We are having a family reunion cruise next June 14 on MarinerOS. The prices are ridiculously high and may prevent some from coming along. DH and I are paying 1800 for a balcony room; this is a 3 Day Cruise!! I could do a 4 day Disney for the same price. We also have a 5 day Celebrity balcony with tips, drinks, and $300 OBC for only $1335 total.
Please dont suggest changing the cruise since plans, vacations, etc. are already set for most. I just want your ideas as to why this much money for a 3 day-er?

Thanks!

Well, husband now has a portable oxygen concentrator , a CPAP, and a mobility scooter that breaks down into pieces. He is 86 and I am 76. We taken the CPAP lots, but not the other two. Last week, we took the POC and the CPAP on a plane and security was a nightmare. In addition, "they" (at the POC store) said it wwould fit under the seat of a plane. It does, if you dont mind sitting with your feet on it and your knees in the air.
To add a mobility scooter to all this seems more than we want to do. Can anybody help with advice??

We've done several Celebrity cruises in Aqua Class and loved the food in their restaurant, Blu. We are thinking of doing Yacht Club on MSC. It seems that we would really enjoy the privileges and benefits of YC on MSC. Any thoughts?

Yes, we purchased the policy when we booked and paid in full

We are scheduled to leave Monday on Reflection. DH has COPD for several years. He has been fine but a few days ago he came down with a slight cold which developed into an "COPD exacerbation" which causes him to cough and cough and cough, makes him dizzy, and he feels unwell. He went to the doctor Thursday and is on meds.
We paid for the cruise in full on October 30. I know CruiseCare has a restriction that you cant be compensated if you have been treated for something 60 days prior to that. He has been fine for two years and this present event just came up. Anybody wise in the insurance business, please advise!!!

Blu on Eclipse in 2016 not so great. Blu on Equinox in 2017 AMAZING! We love AQ

Life talks are done by specialists in one area. They might sound boring, but really can be very interesting and entertaining.

We are taking this short cruise (and got an incredible price too). There are 2 sea days and 1 port dayin Cozamel. Any idea if there will be any Celebrity Life talks? Anything special going on just before Christmas? We are going with friends who have only cruised NCL and Carnival; we want them to be blown away!

Actually it was the wife of the couple who was so rude and shrill and ugly. The man said nothing. The assistant seemed very nice, however; whatever that young woman assistant was paid, it was not nearly enough!!

About rude people on the 7-23 sailing: there was an older couple onboard with their assistant. The poor man seemed to be hearing-impaired and had dementia, I think. The wife complained and abused just about everyone. In the terminal, they waited for their luggage and a very nice young man who worked there came up to the man and asked if they needed any help. The woman shrieked: Leave him alone!! Can't you tell he can't hear?? I saw her behavior all throughout the cruise. I really don't know how their poor assistant stood it

We were on the same cruise. It was wonderful. We have had a tough 3-4 months and we relaxed the entire time. We were in Aqua and Blu was incredible all the time; a few things I didn't like but they have, imho, really upped the menu. Our servers, John and Sebastio, were so helpful and the maitre d' Linda was funny and so friendly. We did quite a few spa experiences ( we needed to relax) and except for two of the women at the check in/out desk, the service was (again) wonderful. The two at the desk either a) didn't speak English well (really) or b) didn't care. So we made our own arrangements with the staff and let them deal with the desk. I also found one of the ladies in the cosmetic/perfume shop a little snotty but the other one was great. BTW the sales on the upscale handbags are legit.
There were lots of kids but they were having a ball at the kids' clubs and were all enthusiastic and polite. Kids don't bother us so we were fine with them. All in all a great cruise and we'll be back as soon as we can

We are set for the Equinox next Sunday, July 23. If anyone just came back today (Sunday 7-16), can you tell me about the entertainment? I realize it may change. Also, any other things we should know about, such as big changes, etc.

This is great. Thank you so much!

DH has a lightweight, three part scooter. We need advice for taking it on a plane. We have heard that they get torn up, damaged beyond repair, etc. Help!

What's a Society X party??
-
Because I never saw the thread again.

Our TA had some excellent speakers and I see on another thread that there were Celebrity Life speakers on last fall's 10 day Equinox cruise.
Do they have special Life speakers on 7 day Equinox cruises? I do NOT mean the ones where they tell you where to go shopping or the art "classes".
-
I am NOT talking about the port talks etc. On our TA there were a number of talks given aboard about history, oceanography etc. by real experts.
Are these also on 7 day Equinox cruises?
-
We are on the Equinox for a 7 day cruise July 23. One of the things we really enjoyed on our transatlantic was the interesting speakers (I think they call it Celebrity Life?). Are there speakers on the Equinox cruise?
I do NOT mean the shopping talks about the upcoming ports or the art talks :(

I don't know about other islands or ports, but when you first get off the ship going into San Juan, the streets are very, very uneven. So much so that my DH and I gave up (he has a tough time walking)
-
Thanks all. We really aren't expecting anything so if nothing happens, we will be good

When I called Celebrity to book a cruise for July 23, the man at Celebrity asked if we had anything special going on. He then noted tha both of us have birthdays in July. Question: do they do anything much for birthdays? We are in Aqua class for what it's worth.

Some of the biggest whiners are on Celebrity. It seems that all they write about is cutbacks. Plus they cost more and is a "modern luxury" brand. Another time, we sailed on Holland and were upgraded to a Neptune Suite. Part of the perks was access to a lovely lounge area. A lady had a fit because she had to ask for a piece of bread for her toast. People even whine about Disney and I think DCL is a great experience.

We are doing a 3 day MOS cruise with the whole family, some 25 in all. The ship spends a very, very long time in Nassau and then another day on the private island. Question: some of us dislike Nassau very much. Will there be any activities on board ship during the time we are in Nassau (7:30am to 9:30pm)
