Kathy we are not on club class.  We have had some issues which I have not gone into here yet but am a familiar face at the service desk.  The supervisor here left about 4 weeks ago and a new one is on now.

On Monday night the theatre was full except a few single seats for the only show so for the rest of the week there will be 2 shows nightly.

Yesterday they had a special trivia at 2:22 pm to celebrate the 2/22/2022 date.  All questions had 2 or 22 as part of the question.

Heavy rain in port area as we docked in St. Thomas today but turned out to be a very nice day.  We were followed into port by a NCL and Disney ship.  We are here until 9:30 tonight.  Last night we got a note in the cabin that between 5 and 5:30 the ship would be moving to a new berth so leaving or re-boarding during that time, but we did not move.

You could still go up to deck 9 and see Terrance...............lol

The number I was given for next week is 1,419 which is subject to change.  For this week the cutoff for the top 40 lunch is 390 nights.

In Ft. L today it was cloudy.  Temp was to be 77F for a high but with cool breeze it felt cooler.

Disembraking started at 7:15.  All passengers were called by 9 but the last passenger did not leave until 9:35.  Getting back on the ship did not take too long after that.  There were less than 200 doing B2B this week.

NCAA basketball is being shown on in cabin TV as well as in Churchill lounge.

    WAYNE THIS IS FOR YOU

We were supposed to go on a cruise on the Island last year and you were going to help me at the Meet and Mingle. Hope you remember me?

If you get a chance go up to deck 9 mid ship where the mini-suites are in the morning when the cabin stewards are working. Ask for Terrance. He was mine for two weeks over the holidays and we became friends. In fact he is leaving on March 6th to go home to India and I am picking him up and taking him to breakfast/lunch and driving him to airport in Miami. Too funny I had to ask him how much luggage he has cause I have a corvette and wanted to make sure it would fit............lol

He is incredible. If you need anything ask him and he will do it.

Tell him I said HI. We talk on What's App along with the Deck supervisor for that deck. Supervisor had to leave a week after I left his mom died in India. Will be back on Caribbean end of April but we also talk on What's App.

Hope your having fun on the cruise.

If your in club class let me know and I will tell you some people to ask for or for the customer service desk supervisor. He gave me a Stanley Bear on NYE

@rabin1  I think you are referring to an excursion that occurs on the day we are in the port of Puerto Amador (tomorrow for us).  They take you on a small boat thru the old Pacific side locks.

I can't tell you more because we have not taken a ships tour in a very long time.  Btw, thank you for the compliment.  I try to be informative.

We just received our next covid testing appointment, since we are staying on for the subsequent 14 day Caribbean voyage.  The test will be this coming Friday afternoon, which is the last full day of the cruise, in the conference room.

    Thank you very much

You are correct your posts are very informative. I was on the Caribbean over the holidays for 2 weeks and have the Emerald for the holidays this year. That is why I was asking my question. I have done the old locks boat tour so now I am not sure if I need to do it again................lol

I was in the sanctuary most sea days and St Thomas day cause I do not like St. Thomas. I never had a scone before except up there.

Have a great rest of your trip and thanks again for all your information you post

    Blessings

I've been wracking my brain on the Princess website trying to find a cruise that starts in LA and does a full transit of the Panama Canal to Ft. Lauderdale and then departs Ft. Lauderdale the same day to go back through the Canal to LA.  I'm not picky about whether it travels the historic or new locks either direction, but prefer a larger ship like the Emerald over the Island Princess.  We'd like to go in Jan 2023 or later.

Am I missing something or does Princess just not offer this possibility?  Any info appreciated.

Emerald December over the holidays. I know cause I am on it. I live in Lauderdale so flying to LA a few days early. Oops sorry doesn't go back to LA I don't think

  5. So if I understand correctly if I ask for a bottle of water at a bar it is okay to take back to the stateroom at no charge? I did buy the 12 bottles over my 2 week holiday cruise and did not use them all. I like to use the bottled water for medications. Only going on next cruise for a week and know I won't use 12 bottles. Wish I could buy a few of the really big bottles

Thank you for all the answers

When we arrived on board on January 2 there was one lotion on the counter.  They didn’t have the bags according to my steward.  He made a basket out of a hand towel and filled it with 3 lotions, a shampoo/conditioner, a loofah, 2 emery boards, 2 shower caps, a body gel and some q-tips.

Maybe it was type of cabin or something. I don't know I was ONLY saying what I did and got

There is no elite goody bags, just got lotion. Only got gin and scotch with the mini bar so I had to order a bottle of vodka. Swapped out my fanta for tonic water. Used the app to order an extra towel and an ice bucket. Booked the train and coastal cruise for St. Kitts to use up our OBC.  Lunch was very good,  loved doing the muster on the TV, sailaway champagne has been delivered. Now we're just chilling until we head up to the sailaway party...

I was on this ship on a B2B over the holidays. They have the bags with the things in it but you need to ask the cabin steward and he will get it for you. Mine did

  8. I just got off the Caribbean on a B2B over the holidays.

2 things to be aware of regarding the app and the TV

    1. twice I ordered a salad on the TV and twice I waited over 2 hours and never received. I was told there was a glitch and canceled . This was 2 different days.

    2. On the app on the preferences before I left I put in a request and they did not know about it. I had checked it twice. I guess my fault should have asked my PVP

Thanks Kathy for this information, it feels so reassuring to know that you've actually experienced the system that they have in place     Enjoy your cruise on Sunday.     We just need to keep our fingers crossed that there are no changes to the procedures for us between now and our travels mid April.

Would they print a copy off for us, if we asked, just in case our wifi is sketchy.     What information is required on the paperwork on their email, and I'm presuming this is sent as a confirmation when you book the appointment?

There is no hurry to answer these questions, as I've said we don't travel until April, go and enjoy your cruise, and look forward to hearing from you on your return.

When you make your appointment they will send you a confirmation and a link to create an account. That account will save you a lot of time when you get there

I don't know if they will print you a copy I didn't ask. If they won't there is a Pak N Ship next door that once you receive it on your email they will be able to print it.

    Happy Holidays

    Thanks Kathy,

I look forward to hearing your experience on Friday.    One of my friends uses a wheelchair, so I'm not sure if Uber or Lyft would accommodate for that, I have time to research.    Are you cruising this weekend?

    Hi

I had the test today where I told everyone to go. Several things.

    1. the. are located in a strip center very easy to find

    2. you knock on the door, give them your ID and appt time and go sit in your car or wait outside whichever you prefer.

    3. they come to you to take the test which took less time than driving there from my house. Took them maybe 5 minutes including them loading your id etc

    4. it took 20 minutes for them to email the results which was on a very official looking document with codes for the test etc. I printed out a copy and left it on the phone in case.

    5. I would definitely suggest making the appt and then filing out the paperwork on their email. I think that is what made it go so fast.

    6. I watched as a few other people came and left. The took about the same amount of time

    VERY QUICK

I am leaving early Sunday morning so if anyone has questions it will have to wait until I get home in 2 weeks.

Just follow my instructions on the two posts I made about this company

You do not let your kids get away with crap only hurts them

Please thank your son for his service and for keeping us safe. God Bless all the soldiers

  12. There is a number you can call in Santa Clarita that is into the main office. I never posted it cause I knew too many would use it and then I would not be able not to be on hold.

Anyway I called and asked. On the first week of my B2B which is Christmas week there is 100 on the second week NYE week there are 210. Probably as someone said since they will be out of school.

Again thank you to all that kindly posted but not to the one person who found my troubles a laughing matter. I wish I could figure out why some people have to be that way oh well there problem not mine.  thanks again

  13. Thank you all. As I said in my OP I don't mind children it is the children that are unsupervised and do the things like I said have been done to me that bother me. It is the children like LaCruisers88 I hope are there. As far as changing no I cannot and would not. I leave this Sunday and maybe I am stupid but I pay a fortune for these cruises and do not understand once again why my cruise has to be problematic with unruly kids as I said in my second post.

Anyway Hope Everyone have a Happy Holiday.

If kids between 5 and 11 were vaccinated the first 2 weeks  or so of availability they can travel next week and/or the following.   Next week's cruise might not have very many because winter break for most US school districts doesn't start until the end of the week.  I expect there will be quite a few kids the week of Dec 26 to January 2 since it is school vacation week everywhere.  We've never had a problem with kids on our 27 Princess cruises including three 7 day Alaska cruises that had large numbers of kids and families.  Hope you have the same luck!

But can they be added after final payment date?

I had two problems. Once on a Christmas cruise some brats took my magnetic door decorations and stole them. I did not know this but apparently there are cameras in the corridor. When I saw the captain one day I told him. Couple days later security called me told me they identified them. Said went to talk to the parents of those that did it. Told them any more incidents and they would be put off the ship.

Another time on another cruise this little kid I would say about 7 or 8 ran hard past my door every morning. I was bound and determined to catch him. Finally one day I did. I told him if he kept it up I was going to trip him and told him to go tell his parents what I said in the hopes they would come knocking on my door and I could have a conversation with them. Either he did  not tell them or they knew they were in the wrong but never heard from them.

I go on these cruises to rest as I own my own business NOT to have some else's kids wake me up and steal my property.

Next Sunday. I think they can accommodate a wheelchair better than a taxi. Remember south Florida has a lot of senior citizens
