  1. Thanks for the info from your premier cruise sounds like you had a ball. If I may ask did you feel the bar service was slower in the casino during your cruise, many people complain about it during a premier cruise. I'm on my 1st one in December!

At times it was slow, but not too bad. Go to the bank and get two dollar bills to use for tips. This will help you stand out to the servers and keep them on the "lookout" for you. One night I had a server bring me a drink every fifteen minutes without asking.

  2. Coolers have to be no larger than 12"x12". I had one on wheels that was 12"x13", the smallest l could find. I was turned away with it at the Baltimore port. What I use now is a soft sided cooler that is removable from the small callapsable hand truck it came with. I pack the cooler in my checked luggage and use the little hand truck for the 12pacs and the wine. On the last night of the cruise everything but a change of clothes and the cooler/hand truck go in the checked luggage. We put are dirty clothes in the cooler the next morning and disembark.

  3. Had a premier cruise last year. Both of you in the cabin get the DOU card and are both entered into the drawings. Must be present to win. The gifts I received included chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, champagne and a nice beach towel. There was a slot tournament on the next to last day. You had to reach a certain # of points to be entered. You also have priority boarding, that's all of the FTTF perks you get. Also you'll get a lanyard that says premier VIP waiting for you in your cabin. You'll have a good time. I know I did. I have another premier booked in December and can hardly wait.

  4. Ouch. That's really a shame.

I think we're going to end up with the one level above that on both our phones. That'll let us send text messages through Facebook, I believe, which hopefully will be more reliable.

Exactly what we had to do on the Glory last month

  5. So kids misbehave on cruises, so what? Why waste your time gripping about it here? Is that going to change the kids? Is that going to change the parents? I think not.

If you want less misbehaving kids on Carnival write to management and complain. And then complain some more when they don't do anything. Or sail on a child-free cruise line (or mostly child-free) or go to adults only resorts. Some posters have suggested chastising the misbehaving kids and or praising the well behaved kids. That's better than just gripping about it on CC.

P.S. Based on the behavior in Parliament in Ottawa and Congress in Washington, I think bad behavior by children is not a new phenomenon.

My bad......didn't know that I was griping. Guess it's perfectly acceptable to gripe about someone griping.

  6. Does anyone control their kids anymore? On my last cruise on the Glory a couple weeks ago there was a pack of young teens that were racing up and down the corridors doing the knock-and-run. I managed to control myself and not say nothing to the little darlings. Until I walked around the corner to get on the elevator. Only to catch one of them kicking the call buttons repeatedly. I raised my voice, telling her to stop and why. She just looked at me funny, kicked it again and ran. Couldn't of been more than 10 and this was around 12:30 am.

  7. Yes good idea. I'll just cancel flights, cancel accommodation in orlando and reschedule the cruise for the sake of a 12-round boxing event.

I'm sure the wife wont complain. :D

OR I'll just watch the highlights the day after.

Sounds like a very understanding woman......nice catch;)
