  1. We enjoyed the same cruise a couple of months ago! Even during school holidays there aren't as many children on board as are on some other lines, entertainment was good and especially in the lounges and bars. I'm sure you will have a great cruise! Dianne

Did Celebrity monitor the kids from coming into the adult pool; this was always a problem on RCCL

  2. We did the 10 day cruise out of Venice in early June this year on Connie. The nightly entertainment in the theatre was good but not "wow". It depends on what you like. However, the music at different venues on the ship every night was excellent. We enjoyed the house band in the Rendezvous Bar and particularly enjoyed the singers and musicians at the Sunset Bar especially at Sail Away.

First time on Celebrity, 14 cruises on RCCL. How did you like the Constellation overall? Food? Pools, Service? Excursions?

  3. Ugh, just got off Pearl and had a awful time boarding. Over 2 1/2 hours waiting like a heard of cattle in a hot tent. Apparently not NCLs fault, POM was overbooked and Pearl was unable to be at her usual spot because of the Getaway. When we finally boarded we went in through one gangway on deck 4. Awful experience and hopefully never have to deal with it again. US customs or whomever dropped the ball that day.

I loved Pearl though, can't wait to see her after the dry dock and refurb. We are booking her again April 2018! The staff was AWESOME! Had one of the best bartenders. Dinner at Cagneys was superb and got one of the best cups of coffee there. Bowling was fun, I'll be sad to see that go.

First time on a NCL ship this Saturday. What is the problem with boarding; do they have enough people to handle everyone?

  4. If you watch it enough you know when people fall off the board sometimes they go flying off to the top of the flow rider and slam into the wall. Does this mean that everyone that has fallen and sent to the top have the right to sue RCCL? Bull. If you know the rider is dangerous do not try it.

  5. I love the Rising Tide bar at night. There was never a problem getting a chair. One night a large man was sitting across me. He turned out to be Hulk Hogan. The schooner bar was always empty because the piano player had no personality at all. People would walk in and walk right out. Other times on other cruises the piano area was packed with people. It depends on the ability of the piano player to get cruisers to sing along with him.

  6. I just can not wait until I see the ultimate chair hog. Yo know when you have seen a huge group of family and friends say 40 of them; take one of the group pictures on the stairs? Next morning I could see one of them get up and claim every pool chair that rings the pool. Lets see what the RCCL people do then. You know its going to happen some day. LOL

  7. As no one else has mentioned this particular "pet peeve", mine is the Hogs who double their fun by selecting one set of chairs in the sun and another in the shade. On our last cruise, we watched an older couple occupy the shady seats for the most part, but every once in a while would switch to the sunny side of the street. Err, pool. At one point, they disappeared for two or three hours, presumably to have lunch and a little siesta before returning to "their" chairs.

"Go ahead make my day", or "I am older and have more insurance"

  8. After what to wear in the MDR this the most talked about problem on cruise critic. I have seen a woman sit in a chair by the pool and tell me the next seven seats next to her are already taken. An hour goes by and she is still the only one sitting there. You are right I have never seen RCCL staff enforce the chair rules; maybe they do not want to offend anyone either.

  9. If you plan to be in Baltimore before or after the cruise for one or two days; I work as a tourist ambassador for the city. We help visitors with hotels, restaurants, attractions, historical sites like Fort McHenry. If you are a baseball fan; Camden Yards home of the Orioles offers tours of the park or if the Orioles in town we can help with special tickets. Enjoy your cruise.

  10. Booked my dream cruise on the Jewel of the Seas. Rome, to the Greek Islands and Turkey in September. I have been on all of the RCCLs types of ships including the Oasis class. I have never been on the Jewel types of ships. I know from the posts it is much smaller with less to do but this cruise I am interested in the ports because my family background is from Italy and Greece. Tell me I will have a great time?

  11. I work as a tourism ambassador for the city of Baltimore. The previous posts are helpful for staying before the cruise. If you are looking for a downtown hotel that may allow yo to park there; check with Days Inn downtown Baltimore or the Fairfield Inn in Baltimore. This will allow you to enjoy the Inner Harbor shops the day before.

  12. Thanks

What was the entertainment on the Pearl and looks like you have to pay extra to use the spa; is that correct? RCCL does not charge to use their spas except for services such as massage. What is the cost of the spas?

  13. New to NCL going on the Pearl for the first time. Other than the extra cost restaurants; can I go to all of the others? How about dining times? Also as a solo cruiser can I request sitting with other diners? What in your opinion is the best regular restaurant and extra cost restaurant?
