  1. So after going to Costa Maya I would NOT recommend getting a golf cart. I would just take the $8 taxi to the malecon and pick a place to plop down that has room. Plenty of choices. Right now with the sargassum I would opt out and do the ruins instead.
  2. fastpasses are free with any disney ticket. OP - we used Mears and it worked well for us. Uber would be a good option as well. Sounds like you're going after - any chance you can go before? We've done the parks with Disney cruise and prefer the parks before to chill after. Just a thought. Enjoy!! I'm so jealous. Love Disney!! Can't wait to see Galaxy's Edge.
  3. On the malecon. Order off menu and dont have to pay for a chair.
  4. A taxi from the port of Costa Maya into town is $8 each way. FLAT rate. You can also use a wagon thingy but I'd just taxi it personally.
  5. Hi, I'll answer my own question since we went. We went the week of March 9. The week prior was BAD but our week was CLEAR. So it just goes to show things can change RAPIDLY. I would plan a backup just in case (like hop a taxi to mayan ruins) if bad on the day you arrive but I wouldn't freak out until a day before or when you get there. The day we went it was sooo beautiful and clear. ❤️ Like a previous poster said, go as far down from the ship a possible there is less. We went to Jaimes.
  6. My third choice would be yaya due to shade. If you don't need shade then anything up north closer to Jaime's. As far away from the boat as possible.
  7. Yes. Menu was the same and had pricing on it. We are not alcohol drinkers so the AI didn't make sense to us. A coke was $3US and it was in a bottle. Guac and chips were cheap less than $8, as were nachos. I'm sorry but I didn't look at mixed drinks or beer pricing but everything was cheap. No lounger fee as long as your ordered food and drink.
  8. Yes we walked right up and sat down in the shade with no reservation and ordered a la Carter. I contacted Jaime as well and asked if I could do an ala carte res in September and he doesn't do res except for AI. I'm not worried though because we are the only ship in port that day. And if he's booked I'm happy to walk to Yaya or even the others around there. The day we were there 2 ships were in port. And our ship was a megaship. Unless a family or group has booked this place solid I dont really see us not getting a spot. And there was plenty of availability all around at the other clubs which would be fine as long as I find shade. I'm not going to stress.
  9. We went to Jaimes for spring break and this was my review. I'm a clean freak and the bathroom was clean? Cannot comment on fresh fruit. I think it's a solid choice among the ones on the Malecon and it's at almost the very end. Vendors to me didn't bother me. If you've ever been to Cancun - it's NOTHING like that. These guys just walked by and you would wave your hand and it wasn't all the time - very sporadic. And it was the same guys walking by so after the first time you waved them off they left you alone. ______________________ Hi, I was at Jaime's during spring break. First time there. We would definitely return. The staff was consistently coming by and also would wait at the back for a hand wave. We were able to walk up without res, grab chairs in the shade, and order a la carte. They did offer the AI but we're not drinkers so it didn't financially make sense for us. I did have pesos but everything was in US dollars and no problem there. Massages were $20/30 min and $30/60 min. My hubby and I both took advantage of this! The only comment I'll make is that the loungers could use a little updating. The front row loungers looked nicer than ours in the shade, in hindsight I should have just asked them to be swapped out. Sargassum wasn't an issue when we arrived in the morning. By the time we left there was a little there probably about a 3 inch trail down the beach. I did see the guy on the far left of property (not near the chairs) if looking at water shoveling it up. Man what a job! Service - 5 stars. Food - 4 stars (personally I didn't like the fish tacos but everything else was delicious). View and beach - 5 stars. Massages - 4 stars. Overall, I'd recommend this place without hesitation. Taxi was $8 flat each way. IDK how to post pics or I would. Happy to email them.
  10. We just went for Spring Break and loved it just as much as you. The service was 5 star amazing. I would not hestiate to recommend this place to anyone. 2 adults, 2 kids. Great day! Loved that it was a small place and no worries on overcrowding. It's not like the beach chairs lined up at Topicante...much less crowded and much more shade. They did walk by but never stopped - just walked by and I would wave my hand. When I was laying down with my shades on no one bothered me at all. Plenty of time. The taxi ride is less than 10 minutes - probably 6. Cut thru the shops at the port so you can make you way to the taxis. Taxis are $8 flat and they'll grab you one on your way home for you. Again, awesome service.
  11. Hi, I was at Jaime's during spring break. (just posted this on the other thread). First time there. We would definitely return. The staff was consistently coming by and also would wait at the back for a hand wave so I don't know if I just had an awesome waiter or the other poster was inconsistent with service. We were able to walk up without res, grab chairs in the shade, and order a la carte. They did offer the AI but we're not drinkers so it didn't financially make sense for us. So obviously they didn't push alcohol on us at all. I would give the service here 5 stars...the other posters experience was nothing like mine. I was a family of 4 with 2 pre teens. 13. I think he'll be in a wheelchair in a year so I'm trying to plan accordingly.
  14. Yeah we booked in November 2018 but he was healthy then. His kidneys have failed and now he needs a walker because he's so weak. I'm hoping he actually makes it on this cruise next year but in the meantime I'm trying to plan accordingly. We have 11 rooms booked and currently I have him in a junior suite. I was going to rebook him into suite level to get priority boarding and be closer to the lounge. His walker does squeeze in and out so we might be okay in a grand suite. I worry about the bathroom.
