  1. I have not traveled Holland America in quite some time, sailing NCL most of the time. My apologies if these questions have been answered in other posts. Traveling on the Nieuw Statendam later this month.

    1. Do the room stewards clean / tidy up the room once or twice a day ?

    2. Is there a fee for room service ?

    3. Does the signature beverage package include the coffee shop and / or speciality teas ?

Any tips would also be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

  2. My take on some of these benefits ... we were most recently on the Gem ... we are Diamond.

"Dinner With An Officer" is usually "Dinner With A Crew Member" (should be renamed) ... our last dinner was with one of the hostesses from the casino on Valentine's Day. I think the choice of day was deliberate to weed out those wanting a "romantic dinner" ... we were also told that those "chosen" are by lottery ... is it a perk then ?

"Wines Around The World" was very disorganized ... I felt like it was their first time doing this. There were four stations and you had to stand to sample the wines and they would rinse your glass above this large container ... too much "splish-splashing" and handling of my glass for me to feel comfortable after coming out of a Covid pandemic. Everyone then rotated to the next station. Four wine people would speak at the same time. We left.

"Mixology Class" was AMAZING. It was held at the great outdoors bar. It featured all of their "sustain" beverages ... all yummy!

  3. I have a cruise scheduled to sail early February. I realize that I can not ask for any reimbursement if the price of the cruise goes down. Here is my question. The price of the next category cabin went down a few hundred dollars less than what I paid. I called and asked if I could switch cabins and how much would it cost me. I was expecting a small service fee for the changes. Again I did not ask for any money back although I paid more for my cabin. The agent said it would cost me $4,000 to upgrade. I terminated the conversation. Is this a new policy ?

  4. I would appreciate if a recent NCL Gem Full-Suite [not haven] passenger could advise if the special / exclusive Breakfast and Lunch perk is still available ... if so, what dining room is now used.

The NCL website does not appear to include the Breakfast and Lunch perk as a Full-Suite amenity ... only butler and concierge service.

    Thank you.

  5. My apologies if this question has been asked.

What are the differences (mainly dining) between a Suite or Haven on the Gem. I know things have changed within the past year but I am out of the loop. I realize the Haven areas are exclusively for Haven guests (and rightfully so) but what are the perks of being in a Suite ? Thank you in advance.

  6. we will be sailing on the Celebrity Solstice this month ... Please excuse if these questions have been asked before ... we will be staying in Aqua class ...

    Thank you in advance ...

    1. Are "on demand" movies comp or is there a fee per movie ?

    2. Is a PCR test acceptable as long as it is two days before embarkation ? I am vaccinated and my local pharmacy has results in 24 hours.

    3. Is the comp laundry bag per person or per cabin ... We are both elite ?

  7. I was on the Getaway (02.27.2022) with a Port Canaveral stop from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM ... the ship arrived late in Port and the bus did not leave until 3:00 PM ... we arrived in Disney at 4:00 PM ... it translated to no more than 3 full hours in the port ... the good news for me ... it only cost me via NCL bus $7.00 round trip taking into account the $50.00 credit and my Sapphire 15% ... I also have a Disney annual pass ... do I did not pay park admission ... If you really have your heart set on Disney ... I would rent a car and invest in the Genie feature ... also keep in mind ... the bus parks at the transportation and ticket center to accommodate MK and Epcot guests ...

  8. I realize that the Haven has a special area as well as a private dining room.

What are the "special" amenities on the Joy in a suite (not club balcony suite) ... is there a butler ... breakfast and lunch in a speciality restaurant. I have stayed in a suite pre-pandemic with these amenities  but I know things have changed. Thank you in advance.

  9. In January all main stage shows started at 8:00 PM ... Bliss January 16 - 21 ... only one main stage show per evening ... plenty of space for last-minute walk-ins ... Jersey Boys (two times), The Beatles, a husband and wife team (talented but not meant for main stage) and a comedian. Unfortunately Six was axed.

  10. I am thinking of booking a cruise (late February 2022) from my home port approximately a month from sailing ... hoping the fares go down. After choosing my cabin (which I will be happy with) ... will it be too late to be part of the bidding process ?

  11. I have several questions and thank you in advance ... departing on Sunday ...

    1. Which is the best pier for an Uber to drop us off ? ... it is my understanding that the check in area differs from the testing area .

    2. Is the main dining room open on embarkation day ?

    3. Did you have to wear masks indoors ?

    4. Is this correct ... a. getting PCR tested tomorrow (Wednesday) for Sunday sailing ... b. have my Eurofins bar code ... c. on Thursday I complete the Bermuda T.A. form with PCR results and vaccination card

    5. Is there anything else I should be aware of ?

  12. I had a bad experience with my PCC ... This person stopped responding to emails and calls once I asked him / her to make simple modifications to my booking.

I recently had to cancel a cruise and I was told I could not do it through NCL but had to cancel through my PCC ... I explained to them that I called NCL various times to get this person removed from my account. (I haven't heard from this person for 19 months).  Finally an NCL supervisor got involved and my situation was rectified ... I hope.

Those of us sailing on the 9/26 Breakaway received our protocol emails today. As expected, we must take a PCR test four days prior to sailing, pay the $75 to complete the Bermuda Travel Authorization application and upload test results to that, take another test (can be antigen or PCR) within 72 hours of departure, and take an antigen test at the pier. The only thing that is different from what we anticipated is that, rather than taking a PCR test upon arrival in Bermuda, Eurofins will administer a PCR test at the pier along with the standard antigen test and the results from that will be accepted for us to be able to dock/get off the ship in Bermuda.

So to clarify ... those of us living in the NYC area DO NOT (as of this moment) have to have any testing done at neighborhood testing facilities ... NCL is taking care of all testing??? Thank you ...

  15. My husband will be "Elite" members with our upcoming cruise at the end of this month ...

Regarding the perks ... namely laundry ... it it per person or stateroom ...

    Thanks in advance ...

  16. Please excuse me if these questions have been answered a million times as I most recently cruised with NCL ... who did the rapid test on embarkation day.

    1. CVS offers the "Rapid-result test (antigen)" ... is this an acceptable test for Celebrity?

    2. If Saturday is embarkation day ... I can get the test on the preceding Wednesday, Thursday or Friday ?

    Thank you in advance ...

  17. I just got back yesterday from 7 nights from the Jade Greek Isles itinerary in a Club Balcony Room ...

These are the perks I received ...

Two treats delivered (one was gourmet ... one was cookies from buffet)

    Bottle of sparkling wine

A "special" bar of soap and hand cream

One bag of laundry OR 1 bag of pressing

There is a high-stepping tub with shower doors

    Robes

    Coffee set up in cabin

I was told room service was not included (comp) with the exception of continental breakfast (if you enjoy tea there is no designated pot and the water smelled like coffee)

I was also told that I could help myself to the water ... As platinum plus we already received two cartons each ... I was hesitant utilizing anything with a price on it

  18. I am currently in the process of booking two speciality restaurants for 6 people (3 couples) ... As soon as I was able to book at 125 days out I did but very unhappy that the only times for 6 people were at 5:30 PM and 9:30 PM.

Is it futile and a waste of time trying to call NCL Dining ... I have wasted  many an hour on hold and was just wondering if anyone had any success doing this.

    Thank you in advance.

  19. I know I shouldn't complain as the BOGO roundtrip price from NYC to Athens was "too good to be true" ... that being said ... is it normal for the seats not to be together ... it is only my husband and myself traveling ... we are not even in close proximity to each other for a 10 hour flight ... just got my flight details and was taken aback that we aren't sitting next to each other ...i can't even find a seat map for Alitalia ... thanks  in advance ...

  20. Please excuse me if this topic has been addressed ... I am a little rusty trying to remember the various perks if one stays in a Suite opposed to the Haven ...

    for a suite ...

    1. is there butler and concierge service ?

    2. Are suite guests entitled to breakfast and lunch in a speciality dining room ?

    thank you in advance ...
