Questions for the experts please. HAL Westerdam 1) on previous cruises smoking was permitted on the Seaview deck. Is this still allowed? 2) We dock early in Auckland. We can either fly home to Vancouver at 8:30 pm that same day, checking in 3 hours prior, or stay a night in Auckland giving us a fair amount of time to explore. Would option 1 work but where do we store our luggage? I don't fancy killing time for hours in the airport. 3) If you think overnight is a better option what decent hotel would you recommend? And any must sees? Thank you all.

Thanks so much. Haven't decided if we will stay a fee days in Auckland yet. We will be spending Chriswith family in Adelaide before the cruise. I was curious to know how the tours were and will investigate further in the Australia and New Zealand forums layer. Than ks so much

Most tours begin early but we don't dock until 8 am. Is there any shortened version of seeing the 12 Apostles? Thank you.

We have to keep to a budget. And a specific time frame. Air from YVR in Premier Economy is pricy but can't travel in Economy. I realize Carnival is a fiierent class of ship from HAL. But I couldn't wrap my head around the huge difference in service. I appreciate everyone's input and keeping the posting non judgemental. Thank you.

The string trio called Stringsx3 was fantastic. I happened to speak to the restaurant manager and he know nothing of the shortages. Not sure how you run out of items when you are in Port everyday?

We and another couple sailed a couple of years ago from lax to Mexico. We had balcony cabins. We usually cruise with Hal and have also sailed with Norweigan. We found our 7 day adventure horrible. Almost every meal in the dining room was cold, over or undercooked. We were told they would make it right. Never did. Our last night we ate at the buffet. The ship ran out of clamato juice, worstershire and avocados. There's more to add but you get the gist of it. We are flying to Sydney next December 2024 to see family. I have found a cruise for New Zealand on the Splendor. This is the only cruise in the time we wish to visit. I swore I'd never set foot on another Carnival ship but maybe I should give them another try?

I am confused by your last sentence. I do not expect, nor am I concerned. I am not an avid cruiser and am trying to inform myself. My apologies for coming across toxic. Never my intention.

Thanks. I guess I need to be patient. Our TA suggested guarantee because you ofter get a better cabin. We usually go inside but opted a window which I hope is not obstructed. However if it is then lesson learned. Enjoy you cruise.
