I'm a member of this big-box store but never used the travel service :( If I was to book thru them, do you have to pay all at once or can you make payments like booking with RC? (I looked thru the terms and conditions but didn't see that info) Thank you!

Thank you. I think my only other option for my price range is a cabin on deck 2 but am I right in thinking that there is also restricted access on this deck. is it better or worse than deck 3. Thanks
Yes - deck 2 is the same. This was our first time on Indy and we could not figure out why we couldn't find our room even after looking at the map several times! Finally, we got it...you have to go up to Deck 4, walk thru the casino and come back down on the other end of the ship. There will be a good bit of walking if you all are going to be doing activities. It's a big, beautiful ship!
-
True, but if you wanted to go to the theater or the solarium, you would have to walk to the other end of the ship. We were in 2620 a few weeks ago and it can be a lot of walking...it's a big ship! Just have to plan your ship day to minimize.

I was starting to have some Mommy guilt on my cruise in December but it was a girl's trip so bringing my daughter wasn't an option. She was sad because she's never been on a cruise at all (she's 7).They have to understand that everything is not about them. And she ended up having so much fun with her dad and brother that she hardly missed me. She had more to tell me than I had to tell her! Even if you can take them, I hope you decide to go without them so you and your husband can just be adults, not parents!

Recently, the "big" prize on IOS was a gift certificate for a bamboo (I think) sheet set to be bought at a fancy store in Cozumel.

It's being offered on the 4-night as well. It's on the Compass for 6:30 - $85.

I sailed 12/8 and found the food to be edible but not great. I didn't eat in any specialty restaurants. The steak in the MDR was good as was some type of chocolate cake in the Windjammer. Pad Thai was decent for a buffet. I tried some turkey parmesan just because I didn't even know that was a thing and it was terrible, very dry. And the way they fried the chicken, you couldn't even tell what piece it was. Lol However, none of this would stop me from leaving on a cruise today if I could!

On the survey, I always mention the need for more live music especially by the pool. IOS has a great Caribbean band that played 45 min on a sea day. Do they have other jobs on the ship?

You are making me nervous! My flight is 11:50am on Delta. This is the first time I've booked Delta. I wonder what happens if I miss the flight?
Just make sure you're up early and can hear the announcements! I believe I saw someone post that passengers from the ship that returned last Monday started getting off between 8:15-8:30. Also, I've missed a flight before and they were able to reschedule me for later. However, I don't fly a lot so maybe someone else will have better info. Enjoy the cruise!!

When you complete your set sail pass you are asked what time and by what method you are travelling home. I'm sure this has something to do with what luggage tag number you are assigned.
That would make a lot of sense. Thx!

Just wondering if there is any rhyme or reason to luggage tags for those without any type of priority. Just took my first RCL cruise on IOS. I was in an OV on Deck 2 and had luggage tags 31. Would that be the case most of the time? On NCL, I've picked the luggage tag based on what time I wanted to leave the ship. Nothing serious, just curious!

Lincoln Road is an awful tourist trap. Please look elsewhere for "authentic" Cuban food.
I second that!

Too bad someone at home couldn't have faxed his birth certificate to the port, or that they didn't have the foresight to put a copy on their phone or cloud. It's important to know where the travel documents are but it is also important to know what any alternatives are (after all, even if the passport is brought along it could get lost or stolen en route). (Presuming of course it's a closed loop cruise.)
I didn't even know having a picture of it would work as well. I'm going to do that immediately!

I hope so too. I have a flight at the same time and will be coming off Indy Feb 2nd. I'm hoping since it will be a Thursday it won't be difficult getting to the airport in time for the flight.
It's more about getting off the ship than the travel time/traffic to the airport in most cases. We came back last Monday and left the ship around 10:40 and made it thru customs at about 12:20 (Uber request was 12:24). Getting thru customs was crazy - 3 officers but there were 6 lines!

People ask this all the time and I am not sure why.
If I want to shop at the port, I won't pick an excursion that keeps me away all day if there are 5+ ships there. I wouldn't have enough time. I'm still a fairly new cruiser (5) so I still like all the cheap souvenirs!

My friend bought a small steamer on board our first cruise together on Majesty. She packed it in her checked luggage and it got thru. When she pulled it out in the room, I told her she got lucky. She has since brought it on 2 IOS cruises in her checked luggage and it's not been confiscated. She now believes it's fine. :(

Just off IOS last week. When I looked out in the morning (around 8), I saw plenty of people already heading to customs. They were walking, no line. Only ship at Terminal 25.

I think the 70's party is fun for the first few times. Some cruise staff seem to be more energetic about putting on "the show" than others. But I have to say that after seeing a half a dozen of these I crave for RCL to recreate these or change them up. It's like groundhog's day with the show. I don't even go anymore, but like I was saying at the beginning, lots of fun for new people.

I guess I'm in for a great time since this will be my first one!

Like someone else said, just keep checking the site. I booked an ocean view in Jan and was able to upgrade to a balcony today for $21 and change. Cruise is next week. You will have to call and ask them to price the upgrade. Good luck!

Yeah they have a 70's/disco night every cruise - it's a signature Royal Caribbean event. Lots of fun - the cruise director staff dress up in disco outfits and you have the "Village People" as well. Great fun.
Thank you! This is my first RC cruise (only been on NCL). Looking forward to the party!

Hi,
I saw a post that included a picture from a 70's party on the Thanksgiving cruise. I believe the poster was "MattfromFL" or something very similar! I was wondering if someone knew if this party was on every cruise or was it something fun for the holiday. I'll be on next week and would love to join in. Thanks!

I was one of the people posting on that revived thread. This video is great too. Can't believe you do all of that just for fun. Hopefully you get some business. Great work!

I loved it! This would possibly appeal to a demographic of younger cruises. The only small thing I didn't like were all the scenes in the hallway. It's too brown! So much color and bright light on a ship. I'm sure the next one will be even better. My favorite was when 4 of you popped out from under the covers and the 5th guy was on the floor. I really did LOL! Great job.

This isn't my first cruise, but it's my first excursion. The time on RC website says 9am. Is that the time we meet on the ship? Is that the time we should be off the ship and meeting with the tour operator? Thanks. (We're doing the ATV excursion thru RC in Cozumel) The trip itself says 4 hours so I was wondering what time we should be back to the ship. I'm hoping to get an hour or so in of port shopping.

Wow, I never even looked at it that way, but you're very right. A person who would kill his wife in front of his children needs a lot of prayers too.
