  1. Gambee, just returned from a trip to Pigeon Forge in the Smokey Mountains and saw that you had started your review. Just caught up and it is excellent. Having only sailed on "X" I am interested in seeing the differences between the lines and also the Island of Bermuda which I have never been to. Can't wait for more of your great pics! I noticed from your pics of the S6 suite that there seems to be a coffee maker in the room !!! Is that what it is?

  3. I found out about your live review from reading Gambee's review of Silhouette and I'm glad I did. I also read his Allure and your Oasis reviews this week, which were both excellent, and have subscribed to his current review as well as yours. We have sailed on Equinox, Eclipse, and Reflection and liked each one so now I can see how the Silouette compares. Looking forward to the rest of your review and the great photography!

  5. Again, another great review! I have read all your previous reviews and enjoyed reading all of them and your great photos that add so much, it makes me feel as if I was along for the ride. Can't wait till your next cruising adventure that you will share with all of us, I hope. You are such a nice family and are blessed that you can all cruise together making wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. My wife and I just returned from an Eastern Caribbean cruise on Celebrity Reflection and hope to sail on Carnival someday as they have the closest ship to us here in N.C. which is the Fantasy based in Charleston. Although we prefer the larger ships maybe we'll give it a try someday especially after reading your informative reviews. Thanks again, and Merry Christmas to you and your entire family!

  6. Well, that's a bunch of crap! I don't have time to go back and correct all your errors in your original post as it's nearly 11pm here in Italy, and we are boarding Equinox in the morning. You are presenting a picture based only on your personal "opinion," and you know what they say about opinions -- everyone has one.

It's your opinion that the first off the hump is the best, but it is "fact" that the 1st and 3rd have the exact same size balconies.

Thanks, Wine-O, for the facts about the size of the balconies and enjoy your cruise aboard the wonderful Equinox, which I sailed on, and really enjoyed!

  7. Yes, the third cabins off the hump have the largest balconies too, but those cabins are deeper under the overhang, deeper above lifeboats so I haven't marked them as "the best".

Your opinion again. I have sailed in one and, to me,in my opinion is was one of the "best";).

  8. I am being told by the celebrity rep that all verandas are the same size (1A vs concierge). I see on other threads that there are a few larger if on the hump.

They are telling me no, that it only looks that way.

Are they just saying that or might it be true. I was looking to book 8197 which I read is larger on the solstice class.

    Anyone have any insight?

    Thanks!

Definately take the 1A. But IMHO i would take one of the 1A's on the slant portion of the hump near the midship elevators. According to a well known travel site there are some of those still available on decks 7,8,and 9. We had 8256 last cruise and loved the location. Only downside was that we couldn't see forward but no big deal, the 3X balcony made up for it. BTW we are on the same sailing in Dec. so please come on over to our roll call.

  9. Just returned from a short visit to Charleston and ate at Toast per your suggestion. Couldn't get in for breakfast but ate dinner there and really enjoyed it. My wife loves coconut creme pie and she thought theirs was one of the best ever. I had the chocolate creme pie and it was great as well. Ate seafood at Hymans one night and enjoyed it too. We drove by the port on the way out Tuesday and saw the Fantasy docked there and wished we could have boarded her... maybe someday.Looks like The Andrew found a job, great news!Really happy for you both and can't wait for your next review.
