  1. I found the drink situation interesting. In 35 years of consistent cruising, this was my first MSC and also the first theater where I was told I could not take my drink inside. After thinking this through, I am curious to see if other cruise lines start to do the same thing. Since drink packages are pretty much the norm nowadays, we have seen all the major cruise lines making small changes over the years to cut their costs regarding drinks. So I am sure by creating a No Drinks in the Theater rule, they are saving a ton of money when figuring in the staffing and how many drinks they don't have to serve over three shows a night.
  2. Good catch! As soon as I read your post I realized why that is the case. I took so many screenshots of different speed tests throughout the cruise that when I looked through them to add to my post, I took the highest and lowest. Well, the lowest was from September 4th at 10:15 AM...as I was sitting on the beach at Ocean Cay. So the 26 Down and 29 Up speeds I posted were while I was using the wifi on Ocean Cay. Still great speeds for a beach in the middle of the ocean and just for those that might be curious, the internet on the island is included in your wifi package purchased onboard the ship. The only caveat is that you will have to connect to the island wifi and login with the same credentials that you set up for the onboard wifi.
  3. I was on this same sailing and yes, you said it well. What appeared to be the majority of people on this sailing, were large tour groups from other countries and although the behavior they were exhibiting is considered totally normal in their countries, it is rude loud and inconsiderate by American standards. As others have stated, it definitely made a difference on this cruise in all of the dining areas, shows and public areas. In over 50 cruises, I can say that our fellow cruisers on this ship/sailing were by far the most challenging. With that being said, I found that a lot of this could have been avoided if the crew would take control of some of these areas. I have sailed on most major lines and this was my first MSC cruise. The crew on this ship just didn't seem to manage or care when it came to stuff like this. The best example is the main theater. Every show I attended was the same. The crew would scan cards to make sure everyone had a reservation but once the show started, it was a free-for-all. Passengers just kept walking in, talking at full volume as they tried to find seats for their parties, standing in the aisles blocking the view of those seated and this went on for the entire show. There were also kids sitting in the aisles and as kids do, they were not sitting quietly, enjoying the show. Then there were the cellphones...they were on everywhere with people holding them up high in front of them recording and taking pictures. I have never seen a theater, on land or at sea, that was so chaotic and there was not a crew member to be seen anywhere. Needless to say, the shows were not very enjoyable.
  4. Not a specific answer regarding the Seashore and I realize the initial poster is already on the ship enjoying their cruise, but for others who might be interested, I can share my recent experience and info that I gathered. I was on the Meraviglia two weeks ago and had the Browse and Stream package. Although I was not a huge fan of the cruise, I can say that after 50 plus cruises, this ship had the absolute BEST internet service that I have ever experienced on a ship. It was super fast and it worked flawlessly for the entire cruise. I never had an issue streaming on any of the major platforms and everything else worked smoothly without interruption. The Meraviglia was utilizing Starlink satellite service. Out of curiosity, I asked some crew members if this was what all of the MSC ships used but I couldn't get a really clear answer, some said yes, others said eventually they all will use it. I did random speed tests throughout the cruise and the max speed I was getting was 142 Mbps Down and 49 Mbps Up. The lowest speeds I saw were 26 Mbps Down and 29 Mbps Up.
  5. I was on Meraviglia two weeks ago and can confirm that the room is still there and being used. Although I did not go in, a friend that I was traveling with did use it on a regular basis. She said the crowd mostly consisted of the same people each time she went in.
