Bananarama
in Roatan
Yes, all independent tour companies have to wait it in the same spot. They can drop you off at the port entrance but not pick you up there. It sounds a but confusing but really it's not.Got it. Thanks a lot. We just want the beach and the closest thing Carnival has is Tabyana for $44.99 per person and all that gets you is transportation and a beach chair.

Bananarama
in Roatan
We were there last week, we went through Vic Bodden because some in the group wanted to see the island first. It is a bit of a walk but I don't think it took 20 minutes. We had someone with mobility issues as well and she was able to do it. There are spots along the way to stop and rest. We didn't even think about walking up that hill, there are tons of taxis there that for $2 pp will take you to meet your tour guide.Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
Thanks. Is Bodden's pick up point in the same location as the one if you're going through Bananarama direct?

Bananarama
in Roatan
Hi allJust wanted to post my recent experience booking bananarama. I emailed them directly and asked how to make a reservation for the day. They replied quickly and told me to call to do it. I used the email/US phone provided in post #2 above. We picked the $35 pp cruise package that includes RT transportation, welcome drink, chair, and 2 hours snorkel equipment rental. Decided to do this rather than Bodden since we just wanted to go to the beach and we didn't like other independent packages that required you to get your own taxi to and from.
A few notes. When I called the US number, they answered in Spanish. No surprise but my high school Spanish quickly got us switched to speaking English. I'm pretty sure if you just speak English, they'll get it! Be sure to check the details when you get your confirmation letter via email--the first one I got had the wrong ship, port for pickup, and pickup time (except for those details, it was perfect)! I sent them a note asking them to correct it and they did. Took just under 2 days to do all this. And from the directions they provide, it looks like it is much easier to find their driver from Coxen Hole than Mahogany Bay. 20 minute walk to get to driver in MB. Coxen Hole is just outside the gate.
Hope it's as nice as it sounds.

I was thinking about going directly with Bananarama to do the basic $30 package. Did it really take 20 minutes to get to the driver? One member of our party has some mobility issues so a 20 minute walk might make me rethink this.
Also, is there any flexibility with the return time to the ship or is it a set time? Thanks.

So are the taxis no longer near what used to be the Hard Rock Cafe?

Hi
I don't know what PIF means but I get my insurance outside of Carnival.
Paid in full.

I was in 10725 in September 2015. We had a great view for a Boardwalk Balcony. I did think it might have been better to be in the aft most room for the better ocean view but it wouldn't have been much better.
I've never stayed in a Deck 9 Boardwalk Balcony so I can't comment on that.

That's great ($20!). Hope Diamond is half way close to that! lol Anyone?? ;)
Hope the weather continues to be good to ya btw!
Nah, the Hope Diamond is about $250 million.😀

She just shortened her last name when she is on the cruise ship .It's just easier to call her Jaime Dee.
She's still Jaime though right? She didn't change her first name to Jamie.

When did Jaime Deitsch become Jamie Dee?

Not asking smokers to quit but has any cruise line ever considered two different Casino rooms on board in different areas of ship one being smoke free?
I don't know if any cruise line has considered two separate rooms. I was recently on Oasis of the Seas and in their casino one side is smoking the other is non-smoking. I never smelled or saw smoke on the non-smoking side. The only times I smelled it was at the casino bar which is in the middle.
Celebrity's casinos are smoke free. Somehow they manage to stay in business.

I'm getting tired of threads complaining about complainers.

I also have cruised on both ships. I would choose Dream without a doubt. There is a lot more to do onboard Dream. I think Dawn is too small for the number of people onboard. It seems crowded all over, especially the pool.
Don't forget even if you can get the free beverage package on Dawn it's not really free. You still have to pay the 18% gratuity on the actual price of the package.

I use Hotmail and I get all kinds of email from Royal all the time. I use that email on all my reservations with no problem, most recently in September.

This is not a cruise. You are not a tourist. These aren't the droids you're looking for.

Hi. We are 11 family members staying at Embassy Suites on 17th Street on December 27.
Is there a place within walking distance to purchase champagne to bring onto the ship?
Is there a casual fun restaurant within walking distance to have dinner to get us in the cruise mood?
Thank you.
For champagne or wine Publix and Total Wine are in the shopping center behind the hotel.

It looks to me like it's ChoiceAir with a new name and they've added a fee.
ChoiceAir had a fee when it was new but they eventually dropped it. What's old is new again.

Is this going to be a short term thing? Only thing stopping us is you can't book in CDN dollars
Yes, January and February then back to Baltimore.
-
You can still bring water but it has to be in cans or cartons on embarkation day only in your carry on.

Here's a video of 5245 on Pride. It's a wheelchair accessible room so the room is wider but not as deep as standard rooms. The balcony is also longer. You can see that the obstruction is quite noticeable.

Do you know how much they charge for a pass. Thanks for this info. Mary49
You should take a look at posts #331, 335, and 336.

I thought Vicky Freed left several years ago??
Vicki joined Royal Caribbean in January 2008. Lets not forget Joanne Schimelman, another exec who followed Vicki to Royal and Edie Bornstein, now Rodriguez, who left Carnival for Azamara and is now president of Crystal.

In my previous post I meant advice. It's too bad you can't edit after a short period of time.

If you don't like them, don't drink the water or get the free drink. Simple as that.
Gee thanks for that great advise. It was a very helpful contribution to this thread.
