On our upcoming Regal Cruise all the club class mini-suites were booked.  We settled for a "regular" mini-suite, but we will really miss the club class dining. Has anyone been able to purchase club class dining as an add-on to a regular mini-suite?  We'll ask on board, but just wondering if anyone has been successful?  We're Elite class, if that matters.

I dont believe there is an "add on" to a mini suite.  You are either in a club class mini, or you are not.  Why would it matter if you are elite?

No idea regarding Royal Caribbean but the pizza in Alfredo's is a different class than Slice. The pizza in Alfredo's reminded me of the excellent pizza that I have had in Italy.

Silly girl, pizza does not come from Italy, its strictly a New York thing.  Oh, and if anyone from Chicago butts in here, they dont know what they are talking about.

As I always say Mini Suites are NOT suites in any way shape or form and should not have the word "suite" in the title and or description.

I agree with the earlier post that Princess is not for you.

Not fair.  Princess is not perfect.  You cannot imagine that a cruise on Princess could not have all the problems the OP says they had?  Another cruiser has backed him up.  Not one of us here can say Princess is or is not for anyone.

Is an issue if one reads like I do and will go through 8-10 books on a 15 day cruise.  Now I carry a library of about 800 books with me on my cell phone.  Can reread old favorites as well as quickly download new ones. Plus the advantage of being able to read anytime I am waiting for a few minutes with the page automatically kept, without having to carry a book around.

If someone only reads one or even two books a cruise then not much of an issue.  For me a one book would not even last past a short flight.

In that case you are wise to stick to your cell phone.  Two or three books would be perfect for a 15 day cruise for me.

I totally understand and agree! However, taking books on a flights and cruises is not really

practical anymore. So, our Kindles are our backup. Give me a real book anytime...

Actually a real book is not much different in size than a Kindle, might be a bit heavier, but its worth it to me, and for my nickle, totally practical.  I guess its simply a matter of whats important to you.  And my books are much more important to me than a bottle of wine.  Folks carry those onboard.  We can each name our poison.

Of course, there are still a few of us who prefer actual books.

Actually, I think there are a lot more than a few of us. Kindle does not do it for me!

  7. You could still go, and just stay on the ship when in port.  Better than missing the whole cruise.  Sorry, I was still typing when Cruise Raider made his post.  He gave good advice.

    That's not what I said.

Ultimately this is Princess fault for not enforcing their own guidelines.  If they did, this wouldn't be an endless discussion on this board.

I will agree that Princess is at fault for not enforcing their own guidelines.  But the endless discussion here I believe comes from new cruisers asking questions.  There will always be new cruisers wanting guidance, and isnt that part of the purpose of Cruise Critic?  Many gave me much asked for advice before my first cruise, and I was glad for it.

Were you on a ship with an outside Promenade deck?  (only on the pre-Regal/Royal ships)  I'm not sure the small of seaweed is particularly pleasant--at least not when it's been on a beach for awhile.  We've done a lot of TAs on the older Princess ships and have enjoyed sitting out on the promenade deck when it was warm enough.  It seems to me there's a faint, pleasant smell to the ocean itself.  I've spent a lot of time along the beaches in the Outer Banks and while I don't think there was a strong smell, there was "clean" pleasant smell.

Yes, we were, and we had a mini with a balcony.  Perhaps its because I grew up on the shore and frequented beaches in NY, NJ and Connecticut.  Very different from the Caribbean.

Me and my son are on same cruise different rooms. On the countdown clock it shows different times to the voyage, anyone know why? Does anyone know where Muster station G on Sky is?

    Thanks

The arrival times are just a suggestion.  You can both arrive together at the same time.
