Based off your report about CVS, I also booked a backup with Walmart/Quest Diagnostics in case CVS doesn't tell me they don't have rapid tests until I arrive.
Thanks for the advice.

What worries me is the wording isn't date specific. So is everything going to cascade to future sailings?
-
Ruh Roh. This might explain why they suddenly changed the transfers website only relating to the Panorama.
I sail two weeks from today. <crosses fingers>

In case you are booked for bus transfers from either LAX or Long Beach to the ship, you might want to look at this.
https://www.carnival.com/airport-transportation/airport-shuttles/los-angeles
"NOTE FOR CARNIVAL PANORAMA SAILINGS: Transfer service is expected to commence at 12:00 PM."
That's now a 2 1/2 hour difference than before. I don't know about you, but I don't want to start my vacation with 2 1/2 hours extra in the airport.
Is this due to the propulsion issues? Are the sailings no longer leaving at 4:30pm?

Thanks everyone for the replies. It's much appreciated. I can go either way about eating solo or with a group, but it's good to know both are an option.

For anyone who's been aboard since the restart and has done My Time Dining, are they only sitting you with the people you came with or are they sitting multiple groups together?
-
I'm just finishing up reading the mega thread from your Panorama cruise. I imagine when you got home you thought it would just be a blip and not that the entire world would shut down in the ensuing two weeks.

Scary that CVS isn’t doing any of the Rapids, That would have sent me into a panic trying to figure out what to do next. PCR testing timelines were 7-10 Days by me.
I booked my rapid test at CVS this morning for the 9/11 Panorama cruise, so hopefully this shortage of tests doesn't affect the entire country.

CDC color code for this sailing is now yellow with the CDC starting an investigation.
@Wanna_Cruize Thanks for the info on sip & cover being enforced in the venues and Elemis products still in the showers!
I’m nervous about Havana being crowded now with all the different colors of wristbands and no wristbands. Have you and your wonderful husband found it to be crowded? Also, tell us the story about when you told him about the Cabana upgrade and his reaction! Did you wait until after boarding to tell him?
I suspect (at least I hope) now that Carnival is no longer giving exemptions, the numbers will start going down.

Thanks to everyone for their help. It's much appreciated.
Has anyone ever gotten an upgrade on a guaranteed cabin or is that just a pipe dream?
-
I called Carnival this morning and they didn't seem to have confidence in their answer, so I figured I'd try here.
Since I don't know my cabin number due to being a guaranteed cabin, how would the airport transfer work? Am I going to have to carry my bags onto the bus and get the luggage tags at the port?
The rep at Carnival said the people handling transfers don't have cabin numbers, so that option is out.

The side of a ship acts like a big sail, especially when it's going slow, and a wind gust can move the ship before the crew can react. I strongly suspect that is what happened here.
If that's the case, and it's possible you're correct that's what happened here, does that mean the space between ships docked in Cozumel needs to be fixed to allow for possible wind issues?
-
Here's what baffles me. How could this happen? Even if the radar isn't working, there were no clouds in the sky, did the pilot not see a giant ship anywhere in the vicinity? Unless I'm way off, it's not like any ship that close to the dock is going fast.
I'm going to be fascinated to read the follow up to this because it seems to me like multiple people screwed up here.

Thanks for the information.

Apologies if this has been answered before. I know video streaming is blocked no matter which package you buy, but is audio streaming (Pandora/Spotify/XM Online) allowed under any of the packages? Thanks in advance.

Yes, the new menu, which appears to be on Horizon only at this point, has the pay option.

This is for people who've already been on cruises that feature the new menu. I noticed there's 2 pounds of garlic crab for $15. Has anyone tried this? I assume it's snow crab. But is it already cracked? Any verdict on the quality?

Thanks for such a detailed review. It's discouraging about the waiter in the MDR pushing drinks on you just because you have the Cheers package. Though I suspect we have different views on T, I plan on wearing shirts too when I go on my cruise in January. I'll be interested also by the reactions one way or the other.

Since it's no longer summer, can we call this trip report "Fall Of George"?

Was wondering if anyone knew if the buffet on the formal nights matches the MDR's? From what I gather, it's pretty similar other nights.
Basically what I'm asking is if I choose not to dress up for formal night, will the buffet have lobster on the 2nd night of the cruise?
Thanks in advance.

What day did you receive the notice with a discount for the thermal suite? Thanks in advance.
