No, the name of the ship is not mentioned on the Daily.

Turns out the APP was correct in this case as the band in Rolling Stone was there tonight and did another good sht get too exited about the dueling pianos though. Just my opinion.

I thought the RS rock band was really good on this ship (two weeks ago) as well as on Neuiw Amsterdam in Jan. and on a TA on Rotterdam back in Oct. They really do  great job of a acquiring talent for these venues.

Yes, Eurodam has what is now called The Rolling Stone Lounge in the venue that used to be called BB Kings/Queens Lounge.

@ottahand7 just recently debarked from Eurodam and posted a "Live From" thread.  The Dailys were posted showing the times and themes for the entertainment.  See post #52 for the Daily.

Have a great time on Eurodam if you decide to go.

  3. I had a wonderful transatlantic cruise in October on the Rotterdam; I was especially impressed with the quality and variety of the Lido food - several carving stations, Salmon and other fish every night, fillet mignon several nights, wide variety of desserts, etc. Last week I just got off the Neiuw Amsterdam. The food was good, but not even close in variety or quality. The service was also not as great as on the Rotterdam.

Was the difference in the fact that the Rotterdam was a transatlantic cruise, or because Rotterdam is a pinnacle class ship, or was it due to the fact that the Neiuw Amsterdam was just realeased (two days late) from dry-dock, or was it some other factor?

We took a time after Noon when we had FTTF a couple of weeks ago.  That way others can get the early check in time if they don't have FTTF.  No reason to select early if you have FTTF.  We arrived at 10:30 AM and we were onboard at 12:15 PM.

With that said, things might have changed since then so probably best to select the earliest time available?

To be safe, I would pick the earliest time. Of course, it depends upon the port.

I don't understand why the P&D priority embarkation has not restarted. They stopped mask mandates, opened the casino for smoking, and stopped bubble tours. What is the hold up for priority boarding?

It is my opinion that they will bring back FTTF before Diamonds, etc. They do not have the profit incentive to do otherwise. With new varients, etc, you may never see priority boarding for Plats & Diamonds (except for priority check-in) again

Still sitting at the dock. Maybe some late arrivals. Doesn't seem like many people on the ship at all. We'll see over time if it changes.

Masks required in all the ports indoors or on transportation including tours. In La Romana and Amber Cove masks also required outdoors unless eating, drinking, or in the water.

Another good reason to not book a cruise in the DR.LOL

On our last Carnival cruise, pre Covid, we used the HUB app and thought it was great. Many benefits. Not sure why one would not want to use it.

In the future would bet the farm that all cruise lines will be using similar technology. May not be mandatory but sure makes life easier.

A reason someone (like me) would not want to use it is that all I have is a flip phone - pay-as-you-go. I do not want to spend hundreds on a phone that I do not need and would not know how to use.

I hope that you are right, but cruise lines have been accepting money for cruises that they know will not sail - why not the same with FTTF.

I seriously dobt that FTTF or priority boadrding will be offered to anyone due to the virus. This bums me because I am a plat, and I reallt enjoy being one of the early ones on the ship.

  9. This is just speculation on my part, but I would not be surprised to see Carnival cancel the refurbishment. They are obviously short on cash, the conversions are not popular with many people, and the whole redo idea is to crowd as many people as possible into ever shrinking spaces - exactly the opposite of CDC guidelines.  I just do not see it as a viable action.

That's easy. Close every other elevator and don't allow more than one elevator per floor at a time. 😂

Or make the elevators only available for people with bonafide handicap parking registration.

  11. I know a lot of you will disagree, but I would like them to get rid of the new cakes for lunch. The icing is like Crisco or lard and they are devoid of flavor. Maybe keep two or three cake choices, but on my last Journeys cruise (14 day) that was virtually all they had for dessert. I really missed Key Lime pie, and other old items.

I think the way Holland does the buffet was great. They served you your food, made you a salad, brought drinks to your table, etc.
