I can't wait to take my first step onto the ship!

I'm really hoping they start sailing from Bayonne in September as I'm booked for September 12. I can't stand the not knowing if I'm going or not. If we are not going, I wish we would be notified sooner than later.

I would never, ever fly in the same day. Years ago we were scheduled on a flight to arrive at the ship sometime in the a.m. We had boarded our flight and then had to get off because there was problems with the airplane door and they had to repair it. They gave us food vouchers to use in the airport and we couldnt re board again for 2 hours. By the time we got to the ship, we were the last to board, the buffet area for lunch was closed already and we almost did miss the boat! Very stressful flying in day of.

While Allure is my favorite of 15 different ships I've been on I love the Oasis Class. I'm going on the Oasis in September and sure I will like it just as much since its the sister ship of Allure. The Oasis class ships are so different from any other ship I've been on. Love the neighborhoods, grass, trees, merry go round, boardwalk, water shows. I could go on and on about what I like about that ship.

I cashed in 50,000 Visa points last night online to get $500 off my cruise for September and in less than 24 hours it was processed. Different from years ago when I cashed in points and had to call up the credit card company and then it took a week or two to be processed.

I tried once using my rewards points towards my cruise and because I didnt book my cruise directly through the cruise they wouldnt let me apply my points. Since then I always book directly with the cruise line and find them more accommodating also with any changes I make.

I'm sure you meant that you have 50,000 points. 50,000 points gets you a $500.00 discount. 500 points gets you nothing. If you redeem the points and the cruise is cancelled the points remain on the cancelled cruise. They will not go back in your account. You can transfer the points to a future cruise by calling 888-305-4626
Yes I meant 50,000 points. I actually have 71,000 I will use the rest for cruise excursions

I will be making my final payment for my cruise in September. I have 500 points which I want to put towards $500 off my cruise. If I redeem the points now and the cruise is cancelled will I get the points put back onto my credit card? Does anyone know for sure, otherwise I guess I will call the credit card company rewards program to find out.

I used to book my reservations through Travelocity, AAA, etc. For one cruise I tried applying my Visa points to get $500 off my cruise and Royal Caribbean wouldn't let me because I didnt book the cruise through them. For now on, I always book through Royal Caribbean and get my discounts with no problem. Plus if I want to make any change its so easy to just call them directly and talk to an agent.

We've sailed Royal, Princess, Norwegian and Carnival. Our favorite still is Royal Caribbean, the Oasis class ships. We felt on Princess, although a very pretty ship and great service all around, there wasnt much going on at night as far as comedy shows, dancing, etc. We are in our 60's but still young at heart and found ourselves roaming around at night looking for something to do. Past 10 or 11 p.m. it seemed to us people were back in their cabins for the night.

Just read an article that ships will start sailing at half capacity from Bayonne in August. It said ships with 6,000 capacity will sail at 3,000. How will they decide who will be sailing. I booked a sailing last year so is it who booked further out in that order?
BAYONNE, NJ - After extensive discussions with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, local and state health officials, and the Office of Emergency Management, Royal Caribbean is planning to sail its first cruise ship out of Port Liberty in Bayonne in August, TAPinto Bayonne has learned.
“Right now, we’re hearing the first ship will leave in August at half capacity,” said Mayor Jimmy Davis. “This means that if the ship can accommodate 6,000, then 3,000 will be allowed on board.”
Royal Caribbean suspended operations from Bayonne last March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

I wonder if we do need a 3rd booster if we will side effects. My first moderna I only had a sore arm, my second dose I had a fever, aches and chills for a day and a half. Wonder if a 3rd will cause the same.

Been on Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Princess and Carnival. People have all different preferences so can't really say what you would like.
My preference in order from best to least is Royal Caribbean is my favorite, then Norwegian, then Carnival and then Princess. Prince3ss was too quiet and boring at night time.

So if they are limiting capacity what happens to the cruise I am booked on if as of now the ship is fully booked. How do they decide who to remove from the cruise?
-
Hope it all goes well and they will expand their sailings as I have a cruise scheduled for September. We are both fully vaccinated so can't wait to start cruising again.
-
yes I would. We are both fully vaccinated so no worries for us.

We have both completed our series of vaccination. It is not even known if when we're vaccinated if we can still transmit the virus. Every week is a different story as far as this virus goes. Since we got our vaccinations we feel much safer and have been going on with our lives as far as dining out, going to the gym, and traveling. We only wear masks if we enter a store that says masks required. Otherwise, we're done with these masks already!

Were you sick after the first dose? I had fatigue, headache, painful legs, elbow and wrist, and an earache. I will be getting the second dose on Wednesday and hope the first reaction was not indicative of what is in store for me this week.No I wasnt sick after the first dose. I was just tired for one day. After the second dose I got sick with a fever about 10 hours later.

Had dose #2 of Moderna last week. Sick for two days with fever and aches. All better now and just booked a plane trip to visit my son in Colorado who I havent seen in over a year! Also looking forward to my September 2021 cruise but still have doubts that will happen

When the virus started we moved our September 2020 cruise to September 2021. Now having doubts that cruise will happen. Might have to move it again to September 2022. We decided on a backup plan to take a land based vacation in 2021 just in case it gets cancelled once again.

That would be too stressful. Our ship once got into port on time but there was a 2 hour delay until they started letting people off.
