  1. We are new to Princess after Celebrity. We have done Regal and Sky. We have Sky and Sun booked. We are in a reserve cabana mini suite also. I have to say, in comparison, the food on our regal cruise was disappointing but it was right after the restart. Sky was much better and the specialty restaurants are much cheaper than celebrity

  2. I can beat that! I was on the phone for FOUR hours with Celebrity trying to locate my credit card reward points that I had redeemed against my payment and some were missing. Hold for 40 minutes .  spoke to three different employees who had heavy accents and had no idea what I was talking about,.  On hold each time I that I was asking for someone who I could understand. After three hours of holds, and accents the final person flat out told me he had no idea and gave me another number to call.  BINGO! This gentleman knew what I wanted and how to locate missing redeemed points. He even took my payment. Had the first three just given me the correct number to get my solution instead of transferring , holding and lying, I could have saved four hours!!!!

  3. My daughter works at home for a major travel company and she is closely monitored because the supervisors are in the US. However, they have outsourced to India and Brazil with apparently little monitoring. Most they have done is set up a place for the US workers to complain. She also has issues with sone airlines who outsource and the workers cannot be bothered.  She called an airline last week and the person who answered refused to rebook her people and told her that the booking office was closed. Told her they are only open Monday to Friday!  She cannot call the airline directly so this is as a problem and it was a 20k trip

  4. I totally agree with all of the frustrations here   I have a CVP who is not very responsive   I had a question about my reward points on my Princess VISA card. Barclay's sent me to Princess and that began an hour of absolute HELL. The person who responded had no idea what I was talking about and kept reading how to cash in reward points.  Not what I was calling about. Put on hold, came back with same thing. This happened a few times. It was now Groundhog Day. I asked for a supervisor , put on hold and she came back telling me how to cash in rewards,  THEN told me to go back to Barclay's. And yes, lots of background noise., laughter, etc,

My daughter works for a major online travel company that represents  major hotels and airlines. She deals with clients' issues onsite.  Her company has outsourced to SA and India./  It is awful! They make major mistakes that she has to unwind. They lie because they don't know what they are doing and often just flat out refuse to do something. There is noise in the background and it is very unprofessional. My daughter works from home with four kids and a dog. They know not to make noise while she is upstairs in her office working. Point is, this is not unique to Princess.

Ah thought you meant the arrow pointing forward and it didn't scream tan to me 😀

The area behind the forward arrow is the Sea View Bar area and outside pool (which starts inside the Dome) on Deck 17 leading down to the Sea View Terrace on deck 16. This is open to all.

There is a wrap around deck down at the prom deck level but not clear from the deck plan if it's for public use.

Thanks!!! I  looking at the tan area lower on that side. The reserve cabana deck should be somewhere around there I think.

  6. Personally I have no desire to go to virgin. Too old for Virgin and want to be able to remain with Princess. All I want is for parents to take responsibility for their kids’ behavior if princess is becoming more family oriented.

  7. We have only been on regal right after Covid and sky. There were literally no kids on either ships except for toddlers in strollers. We also do not travel during school vacations and the summer which helps. However, when we used to sale on RCI and they started adding all, the amusement park things, there were hundreds of kids and a lot of them were poorly behaved. That’s why we moved to Celebrity and now princess. All I think any of us are asking is that parents keep an eye on their children, especially young teens, and don’t allow them to run around and be disrespectful.  Doing a cannonball into the pool is dangerous, and rude. However, that was an incident we saw where the father just sat on the side of the pool and cheered them on.

  8. Very well said! You are right, it only takes a couple families who feel entitled that their children should be welcomed everywhere included in bars, etc. I too have experienced that kind of obnoxious behavior and left RCI for Celebrity and princess because it’s less likely to have a lot of kids because there’s not much to attract them. It’s so annoys me when anyone of us who are feeling this way makes our feelings no and are pounced upon by probably the very same people who let their kids run amok are. I think we all agree that if this is going to be the way of the future for princess,  we just want parents bringing their children, to be responsible and respectful to the rest of us. I don’t think that’s too much to ask and we have as much weight as they do.

I don’t do non refundable deposits either.

I’m checking with my TA on Monday, I will ask also.

Did you try to call PCL or do the chat to ask?

Celebrity has had nonrefundable deposit for a number of years which I found quite offensive in light of Covid. There is an option to make your deposit refundable, which is a pay extra per cabin, which I think is based on the cost of the trip. Because of this and a number of other Money making charges, we moved on to Princess. We have a cruise on equinox in October, which was non-refundable so we’re going through with it. We’ve done to on Princess, and have two more booked, and I am disappointed that now the deposits are going to be nonrefundable.  Sign of the times

What in the world is John thinking??????? This is NOT the Princess brand!!!! There is nothing wrong with the formula Princess currently has, they get their ships filled. This park idea is so BEYOND UNNECESSARY! Yes we do have multi-generational families that come on board but I wouldn't say thousands upon thousands of children. Not saying adults wouldn't enjoy the area themselves but there are cruise lines are dedicated to that. Oye Vey!

I could not agree more! I sail on Princess because they do not have amusement parks! We sailed on Oasis and Allure years ago before they were refitted to kiddie land. Moved to Celebrity when even the older RCI ships began having "legos" on top. We are booked on Sun but in cabana mini suite on deck 9 forward so hopefully we will be so away from this. Could be our first and last on the new ships

  11. No need to apologize. This is a real learning curve. Lots of confusion, lots of different names, and categories. I think the cruise planners were initially very confused also. I think I have it figured out, but hell, I could be very wrong.

I don't know who promised that, but I don't think it's true. If you read all the info available, it says only Reserve Cabana rooms will have access to the Reserve Restaurant and the Reserve deck. We studied all the information and deck plans because the Future Cruise Specialist onboard the Ruby in March also thought that and booked us in a CA room.  When I got home and did more research, we switched to a C2 and lost $600 onboard credit as the promotion had expired, but that's how much we believe it to be true. I have seen videos saying all kinds of things, but I don't think they know what they are talking about.  Obviously the Future Cruise Specialist didn't know the difference either! It's almost impossible to find anyone that really knows.

They just recently changed the language on the Princess site to make it clearer about the Cabana mini suites. It now says: "Enjoy Reserve Collection upgrades on select Cabana Mini-Suites. In addition to the great amenities found in all Cabana Mini-Suites, you will receive Reserve Collection upgrades, including access to the Reserve Collection Restaurant."

I wish you luck and hope you get what you want.

Mary Ann and I had this discussion many posts back. I thought that my cabana mini suite on deck 11 had those perks. After much discussion and both of us hashing it out, we came to the conclusion that CA cabins were not Reserve and did not have those perks. I checked with my planner who also did research and CA does not get those perks. Only C1 snd C2 on deck 9 have them. I moved first to a cabin on deck 9 which I then realized was right on the Sun Deck and I did not want people outside my cabin. Then move to a C2 on 9 with the perks and privacy   Lol I think my planner will stop responding to me

  13. As I just stated, we have no idea how wide that sundeck is going to be and I don’t seriously think that everybody is going to go there every single day. I really do have faith in the engineers that they have figured this one out.

The C2 cabins are the sections forward (9106-9236) and aft (9324-9358).   The middle section I was referring to are C1 cabins (9238-9320).  The C1 is the Cabana deck, which has the walkway between the edge of the ship and where your cabana ends.  There is no walkway with the C2 cabins.

There would not be enough space for all of those cabins to have access to that area. 146 cabins to have access to those strips of space on both sides of the ship would not be enough space. It is more than likely just for those C1 cabins that are adjacent.  And it looks like there are gates at the top and bottom of the sections, so you are possibly even only allowed in your section whether it be starboard or aft, but that is just an assumption.

C2 DOES have access to sun deck

We do not know how wide the sun deck is

The only people that could possibly walk by are the those in the 16 other cabins in the cabana section.  It's not like the entire ship could be walking by.  It's similar to the Havana area on the 3 Vista Class ships on Carnival, which has 13 other cabanas in your section.  There will be gates at both ends of your section and only certain medallions will open them.

Not so. The other C2 cabins at either end of the sun deck (not on the sundeck) are also reserve cabana mini suites   There are 44 cabins  We don't know how access with be monitored or did I miss some new info?
