the difference. However, on the mentioned cruise once or twice our friends wanted to try a different wine for 13$ a glass. The sommelier smiled at them and said "today it is part of the package"...

We enjoyed the Classic Package on a few cruises now and never felt the need to upgrade.

Thank you so much. The Celebrity Cruises website states that the wine is up to $9 per serving. Is that incorrect? I have a group traveling with me and all I am trying to do is address their questions and concerns. I'm very likely able to live with the Classic Package for like your said, it's not for all so just trying to understand some of the fine print. I know you understand.

  6. On the Classic package, I'm afraid you have to pay the full price for anything over the allowed limit.

My guess is most drinks are more than the allocated amount in this Classic Beverage Package so when we receive this for FREE for the booking, it likely has little value. Your thoughts?

  7. We booked Celebrity 11 day on the Equinox. We received a complimentary "Classic Beverage" package. It allows up to $8 for wine, $6 for beer, etc. Has anyone used this beverage package? Assume if the wine is $12 for a glass, we pay the difference? Any other limitations we should know about? Appreciate any and all info regarding this package.

  8. Free to walk in.... Go to the casino or any of the many restaurants.

You can take a taxi, they will drop you at the front door.

The water taxi will drop you at the dock, maybe a five minute or less walk.

If you are adventurous you can walk there over the bridge (I never tried that)

The water taxi gives you a brief harbor tour, last time I did it it was within $1 of the price of the land taxi (van)

Larry ...thank you so much! I felt this was possible but had to be certain as there are several of us just wanting to visit the hotel. I love the idea of the water taxi and that just might be what we decide to do. Your the best!

  9. Question for everyone! We are sailing to the Bahamas via Carnival in August. We want to go to the Atlantis Hotel. We don't want to take an excursion, just want to walk in, walk around, maybe have a cocktail, etc. Is it possible to do that or do you have to be a guest or booked on an excursion? If so, is there a fee to walk in and walk around? Sounds like a strange question but we don't want to participate in an excursion. Just a walk in visit, etc.

  10. We are booked on Celebrity Equinox in April 2017 for 11 nights to Costa Rica, Colon, Cartegena and more. Can anyone tell me if the formal nights are truly formal? We just got off another cruise and on formal nights, people had tennis shoes, jeans, ball caps, swimsuit cover ups, etc. We were dressed up and felt like fools. Hoping there is a real formal night and dress code. Can anyone share your experienc?

  11. For what it's worth, when I leave a cruise ship for a port of call, I take my passport, credit card, cash and medical card. If anything were to happen and I became separated from the ship and it left port, I would have my passport. My passport is worn under the shirt in a pouch to protect it from being lost or pick pockets. The cabin card you are issued on the ship ties you to the ship as long as the ship is in port. Once it leaves, it does no good. Everyone has their own thoughts on this.

You do not need a passport for a closed loop cruise in/out of a US port but from all I read, the cruise lines prefer you to have a passport and may eventually require it. I suggest getting one if you plan to cruise!
