  1. We make the 10:10 flight out of FLL every time. We're usually waiting in the airport about 2 hours.

We do like you - line up early and are the first handful off.

We do have a backup of a later flight but we like the early one. 90 min. non stop flight home, gain back an hour, hour drive to the house.

No thanks, we are on vacation and act like it.

Not interested in getting in lining up at 6:30am and schlepping off our luggage just for an early flight.

  2. I've never noticed extra movement being in an Aft cabin. What I do remember is how quiet the room was that I had in an Aft. The reason I remember this is we were in a very vibrating cabin on a Princess ship in the Aft and were moved to a Fwd cabin that will so much better.

As said before the sticky for Celebrity cabins are a great source of information.

  3. The island concept sure beats those long tray sliding buffet line of days past.

Trays are very dangerous, you can't see below the tray when your walking with food and drinks. One cruise I was on with Princess this poor lady didn't see a small rise on the floor to the outside seating area. She went down face first into her plate of hot spaghetti still holding the tray. She was knocked out by the fall and her lip was cut really bad by the plate. Myself and another passenger rolled her over as she was face down in her plate on top of the tray. Ship security and medical help was there pretty fast but the hole situation was terrible.

  4. I have been through delayed customs when arriving back in Florida, it's not up to the cruise line when you disembark, it is when the ship is cleared and it can be delayed by customs.

Also FLL is usually slammed with passengers all wanting to get home. Remember there are multiple ships all arriving back. Last time I was there it was a major struggle for me to make a 12:45pm flight. Checking in your bags and getting through security is a massive cluster at FLL.

Wouldn't book either of your two flights. You would be better to end you vacation stress free and catch a 1:30 or later flight.

  5. We were told by the Guest Relations Manager on our last X cruise that in fact you CAN request to have your gratuities cancelled and returned to your credit card if you are in Select Dining. However, if you do this you have to move to traditional dining at any time and any table available when you change. You cannot cancel gratuities and remain in Select Dining.

I can just imagine the wonderful location and most popular dining time you would be allocated. NOT.

Let's just say you're not going to be seated at the Captains Table. :D More than likely seated next to the clanging and banging waiters area.

If it was me, "when in Rome do as the Romans do". If you choose to sail on an American ship, "join in", try not to become obvious island standing alone. :(

  6. With a lot of colleges having spring breaks albeit at different times hopefully there will be space available for you. I know some cruise lines really push their spring break cruises at colleges. I have done one spring break cruise. I am not a student. Never again. Never saw so many intoxicated/stoned students at one place since a rock concert I attended back in the 70's. :D

    No Cruise Zone IS........March.

  7. Are you too thinking of booking after final payment ?

I'm always thinking about booking a last minute after final payment cruise. It's exciting that you have the chance to get a great deal, a great flight price and a wonderful cruise all at the same time. It has happened in unison for me.

But to make sure it really works, once you find a smoking last minute cruise I always make sure the flights are in line in price before I commit on the cruise.

Last minute cruises can be very rewarding and exciting. Always fun.

  8. Thanks for your review! Agree, Celebrity provides a very good cruise experience. :)

Also agree the one area Celebrity improve would be offering more activities on Sea Days.

    LuLu

Yes the current Celebrity is doing it just right. OC........You said it.

What would you suggest that Celebrity to bring to Sea Days for the Next Level??

  9. Hey Thanks, that was refreshing and unique without all the finger pointing you usually find with most reviews.

It's good to have choices and with the different major cruise lines you can easily change it up. Intimacy (only with my wife) is not my calling, give me variety all day and night.

  10. Looks like your not going to get a good opinion from people who admit they don't like Sushi. ;)

I've dined in both and for the premium spent on either of these two restaurants my preference of the two would definitely be Silk Harvest.

Qsine is beyond foodie trendy for my tastes. Reminds me of a TV chef show.

  11. Before I went on a Panama Canal cruise I was thinking a bit like you. What does everyone see in this cruise and why is it so great.

It's a wonderful story of the making of the canal and was extremely challenging for all involved. Especially for the French who began the project and the Americans who were able to eventually finish things. You also get to experience going through the canal various locks and levels. It is certainly one of the wonders of the world and a tribute to mankind.

I also enjoyed the 5000 nautical mile journey from FLL to L.A and all the ports in between. If your a cruiser it's truly a trip to experience. :)

  12. The difference in perks between Select and Elite for just 150 more points is quite great, but the difference in perks between Elite and Elite + for 450 more points is next to nothing. However, we do like the capuccinos and the extra Internet but those two perks do not mean a lot to people who have the beverage package and who cruise to get away from the Internet and business.

Fully agree with this statement to the point that being at the Elite level as I am is where the perks are the most substantial and not a lot more comes along with Elite +.

For some it's probably an ego thing of achieving Elite +. The high end coffee's and a few extra minutes of internet is not why I travel or cruise.

With this being said I'm not really incented to get to the Elite + level. Elite is great as it is and for me quite nice and appreciated.
