The volcano isn't always active enough to have the lava flows. We did a sail by on the Island Princess in 2005 and it was awesome. But then it was dripping lava into the ocean at that time.
I read your review of your last Hawaii cruise. Thank you for sharing your experience. I was just sad the pictures have expired. Do you have them in an album somewhere? -
My daughter and I are doing this itinerary in November, so I appreciate your review.
I was just wondering if the ship does a "drive-by" of an active volcano at night? I've read that NCL does this, but didn't know if it was something done by Princess.

We have room booked in a couple of weeks. I'll let you know. If my dd can help I can post pictures.
Please do. My dad is booked in that room and I am concerned about the noise from pool parties and such.

That's it! I am going on the Allure for my 50th birthday in September!
That is what I am doing in April. :)

I've been reading this in my spare time at work for about the past week, and I've finally reached the end. I've been trying to think of anything to post, but can't really come up with anything. All of my cruises have been to Alaska, and most of them on Princess, so I guess not much exciting happens on my cruises. I have never seen anyone vomit, relieve themselves, or have "relations" in any inappropriate places. I've seen tipsy people, but never passed out or falling down drunk. Never seen a fight, or people missing the boat, or even a med-evac. I've enjoyed my cruises immensely, but they have been rather uneventful.
I'm not sure I'd want to take a cruise where all these crazy things happen, but I'm really glad that so many of you do, and post the stories here! :D
I believe these things happen on EVERY cruise. You just have to be in the right place at the right time...or the wrong place at the wrong time...depending on your point of view. :D

 When did Captain Rob move to the Freedom?
I was sad to see that he had moved on from the Enchantment. I had him several times on the Grandeur and was happy to see him on the Enchantment in November.

Welcome back Capt Kjonso!
Enchantment OTS - Capt Anders Ingebrigsten (started rotation 6-25-11)
Enchantment OTS - Capt Gus Andersen
We had Capt Gus on the 6/25/11 sailing. Capt Anders started on the 30th.

My husband and I were on the Facination last Memorial Day. He couldn't sleep so decided to take a walk about 3am. On the top deck there was a couple and she was on top and so on and so on.
Well, yeah...no one else is supposed to be awake at 3:00 a.m. :)

One thing that I miss...real half-n-half on Royal Caribbean in the Lido cafes. My corner McDonald's has creamer, but a cruise ship that doesn't? We could only get it in the dining rooms. Last time they ran out of the Cremora and actually put powerder packets out. Someone must have finally complained loudly enough, because eventually there were pitchers of half-n-half. But really, shouldn't that have been an option all along?

Then the cruise director asks where is the elevator? The wife looks sheepish - the husband gives a little cough. Again the cruise director asks where is the elevator? Then I think the husband said " the one in the lobby - you know the glass one !!!!! Silence then everyone erupts into hysterical laughter.....but the cruise director has nothing to say....he is speechless. Anyway, they were the elevator couple from then on. Keep em coming, I will check this thread often.....
That was a pretty good one...although I'm trying to picture how quick that would have been. LOL

...so I was walking down to the restaurant with my stuffed bird on the shoulder of my life jacket, trying to keep my Burger King crown on with one hand, when this wig comes at my face from nowhere....:D
OMG, this just put me into a coughing fit.
Treasure Hunt
in Princess Cruises
Posted
I am just off the Star Princess and this is the first time I participated in the Treasure Hunt. We had two days to get the stamps (not too difficult as they were all in close proximity except for the Lotus spa). As stated by others, it was a way for Princess to show you the location of the places you could spend your money.
The drawing was held in the Princess Theater on the second day and there were tons of entries. I was not impressed with the prizes and felt it was deceptive to say it was worth $500 when that prize was a credit toward art.
