Hey,
I don't suppose any of the lucky folks who have already or are currently on the Escape have any information and pictures about the Standard Penthouse suites on the Escape?
Looking for some pictures to help with my excitement but cannot find any at this point.
Thanks in advance if anybody can help.
:D

"Heaven suite" Err. Ok, thanks uploader. :D
Hey guys.
Is this the H5 haven suite?
Thanks in advance if anybody can help.

Hey,
I'm so excited for my cruise on the escape. Such a shame it's 14months away.
How can we in the UK get a copy of the escape brochure?
Thanks for any help.

Hey,
What would you say is the earliest flight you can do from both Mia and fll? If we walked off ourselves with our bags?
We will be flying up to New York for a few days before flying home to England, so not sure how complicated an internal flight could turn out to be.
Thanks for any help.
hey folks,
does anybody have an answer for this?
thanks for any help. It is very much appreciated.

OP is probably OK doing a European cruise as it looks like he is from the UK. He can fly London-Paris in the same amount of time we can fly LAX-SFO.
Firstly, I would just like to thank you all for your replies so far. You are helping greatly.
Should probably specify, We are from the UK so only a short hop of 4 hours or so to Athens to start the cruise. Not really looking at the ports TBH. Mainly the ship and the amenities onboard. We of course will do a few of the ports, but more than likely be at the beach or on the ship 70% of the time. It really is just deciding whether or not to do a land based trip or a cruise.

Hi there, I hope everyone is well.
Just a quick question. We normally sail NCL but not with my little girl. However we have seen a nice looking cruise on the new vista ship in Europe for 10 days next July. Just doing some research into if it will be our seen. My little one is 5 almost six before we go.
Is carnival good for the little ones? Sailed royal carribean once but preferred NCL, but more than happy to try carnival if it seems good. The vista looks really nice.
Thanks for any help.

Yesterdays webcam shot.
edit; and it seems the static feed from the float out is still on air, giving a larger still of the same webcam (but no archive, so the pic below will alway show the latest near live still);
Am i right in thinking the covered section there is the haven area? looks really covered, never going to get a tan in there.
I didnt think the roof would be so small.

We have a Penthouse booked for September 19th on the Getaway and will not be receiving them :( its our first suite and i was looking forward to them but as we are based in Ireland we will not receive them. My first cruise in 2012 we got the welcome booklet and tags mailed out.
oh, do we not get these over here? Ah man, was looking forward to some new reading material. lol.

I wish they would change Nassau on our sailing next year on the escape to something else. :)
Love cruising and love all of the islands, just do not love Nassau as much. :D

Hi all,
Just a quick one.
Has anybody done the backstage tour of the ship on one of the megaships? What do you get to see and was it worth the cost? (how much?)
Would you recommend it?
Many thanks in advance.

I can't see Bliss Ultra Lounge on the Escape deck plans. Is it there? Or have they changed it to another nightclub? :)
oh i hope not. We were in club bliss in feb on the getaway, we sat there all night whilst a girl wanted to dance and have some fun and drink but her dad would lot leave her side. We watched them for hours. :D
In the end she gave up trying to get rid of him and just left with him. Bless her heart. but dad was not giving up. lol. :)
Love bliss. good memories.

I'm not a fan of Nassau either. Always a wasted port for me.

Hey. We are cruising the Escape out of Miami July 2016 and are looking at two nights in South Beach. Can you recommend it? We will have two girls, 14 and 12 with us. Thanks
Hey, we stayed at a place called the surfcomber, it was right on the beach and was really nice. Rooms were nice, bed was fantastic. Big heated pool, and on the beach they had a big private section. Was really nice. South beach was busy, lots of bars and loud music, but we went for that experience so didn't mind.
I guess it depends what you are looking for.
The biggest shock for me was paying $60 for breakfast at a place on Collins avenue. Didn't expect that. Lol. However it was a real nice breakfast. :D

The NCL website shows it as a 5 and a half hours excursion. How long is the boat trip to the island?
It looks really nice, it's got me interested for our next cruise.
Thanks in advance for any help.
DSC covers everyone except the butler and concierge.
The butler is, well, the butler. On land, when the doorbell rings, the butler answers the door. On the ship when the doorbell rings, you go and open the door and it's the butler. I had trouble with that at first.
The butler will hand any room service orders, make sure the coffee maker is operating, bring you canapes or chocolate covered strawberries each afternoon, etc. The room steward will clean the suite.
The concierge will help you with any reservations you need at shows, dinner, etc.
It's customary to tip the butler and concierge since they are not included in the DSC.
Thank you very much for explaining it. Very much appreciated. I will budget accordingly.
Thanks again. -
We are also on the December 3, 2016 cruise as well. We will arrive 4 days early to spend some time shopping in Miami. We are flying in from Calgary.
There will be 4 of us.... my wife, my 2 year old daughter, my mother in law and myself. We are super excited!
How cool. Calgary. That's awesome. We are from a boring little town in England called Northampton. :)
Just myself and partner on this cruise.
We cruised out of Miami in February this year, we also flew in a couple of days early to spend some time on South beach and to try and get over the jet lag before we boarded.
As I say this time is similar except we will be flying into New York for a few days beforehand. Bit of a dream for us both to visit New York.
Do you have any other cruises before this one?
As I understand it your DSC includes your room steward and dining room attendants as well as many of the backroom services we don't ordinarily see. This is how I view their roles:
Steward: cleans your room
Butler : Makes your room more enjoyable
Concierge: Get's you out of your room by helping with reservations
That is way over simplified but it gives you a general idea.
Hey, thanks for answering.
So would you suggest booking ahead of time before we hit the ship, or are we ok to just wait until on board and go evening by evening?
Thanks again. -
I am on Escape in December 2016 as well with my wife daughter and Mother in Law...... we are lucky and get along very well. Which sailing are you charlotte&lloyd?
We are out of Miami on 3rd December. we are flying into new York from London a few days before, will then fly down to Miami the friday night and sail out on Saturday 3rd. Which dates are you sailing?
-
It's so cool to watch 'our' ship being built! Can't wait for December. In laws have now signed up so it's going to be another shop a thon in ports. Me, I'm going diving.
Personally, I don't care about room service fees, specialty restaurants, take in or take out food, the size of our balcony or if there is dust under our bed. Just get me on the ship and in a hot tub and I'm happy. :D
Oh i am so with you on everything you just said. :D
Except im going in december 2016 not 2015. :(:(

Sorry, I am probably going to come across as stupid here. We upgraded our normal cabin choice of a balcony cabin to the haven courtyard penthouse a few days back now.
I am enjoying reading through the haven threads but this one has me asking myself questions, that i cannot answer. :) But i bet you can,
what is the difference between the room steward and the butler? What does he/she do? and the concierge, what is his roll?
If we have pre paid our DSC, Who does this cover?
-
Hey all,
Great photos. Thanks for posting them.
Just a quick question, we booked the penthouse suite, but what are the blue square things on the balconies?
Can anyone answer? Anybody stayed in one of these suites before? This will be our first time. Very excited.
Thanks all, happy cruising.
-
So pleased for you. Fancy having to unpack when you are on holiday, whatever next, pack again at the end
Why, will they pack for me at the end as well?:p:p:p
-
Hi all,
Sorry, We have just upgraded our room to the Haven to see if we like it, and i read that the butler can unpack for you, My question, are they serious? I hate packing ad unpacking, does anybody use this service??
I will be over the moon if he does.
Many thanks.
